Update V1.024

Hi Folks.

Just a small update to address a couple of issues.

  • New: Available Character Points

We have added a text field to the Unit Card and the Unit Token to replace the Level Up icon with the actual number of Character Points the unit has available. An example is shown below:

  • New Items: Magical Shuriken

Magical +1 to +5 variants are now available.

  • Changed: Final Boss

A few players have found the final boss to be too difficult. We have modified his behavior to try and make him more balanced.

  • Fixed: Market Item Tooltips

On occasion the tooltip displayed over an item could reflect the usage value of a previously selected unit instead of the current unit. [Internal Bug].

Please let us know if you have any problems with the update and we hope you enjoy the changed features.

All the best.

Update V1.023

Hi Folks.

In this update we have changed a couple of behaviors to improve the overall game play and added a new spell.

  • Changed: Scrolls - Copying

Scrolls can now be copied to the Spellbook (for Arcane and Planar scrolls) without the risk of failure. A unit may not be able to cast the spell if it is not of sufficient level. The spell will be available for use as soon as the unit reaches the appropriate level.

  • Changed: Scrolls - Casting

Units now have a much improved chance of casting a spell from a scroll where the spell is of a higher level than they can normally cast.

  • Changed: Neutral Units

Any neutral unit that is a potential enemy will now become an enemy immediately if it is harmed by an area effect spell cast by the player (e.g. fireball).

  • New: Fire Bolt spell/ability

Available as Arcane 1 and Planar 1. Has a range of 1-4!

Please let us know if you have any problems with the update and we hope you enjoy the changed features.

All the best.

Update V1.022

Hi All.

This update introduces a new feature as well as two-handed weapons for 'small' units and a few changes to certain game play situations.

  • New Feature: Add 'Specialized' to the Inventory Usability Filter

A new option has been added to the Usability filter found on the Unit Inventory Dialog, the Market Dialog at Velarin when purchasing new items and the Loot Dialog when collecting treasure. The option allows you to filter displayed items to show those that match a unit's Weapon Specialization settings.

Additionally the Loot Dialog has added usability filters (1, 2 below) and has been slightly redesigned to accommodate the new changes by moving the Transfer All Loot.... button to the top of the screen (3).

  • New Items: We have added Lesser Greatsword, Lesser Greataxe, Half Halberd, Nomad's Bow (composite bow), Simaran Bow (longbow), Te yari (spear). All are 2-handed or large weapons that can be used by 'small' units (e.g. gnomes). This is to address a design oversight where a small unit could choose such a weapon for a Weapon Specialization but could never equip one.

Additionally, the Partisan and Pitchfork have been changed to be usable by small units.

  • Changed: The Door Dialog (shown below) has been changed to make handling doors a bit easier. Doors can now be locked, unlocked, attempted pick and attempted force open by multiple units per turn. So, for example, if Unit 1 fails to force a door open, it can move aside and Unit 2 can make an attempt.

  • Changed: The Corrupted Owlbear's melee sound has been altered to something more appropriate.

  • Changed: The Psionic Stun spell/ability now has a saving throw against the target's Intelligence.

Please let us know if you have any problems with the update and we hope you enjoy the new features.

Happy New Year to you all and thank you for all your support in 2021.

All the best.

Update V1.021

Hi All.

This update introduces two new features as requested by the Community and fixes a bug that we have found during testing.

  • New Feature: Hide Unit Class Markers

New parameters have been added to the Player Options Dialog as shown below:

Changing the parameters will allow you to hide/show the Unit Class Markers (wa, cl, ma, etc.) on the unit tokens on the battlefield and/or the unit cards anchored to the sides of the screen. The options can be different for the player units and the enemy/neutral units.

  • New Feature: Open The Unit Dialog Via Keyboard If No Unit Selected

On the battlefield, if no unit is selected, pressing an appropriate key (e.g. the 'I' key to open the unit inventory) will select the top unit card in the stack on the left of the screen, the matching unit token on the battlefield and display the relevant dialog.

Note that if the dialog is not relevant (e.g. pressing the key to invoke the Spellbook for a non-spellcaster), no dialog will be displayed but the top unit will be selected. This is the same as the current keyboard behavior for a selected unit.

  • Fixed: When collecting loot, dragging and dropping an item within the boundaries of the Party Backpack could lose the item. [Internal Bug]

Please let us know if you have any problems with the update and we hope you enjoy the new features.

All the best.

Update V1.020

Hi Folks.

The latest minor update addresses a small problem with the Custom Portraits folder. The help comment on the Choose Portrait Dialog did not detail the folder location correctly (it should be /Documents/Paphian Games/Portraits).

We have also made some changes to the Weapon Loadouts section of the Unit Dialog to cover some unusual events that might occur when swapping loadout items back and forth between the loadout slots.

Please let us know if you have any issues with the update.

All the best.
