Apex Legends leaks reveal Maggie's terrifying melee weapon combo

Apex Legends' Season 12 update cannot come soon enough - fans of Respawn Entertainment's shooter are eager to learn of what's next for Apex Legends as we approach the game's three-year anniversary - and it looks like information is starting to slip through the cracks. The latest Season 12 leaks suggest that Maggie is joining Apex Legends as the next playable character.

It feels like an inevitability these days that upcoming Apex Legends content is going to be leaked ahead of its official reveal and release - in some capacity anyway. Data miners are always scouring Apex Legends' game files for any hint at what's to come and there is almost always something to talk about.

Ahead of Respawn's Season 12 announcement - which is expected within the next week or two - Apex Legends leakers have shared a new look at Maggie - the long-rumoured Season 12 legend - and what to expect from her. We don't have a good look at her in-game character model yet, but the artwork shared is raising a lot of eyebrows.

A PlayStation 5 version of Apex Legends might be coming soon

PlayStation 5 users may not have to wait much longer for a native version of Apex Legends, according to file information found on PSN.

According to PlayStationSize, while looking through PSN for updates, a PS5 entry was found with a download size of over 80GB without update.

This could mean a PS5 version of the game is imminent, and this also means you can probably expect the Xbox Series X/S version to arrive around the same time, if not the same day.

Apex Legends PS5 version has been spotted on the PSN database

Ever since Apex Legends developer Respawn announced that the massively popular battle royale game would be getting a next-gen update, players who have been able to snag themselves a PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S have been salivating at the thought of the silky smooth 120 FPS gameplay Respawn is aiming for on the latest consoles.

As spotted by 'PlayStation Game Size' on Twitter, metadata for a PS5 version of the game has made its way onto the PSN database, suggesting that the new-gen optimised version of Apex Legends is just around the corner. By the looks of things, the new-gen version of Apex will come in at just over 80 GB, so if you're space-starved it may be time to start thinking about deleting some of those older games, or investing in a PS5 SSD.

Apex producer Josh Medina confirmed towards the end of December that, alongside cross-progression, support for PS5 and Xbox Series consoles is en route for 2022. With this latest news, it looks like the update may arrive sooner rather than later. With Apex Legends Season 12 set to drop in early February, players will certainly be hoping that the new-gen update will arrive with it.
