ARMOURY, GUN GAME & MINIGAMES UPDATE (1.14 - Part 1)

This is the first of a two part update— in the second part I'll be adding weapon inspect animations and some more game modes (potentially)

Weapon Skins

I've heard your feedback and a lot of you seemed to want the ability to customise your guns!



My friend Juan and I have been putting together 9 new gun skins over the past week. There's:
  • Galaxy Set (AK, Kingfisher)
  • Futuristic Set (Kingfisher, Frenzy, Sniper)
  • Scrolling Rainbow Set (Kingfisher, AK, Frenzy, Sniper)


Of course, the slate carbon fibre gun wrap skins still also work
  • AK
  • ACR
  • Launcher
  • Frenzy
  • Banana gun
  • Sniper




It's now possible to toggle skins with a new UI in the armoury

3 New minigames

Added 3 new minigames to all free-for-all maps!


[h3]Gun game[/h3]
Each kill = new gun

Start off with a frenzy, and work your way up to a poison gun and the no longer unlockable Snowball Machine Gun!


[h3]Infinite abilities[/h3]

All your abilities are infinite in this game mode. This means infinite heals, jetpack, dashes, etc.



[h3]Coop[/h3]
Work to eliminate explosive bots that spawn around the map! The more players in a lobby, the more bots are spawned. Great for XP as well :)

  • Various fixes and improvements

Paint Warfare Hotfix (1.13.1)

Fixes
  • Fixed a bug that caused the fire sound to keep playing if you sprinted
  • Lag optimisation
  • Fixed the jetpack
  • Improved the glider SFX

HANG GLIDERS and Content MEGA UPDATE (1.13)

This update's focus was to add as much new content as possible, improve translations and polish up the game.

Gas Gun (Rank 13)


Everything is legal in Paint Warfare.

This is why I've introduced the gas gun.
  • Deals tick damage
  • Damage decreases with distance from the enemy
  • Generous amount of ammo


Overall its a very powerful weapon,— but it's only good at close range and requires a lot of tracking to keep your crosshair over your enemy.

Armoury Improvements

I've cleaned up the armoury and improved the usability of hats and costumes.


  • Buying hats has been moved to the shop
  • Select hats by dragging the hat options at the bottom
  • Added 3 new hats


FREE Daily Coins: New Shop UI
  • You now get 10 coins daily on top of daily challenges
  • You can now purchase a 3-hour XP boost with coins. This stacks with the supporter boost and the 2x XP game mode


Glider

Added a new ability: the glider

  • If you've ever played Minecraft it feels fairly similar to that
  • Double press space to fly
  • You can climb slowly by looking up
  • Point the glider down to pick up speed


Translations

Improved all translations. The game is now fully translated to
  • Polish
  • Russian
  • Spanish
  • French
  • Dutch
  • German


Bug Fixes
  • Fixed the out-of-bounds glitch
  • Fixed a bug with costumes
  • Network and performance improvements

Paint Warfare GUNS & GAMEPLAY UPDATE (1.12)

Hello again!

This update I wanted to focus on adding some new unique weapons & polishing up the gameplay. There are a number of fixes and changes in this update so it's worth reading through :)


New Weapons


[h3]TELEPORTER[/h3]

Introducing the teleporter!

Fire a cosmic orb with left-click, and right-click at any time to teleport to it. This gun should open up some awesome new gameplay opportunities, especially in terms of movement and strategy.

Unlocks at rank 11.

[h3]BURST[/h3]

Sturdy and reliable; knock out enemies with Paint Warfare's first burst weapon!

Pre-unlocked for everyone.

[h3]RAILGUN CHANGES[/h3]
  • Increased the fire rate of the railgun to be faster than the sniper
  • Increased the knockback of the railgun (this can be a good thing)
  • Added a slight charge delay before firing the railgun to make it more challenging to use


Overall, if you have it unlocked, I've differentiated the rail gun more from the sniper, and it'll now give you an advantage over the sniper provided you are able to master it.


Butter Smooth Connection

I've done a lot of optimisation to the net code, so the game uses ~60% less bandwidth now.

[h3]What this means is[/h3]
  • Lower ping
  • Less lag, disconnects and stuttering



QoL and Polish
  • Gun type is now displayed in the killfeed
  • DOUBLE YOUR FPS: On macs or high-resolution monitors with this new resolution option
  • Added some more names to the credits


Bug fixes
  • Fixed an exploit where you could switch to your secondary in spoon only
  • Improved the syncing of gunshot sounds (like the minigun)
  • Removed floor is lava from all FFA maps; it will now only be available in team deathmatch
  • New SFX for lava
  • Above lava respawn points during the floor is lava game mode
  • Fixed team spawns in Factory
  • Fixed player counters in the menu

Development Update: FIXED Paint Warfare Connection Issues (1.11.5)

Hello everyone.

Thanks for reporting connection bugs with yesterday's patch, these should all be fixed now.

Connection Fixes
  • Fixed players stuttering and freezing
  • Fixed a bug that caused the game to lose connection to the server, where shooting would not work
  • Various other improvements


Note
  • There will now be a slight delay when eliminating enemies, this is normal while I'm reworking the prediction system


Other Improvements
  • The buttons in the map select will now click
  • Visual improvements to the rank-up screen
  • Tutorial level improvements
