Introducing Julien Solomita as Rodent NPC Gustav Gondasa!

THE TIME HAS COME, TRAVELERS!

We’re incredibly excited to announce that talented creator Julien Solomita is making his voice-acting debut in Kristala as Gustav Gondasa: a spunky and adventurous Hemani who will be the first friendly rodent face you meet along your journey across Ailur.

Gustav is a prominent NPC with an important questline that will gradually unravel as you traverse the six clan lands and complete your Raksaka Proving. He also introduces a new food mechanic, allowing you to craft delectable recipes and enjoy consumable snack items on the go.

But that’s not all! We’re also proud to announce a special charitable collaboration in honor of Julien’s involvement in Kristala. During select promotional periods, profits from both game sales and related merch will be donated to the Pasadena Humane Society to aid in their work supporting displaced animals affected by the recent LA wildfires. 🐾❤️

Julien’s overarching passion for animal welfare doesn’t just align with our own goals to give back to the animals who've inspired our beloved characters; his deep connection to the city of Los Angeles makes this initiative that much more meaningful and impactful.

We can’t wait to share more details with you—including a behind-the-scenes peek at Julien’s involvement in the game and the larger role Gustav will play throughout, plus some related merch goodies we’re currently cookin’ up. There’s so much more to come!

For now, we hope you enjoy our official collaboration announcement, where you’ll get a first look (and listen!) at Julien’s performance as Gustav!

If this exciting collaboration makes you just as hype as we are to unveil it, don’t forget to share on socials and leave us some love in the replies. STAY TUNED!

MAJOR New Content Update Coming in February 🙀

Greetings, dearest Travelers!

February is officially around the corner, and we're gearing up for a MAJOR content update that will be dropping very soon right here on Steam.

What new content can you expect next month? We're so glad you asked! Here's a rundown of the fresh features and new mechanics comin' your way:

  • Addition of an Important new NPC & ongoing questline
  • Initial implementation of a fully redesigned Menu / UI system
  • New mechanics tied to Food items (snackable consumables and dish recipes!)
  • Tools & Tool Crafting Menu added (did someone say throwing knives?!)
  • Projectile-Throwing & Climbing Enemies - and yes, they can climb onto rooftops, too...
  • Dodge attacks + quicker takedowns to go along with the existing, slow-mo ones
  • Filling in of existing animation gaps (more realistic parkour movements & NPC dialogue interactions, refined enemy spawn movements, etc.)
  • Chapter I Localized in 4 key languages: French, German, Spanish LATAM, and Brazilian Portuguese)

When we say, "important new NPC & questline," we really mean it! Over the last few months, we've been quietly working on an EPIC new collaboration with a very popular YouTuber in the gaming space.

Who is this mystery collaborator? We'll be revealing that early next week, but they'll be making their voice-acting debut in Kristala as Gustav Gondasa, a spirited rodent with a penchant for rare nuts who will play an important role throughout the entirety of the game.

We'll be sharing more insight into all the new goodies we've lovingly packed into this update when we officially unveil the mystery Traveler who will be bringing Gustav to life, but here's a sneak peek at his full character model to hold you over until then.

BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE! With this next big update on deck for February, the release for our third Chapter has officially been pushed back to March 2025 - and we promise the wait will be well worth it.

Not only will this next installment feature the biome for our ice-magic clan, the Tandarans, but it's also the first open world-style level in Kristala, which means you can expect to roam the tundras of Tandar on your trusty CANINE STEED!

That's just the tip of the iceberg (pun def intended) for what's in store for Kristala this year, and we'll be sharing lots more details as our future launches approach. For now, check out the revised Early Access Roadmap, which has officially been updated to accommodate all our upcoming launches.

As always, you can find this Timeline right on the main description of the Kristala Steam store page, as well as on our website. Stay tuned!
