Apex Legends: The Board Game brings the battle royale to your tabletop


If you just can't get enough Apex Legends, there's some good news, as there's an official board game in the works.


Quite simply titled Apex Legends: The Board Game, this particular tabletop adaptation is a competitive tactics game designed for 2-4 players, though you will be able to play with more people thanks to some planned expansions (thanks, GameSpot). It's actually planned to have a Kickstarter campaign, which launches May 17, but with a game as popular as Apex, it's pretty likely to be successfully funded.


In the game, you'll play as a Legend, four of which are included in the main set, as you attempt to take out other players or teams, with sessions lasting roughly an hour each time. While the game's board itself hasn't been shown off yet, or what it will actually be like to play the game, a press release promises a "fully-immersive, three-dimensional environment taken straight from the screen."

Apex Legends' Revelry update has improved Respawn Entertainment's battle royale shooter immensely, however, this FPS' new Team Deathmatch mode is still suffering from a quitting problem - despite the fact that Apex Legends' Team Deathmatch got a speedy and vital update just days after it was released. This quitting problem isn't just a pain in the Ash, though - it's actually ruining the mode for quite a few of you. However, Riot Games' MOBA League of Legends could just hold the solution - or one solution to this problem. All Apex Legends needs to do is introduce a 'Vote to Surrender' system.


Now, we know what you're thinking - and we whole-heartedly agree. No one wants to surrender in Apex Legends, or any game for that matter. But, voting to end the game early is surely an improvement on spending the remainder of a match battling against an opposing team with twice as many members.


Well, we know it can be easier to overturn a handicap and win in Apex Legends compared to League of Legends, and there are often leaving penalties applied in LoL. but it's really all about numbers. Whether you're playing one of the best competitive FPS games out there or not, you're going to have a tough time of things if you're a player down on your team.

Apex Legends' Team Deathmatch mode has a quitting problem. Initially, this iteration of TDM was round-based; without any leave penalties, if one team was losing badly in round one, they would leave and unbalance the teams even further going into the second round. Unexpectedly, Respawn Entertainment did implement some changes where Apex Legends' Team Deathmatch got a speedy and vital update - essentially removing the round-based scoring in favour of a traditional one-round system.
