Apex Legends' Golden Ticket is your key to a new Season 15 teaser

We know over a quarter of Apex Legends' top players are now using Horizon, which is a lot, but that doesn't mean it isn't one of the best battle royale games out there right now - because it really is. If you're wondering why are we saying that this time around, it's because of the rather unusual Apex Legends' Golden Ticket item players are starting to see pop up in their Replicator menu.

Respawn Entertainment hasn't confirmed anything just yet, but the Apex Legends' Golden Ticket special item appears to be something of a teaser for Season 15 and the content we're expecting to see added to this battle royale shooter. Oh, and it's a pretty great way to get your hands on a golden gun in-game - because the Replicator throws one of them out at you as well.

How do we know this is a teaser for Season 15, though? Well, because this seems to be all about the long-rumoured new moon map that Apex Legends fans are expecting to see introduced in the next major content update. The Golden Ticket special item itself actually has a description explaining that it is "a ticket to see the new home of the Apex Games". You can check this out in screenshots, courtesy of AlphaIntel, here.

Here's when Apex Legends' Gun Run returns in Fight or Fright event

If we had to decide on one thing that makes Apex Legends one of the best battle royale games out there right now, it would be the limited time modes on offer during events. Even if the core BR experience is excellent, these LTMs are almost always a delight. That's why we're so stoked to let you know that Apex Legends' Shadow Royale LTM is being replaced by the game's Gun Run LTM for week two of the spooky Fight Or Fright Halloween event.

Yeah, you're reading that right. Apex Legends is swapping out the Fright of Shadow Royale for the Fight of Gun Run and players will be able to jump into this game mode for a whole week starting on October 11.

If you're sitting there looking for some specifics, Respawn Entertainment hasn't confirmed the exact time the swap is being made. However, we're under the impression that it will be at the same time as every other Apex Legends update. That means, Gun Run should return on October 11 at 10:00 PST / 13:00 EST / 17:00 BST.

Over a quarter of Apex Legends' top players are now using Horizon

Introduced in Apex Legends' seventh season, named Ascension, Horizon is one legend that's found her place as a firm fan-favourite - with players taking to her like a duck does to water. With a tragically dark backstory, fantastic jokes told by the talented Elle Newlands, and a kit that quite literally defies gravity, it's easy to see why. However, it seems that she's only growing more popular with each update - and each new face. Right now, just shy of two years since she was added to Respawn Entertainment's battle royale, Horizon is enjoying her highest pick rate in a long time - maybe even ever.

Looking at Apex Legends Status, across all ranks and modes, Horizon is currently enjoying a 7.7% pick rate, which is down somewhat from a high of over 8.5% in September 2022. However, this 7.7% pick rate is still much higher than her average pick rate for the entirety of Season 13 and before.

To make matters even more interesting, Horizon is actually the most popular legend for players trying to climb Apex Legends' ranks in Platinum and above - by quite some margin, in some cases. For players in Gold and below, she's one of the top five most popular legends - interestingly joined by Octane, Wraith, Bloodhound, and Pathfinder.

This Week in Apex Legends news: rockets, roller coasters, and ranked

Well, what a week it's been. We know Apex Legends is one of the best battle royale games out there right now, but it can be hard to keep up with everything that's going on with Respawn Entertainment's shooter - especially when all we can think about is the new Modern Warfare 2 trailer. However, if you're looking for a quick run-down on everything that's happened, we have you covered. Here's what you need to know regarding Apex Legends news this week.

First things first, as it's finally Spooktober, we need to talk about the Apex Legends Fight or Fright event that kicked off on October 4. For this event, Respawn Entertainment is bringing back Shadow Royale with a brand new map - Olympus After Dark - and a selection of terrifying Halloween-themed skins for players to spend their Apex Coins on. Interestingly, rather than introduce a two-week Reward Track for this event, Apex Legends players can look forward to four weeks of rotating LTM playlists throughout the month.

Starting with the spooky Shadow Royale, players will be able to dive back into the popular Gun Run LTM from October 11 on Estates After Dark, Skulltown, and Fragment East. Then, from October 18, Control returns on Lava Siphon, Barometer, and Labs After Dark. At the end of the month, from October 25, players will be able to jump back into Shadow Royale on Olympus After Dark one more time.
