Playtesters needed for the next 1.2 update

I'm in need for a couple of serious playtesters that want to try out the new non-linear gameplay and procedural planet generation of the upcoming 1.2 release, a.k.a. the Supermassive Black Hole update ːsteamhappyː

If you interested in helping me out (and already own a copy of the game) then please send me a message.

News on the next big 1.2 update

Hello explorers,

It's been a while since the last news bit on Earth Analog but rest assured: I'm still around and have been working hard on the next big (free) update: 1.2. which is expected Q1 2022!

Here follows an overview of the key features of the upcoming 1.2 update.

Procedurally generated galaxy

In addition to the existing planets of the game's linear quest the v1.2 update will introduce a fully procedurally generated galaxy consisting of randomly generated planetary systems. Discover thousands of unique systems on your way to a supermassive black hole. Go where you please and explore at your own pace.

Disembark

Disembark your spaceship and explore the fractal planets on foot. This adds whole new level of immersion to the game. Visit exoplanetary beaches, dynamic mountain ranges, living craters, etc.

Knowledge System

Collect data samples and complete knowledge studies to unlock new star sectors.

Autoland

With autoland, landing will become a quick routine. Flight in general will be easier in 1.2.

Improved planetary tech

The update will add many new phenomena, like binary and ternary star systems, different class stars, gas giants, weather, etc.

And more

1.2 will also bring a revamped UI, improved controls and many small improvements and tweaks.

This concludes the sneak peek at the upcoming 1.2. I'm very excited about this update and I hope you will be too. If you have any questions please post them below!

Cheers,
nkm

Patch v1.1.3

Hi explorers,

Another patch, this one focusing on Simplified Chinese localization and some bug fixes:

  • new: Chinese (CN) localisation.
  • changed: after death the ship now respawns with at least 50% hull condition.
  • changed: one can now jump back to the cube field inside the machine.
  • fixed: ship speed and rotation was not always reset to zero at reload.
  • fixed: issue that caused a beacon not to activate.
  • fixed: various locale related issues.

In the meantime the next big update of the game is shaping up to be something very special! The new random solar system generator is producing awesome results and I'm also very excited by to tell you more about this new research-based game mechanic.

Thanks again for your feedback.

Take care,
nkm
