Apex Legends' Arsenal trailer teases effects of Ballistic's abilities

Respawn Entertainment's latest Apex Legends Arsenal trailer offers us an insight into how Season 17 newcomer Ballistic is going to perform in the battle royale - and it's safe to say that his experience is going to pay off. However, it's also giving us our first official look at how Ballistic's Titanfall-inspired "Smart Pistol" ability is going to work in Apex Legends - and it could be a game-changer.

In the Apex Legends Arsenal launch trailer, which you'll be able to comb through yourself down below, we see Ballistic recording a video for his son Nathanial - something he'll be watching if Ballistic dies, or if he goes rifling through his things.

Interspliced throughout this recording is footage of Ballistic in the Apex Games, showcasing his skills as one of the competition's more experienced combatants. He's able to effortlessly dispatch an oncoming Octane, dodge fire from Bangalore and Loba (who are on the same squad, lobalore fans), and he makes light work of Mirage.

NO MASK CAN HIDE A LEGEND LONG IN THE VEILED COLLECTION EVENT

Well, Legends? Let’s dance! The Veiled Collection Event will start from April 25th to May 9th and is packed with gorgeous cosmetics to earn and a brand new limited-time mode that puts a fun twist on Team Deathmatch. Read on and learn more about the details of the event.

[h2]NEW LIMITED-TIME MODE: TDM UNSHIELDED DEADEYE

TDM Unshielded Deadeye is a twist on Team Deathmatch with Legends wielding limited, rotating loadouts each match to prove their skill. Every match loadouts will be randomly given so players will start with one of the following weapon sets:

Wingman and 30-30 Repeater
Hemlok and G7 Scout
Kraber and Sentinel

Care packages are turned off and players will have no shields or helmets. The first team to 50 kills wins and will reveal the true Champions among Legends.

Unlock 24 explosive limited-time cosmetics, with Legendary skins for Wattson, Rampart, Gibraltar, and more.

All 24 items will be available in exchange for Apex Coins or Crafting Metals and in Veiled Collection Event Apex Packs for the entire duration of the event.

If you unlock all 24 cosmetics in the collection before the event ends, you’ll automatically receive Caustic’s new Prestige skin, “Apex Contagion”!

You can earn up to 1,600 points per day and challenges refresh daily. All these challenges also stack with your Battle Pass so you can complete multiple challenges at once.

Apex Legends' Firing Range is in for an upgrade with Season 17

25/04/2023 New information about Apex Legends' Seaosn 17 update has come to light. The headline and copy of this article has been updated to reflect that.

If you're something of a veteran Apex Legends player, you'll know that this battle royale's Firing Range - a training arena for players to hone their skills against various targets - hasn't changed much. However, that looks like it's about to change. Several Apex leakers have spotted an interesting teaser hidden in-game and it might just hint at a brand new Firing Range training facility for players new and old alike to enjoy. And, it looks like these teasers weren't unfounded - Respawn Entertainment has confirmed something is coming very soon.

What are we actually talking about? Well, while you might be able to find it for yourself in-game, the best look at this new teaser comes from Apex Legends leaker and content creator 'KralRindo' online. As you will be able to see for yourself, it looks like a rather mysterious storage crate has popped up in the Firing Range and it labelled with the following text:

"Asset Migration Intiative. Transfer to dynamic testing facility, Solace. Max Weight - 40 KG. Lot #S17FR2K23RSPN. Handle with care."
