Alpha 0.7.0 - Rendezvous Update

Hi!

The Rendezvous Update brings new encounters, UI improvements, new cards and equipment.
Other small content updates will also drop in the coming days.

[h3]New cards and mechanics[/h3]

The new Synergy mechanic allows you increase the card effects if you have another card in your hand with the same word in the title or synergy wording. It can also be applied to mechanic names or card rarity:


For example, if you have Plasma Affinity in your hand, the card itself will count as one 'Plasma' card in hand, but if you have another card with 'Plasma' in the name, it will also give the effect on number 2.

With 'uncommon synergy' it counts if you have any uncommon cards in hand and 'Ignite Synergy' applies to all cards with the Ignite mechanic in your hand.

Other new cards (some art is temporary):


With 'dual cards' you can choose which effect you want, so they become more versatile but not as powerful.

[h3]New encounters[/h3]


You can now encounter big space habitats, selling cards, equipment and also repair facilities, card scraping options and refueling.

The distress signal in the system map will also give new encounters and options.

The casino station is not yet available but it will be online in the next few days.



[h3]Card Changes:[/h3]
  • Ammunition Spares now has a 'Scrap card' effect
  • New cards (shown above)
  • New Equipment cards: Ram Upgrade, Emergency Charger


[h3]Gameplay Changes:[/h3]
  • Hardcore Mode (will probably be balanced a lot in the coming weeks)
  • You can now repair 10HP or more in the space stations
  • New encounters: Space Habitat, Space Wreck, Crate 'Radar Scan' result
  • If you run out of fuel, you will lose 30% of your credits in exchange for 5 fuel
  • You can only find one Temple Ruins per system


[h3]Other bug fixes and improvements:[/h3]
  • SFX system during combat has been improved. Let us know if you are still have sound issues or performance related issues.
  • New Music Tracks!
  • New UI for the equipment tab
  • 'AI Supremacy' card sound issue
  • Fixed an issue with the ship moving in the map while you are still in other encounter window.
  • Other minor issues


I will keep adding new content in the coming days since they need a bit more testing.

New update coming soon

The Rendezvous update will be the next big content patch coming next week.



New encounters will be introduced, from big space habitats to orbital casinos.

The new 'hardcore' mode will also be made available, along with new cards and equipment.

More information about this update will be coming later this week.

Meanwhile a few patches will drop in the coming days with some minor fixes.

Alpha 0.6.3 - New cards, more balance changes and options

Hello!

This version brings some new content, features and fixes, so here it goes:

Two new cards, and a new mechanic called Synergy.



In this case Uncommon Synergy applies when you have 1 or more uncommon cards in hand.
Since the card itself is uncommon, it does at least the effect on 1, but if you have another uncommon card in your hand, it also executes the effect on 2.

There will be more Synergy cards coming later.

[h2]Card changes:[/h2]
  • 'AI Supremacy' now Deactivates, so you can only use it once per combat
  • Two new cards, Mass Driver and Modular Cannon


[h3]New Content:[/h3]
  • The 4th and 5th system bosses now have damage sprites
  • New stations on the 3rd and 4th system
  • You can now control the volume of music and sfx
  • New display options and you can now resize your game window
  • You can change the font to a regular vectorial font, or back to the pixel art font.
  • New 'play deck' icon, where you can see what cards are in your deck, while in combat.


[h3]Other fixes:[/h3]
  • Some issues with equipment cards have now been fixed, from proper working buffs to color coding when activating an equipment.
  • Bosses were not doing proper damage, and now have been fixed to the 'regular' difficulty
  • Difficulty has been increased for some specific 'disable card' strategies.
  • Performance optimizations for older computers or specific set of hardware configurations


Still a lot of known issues to fix, so expect smaller patches in the coming days.

Alpha 0.6.2 - The Balance update

Hello!

This version brings a long list of card changes, new enemy mechanics and bug fixes.
  • Several equipment cards are no working correctly
  • Ignite now deals 2 damage per turn
  • You can now see your deck list while in the big market station or regular stations
  • New enemy debuff, 'Shield Interference' that reduces your max shields
  • New enemy buff, 'Disruptor Field' that makes the ship impervious do 'disable' effects
  • You can now skip cards that are received in crates or temple runs.
  • Enemies now have an 'enrage' mode, if you take too long to kill them, they can either try to escape or start giving more damage!
  • 'Shields charge' effect increased by 1
  • 'AI supremacy' price reduced to $299 but expect this card to be nerfed in the near future...
  • 'Extreme prejudice' also gives bonus damage when ship is on fire (from ignite ability)
  • 'Inspiring Resilience' now gives 5 shields
  • 'Ion Pulse' now also draws a card
  • Explosive mechanic now gives 100% damage to ship hull
  • 'Plasma Wave' increased to 5 damage and 'Plasma Napalm' increased to 10.
  • 'Power Reroute' now deactivates all your hand
  • 'Repair drones' now repair 8hp but deactivates.
  • 'Special circumstances' now deal 40 damage to bosses
  • 'Thief Drone' now also draws a card
  • 'Time to Think' now costs 0
  • 'Twisted Firestarter' has increased to ignite 3
  • 'Weapons charged' now also draws a card
  • 'Flak Gun' increased to 7 damage to one enemy and 3 damage to all
  • Several minor bug fixes!


Because of the big list of gameplay changes, there are more adjustments coming soon and probably some bugs introduced.

Next week there is going to be more content with new cards, encounters and locations.

Alpha 0.6.0 introducing a new playable ship

Hello!

The 3rd playable ship is now available, you just need to defeat the boss in the 3rd system to unlock it!



It's a knife-drone carrier, so the starting deck only has drones as an offensive weapon. While the ship is harder to play in the first systems it gets more powerful in the late game with more equipment capacity.

Also, the launch discount on Steam is ending in less than 2 hours, and there won't be any price discounts for the next few months!

Here is a list of updates:
  • 'KD Carrier' ship is now available
  • Increased the probability of the 'scrap card' option on space stations
  • Increased the energy cost of some 'disable' type cards
  • There are 7 new equipment cards that can be bought in market stations
  • 'Unlimited Power' and 'Bribe' cards should now work correctly
  • Minor UI improvements
  • Small performance improvements during combat
