Resident Evil Village modder creates even harder difficulty mode than Village of Shadows

While Resident Evil Village is one of the best horror games around and is certainly more than enough of a challenge for most players, especially with its unlockable Village of Shadows difficulty mode, one modder has decided that the game's still not tough enough - and so has added their own even-harder difficulty mode.

The new Resident Evil Village "madness" difficulty level is a mod created by Exqray and is available on Nexus Mods. While Village of Shadows is undoubtedly challenging enough for most players, now that the game's been out a little while, more experienced gamers have unlocked the toughest weapons and infinite ammo cheats, so some will undoubtedly be looking for a step up even from Village of Shadows. Exqray suggests that RE8's current hardest difficulty "can be completed in around four to five hours," or less if players are using cheats or New Game Plus mode.

The Madness difficulty level changes all that by creating an even tougher challenge. All enemies and even bosses have had their health greatly increased and their speed slightly upped, and what's scarier, all the player's weapons have had their damage levels slightly reduced too. So enemies take a load more hits, can dodge a lot more, and Ethan's weapons aren't as good any more. Eek.

Resident Evil producer Peter Fabiano leaves Capcom for Bungie

Peter Fabiano, founder of Global Production at Capcom, Japan, and producer of the recent Resident Evil games, has left Capcom to work at Bungie. He spent 13 years at Capcom, notably as the producer on Resident Evil 7, the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and 3, and Village, while he also played the part of Peter Walken in Resi 7. (He was one of the paranormal investigators, brutally murdered by Mia Winters.)..

Resident Evil Village modded to make Lady Dimitrescu even taller

Given the space in horny jail taken up by devotees of Resident Evil Village's Lady Dimitrescu, everyone was expecting the nude mods - but somehow the possibility of a mod to make her even taller had not entered my mind. Yet, of course, it's happened. For those of you who simply aren't satisfied with being murdered by a 9'6" tall vampire woman, you can now make her even taller.

xRaq's Taller Alcina Dimitrescu mod is available on Nexus Mods, and it does exactly what the name suggests. You download it, extract it to your mods folder, and Lady D gains another few feet of height, making her a little bit taller than the bottom of the chandelier in the castle foyer. The mod will work with any alternate appearance mods, too, so if you've got an alternate outfit for Alcina (Lord give me strength) you should be good to go.

There's also a mod to make Lady Dimitrescu normal height. I can't decide which of these mods is more ridiculous and spent about 45 minutes this afternoon trying to decide which one would make the better absurd mod headline. I hope I've made the right choice, but I'll never be 100% convinced.
