KartRider: Drift News

As previously announced, with the August 28 (PT) maintenance, KartRider: Drift have deployed an update that will split the South Korean and Taiwanese PC service from the Global, Console, and Mobile service, which will be ending in late February 2025 (final date TBD).

It is with heavy hearts that we announce this to all of the Racers who have been with us throughout the run of KartRider: Drift. It has been an absolute pleasure to work on this game, and to see you enjoy every piece of our hard work.

Global / Console / Mobile Service Termination Details:

• K-COIN Purchase Termination: As of the August 28 (PT) Service Split Update, K-COIN is no longer be purchasable for any currency.
  • Any already acquired K-COIN will still be usable after the update, up until the final end of service in February 2025.
  • K-COIN, when used, will be consumed in the order of Paid, then Free, then Obtained through events.
• New Download Termination: As of the August 28 (PT) Service Split Update, KartRider: Drift is no longer be downloadable by new players.
  • This includes PC, Mobile, and Console, across all stores.
  • Those that have already downloaded KartRider: Drift in the past will still be able to download the game client and play until the final end of service in February 2025.
  • [Update 2:30 AM UTC AUG 29] Racers on iOS that wish to continue playing KartRider: Drift will need to delete their existing installation and then re-download it again from the library in your iOS Store account in order to receive the current update.
• Global / Console / Mobile Service Termination: The final end of service is currently planned for late February 2025.
  • Exact date will be announced at a later date.
  • After the final end of service, KartRider: Drift will no longer be accessible outside of the South Korean and Taiwanese PC service.
  • Console guest accounts will no longer be linkable.

With the August 28 (PT) Update, the KartRider: Drift service will be split in two:

• South Korean and Taiwanese PC Service
• Global/Console/Mobile Service

 
Racers on Console and Mobile devices, as well as all Racers outside of South Korea and Taiwan, will still be able to play KartRider: Drift until early 2025 without issue, and will still be able to match and join custom races with other Racers. Additional changes for the Service Split include:

• KartRider: Drift will no longer be downloadable by new players.
• K-COIN will no longer be purchasable for any currency.
• Web Coupon pages will no longer be available.
• The Ranked Queue will conclude with this update.
• Time Attack Rankings and Replay files will be reset.

[Update 2:30 AM UTC AUG 29] Thank you for your patience during this longer-than-normal maintenance. All Racers that log into KartRider: Drift before 12:00 AM UTC on September 1, 2024 will receive a 10,000 Lucci compensation bonus.

KartRider: Drift will undergo maintenance for 11 hours on August 28, starting at 8:00 AM PT.

Maintenance Duration:

• PDT (UTC -7): 8:00 AM August 28 - 7:00 PM August 28
• CEST (UTC +2): 5:00 PM August 28 - 4:00 AM August 29
• JST (UTC +9): 12:00 AM August 29 - 11:00 AM August 29
• AEST (UTC +10): 1:00 AM August 29 - 12:00 PM August 29
