Patch 0.9.5a

Small patch fixing some of the reported bugs:

  • Reckless Attack no longer makes you discard more cards that usual
  • Some player debuffs should be working properly
  • Scrapping cards at the regular stations no longer give you back 20 credits
  • The offensive effect of the hand lock down should happen more often, in elite enemies and bosses
  • The equipment seller random event should now appear more often
  • Dual cards should now work properly, this includes cards like Fight or Flight and Cauterizing Beam not repeating previously used effects
  • Other small issues


More fixes and features coming in a couple of days.

Anniversary Update

It's been one year since For The Warp released on Steam early access.

The 1.0 release is planned for this summer, but more details will be revealed in the coming months.

Here are the new items introduced in today's patch:

- 4 new cards:


- 5 new equipment cards with one 'special' addition:


The new type of equipment works as an upgrade, making one extra equipment slot available, for a maximum of 5 equipment slots per ship. Once you buy the equipment, the upgrade is applied but the equipment destroyed.


  • New random encounter: A Coralis spaceship that sells just equipment cards.
  • Aurum Reaper damage has been increased to 8
  • Panic Crew and Negotiations should now properly change the Ion Attack enemy intent
  • Gravitas now deals the correct damage equal to the full size of your deck
  • Several bugs on equipment cards were fixed and should be working properly
  • Mass Driver no longer locks the game when you no longer have cards in your play deck
  • Energy Plating has been reworked to be a more useful card
  • More equipment cards now drop on the market stations when you arrive at a new system
  • Other minor fixes

Balance changes

Alpha 0.9.4 brings several small changes to cards, ships and others:

  • Standard Frigate HP increased to 85 and starting Fuel increased to 15
  • KD Carrier HP increased to 65
  • Ignite/Fire effects now deal the same damage as the number of turns the effect lasts. If the fire effect lasts 3 turns it will deal 3 damage, then 2 damage and so on. This will give a big damage reward when you stack ignite dots.
  • Missile MK11 damage increased to 12
  • Inspiring shot damage increased to 6
  • Rocket Salvo now deals 18 damage and you buy a card
  • Orbiting shield drones increased to +3 shield capacity
  • Drone Attack Wave and Drone Boost now launch a drone if you have no drones
  • Point Defense will no longer drop during play, it's now only a starter deck card
  • Reckless Attack damage increased to 25
  • Heavy Drone is now 5/2
  • Management Expert now also gives you 2 Boost points
  • Lowered the price of some common cards
  • Small bug fixes, Support ships are now back to working properly

Metaverse Update part II

Hello travellers!

In part II of the Metaverse Update new enemy ships and enemy mechanics are introduced.

First the new enemy type, the Missile Cruiser, that launches missile drones that after a couple turns deal a powerful blow to player ships.



There are also new offensive effects that enemy ships can do:

- The Ion Attack is a new enemy intent, that completely removes all shields from the player.
- Bosses and elite enemies can now have a Cloak buff that lasts only one turn, but you cannot target the enemy ship while cloaked
- The Offensive Effect can also create a card hand lock down, locking up to 3 hand cards, counting from the right side, that you cannot play.



There is also a new Upgrade card, the Kinetic Barrier:

Since there have been several changes to the core mechanics of the game, next week there will be an update with some balance changes to cards and maybe even some player ship stats changes.

Upcoming updates

Hello!

The Metaverse Update Part II is coming soon bringing new player requested features.

There will be more combat variations with new enemies, debuffs and different enemy attacks and behaviors.



Also a couple of new Upgrade cards are coming and some changes to how events are triggered, so there will be less repeated random events in the same system.

The new update should be dropping next week!
