[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Watch the latest gameplay trailer and see how you can take life by the reins. The Sims™ 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack* launches July 20 at 10 a.m. PT.

Order through August 31 to receive the Rockin’ Rancher Digital Content**: a resonator guitar, wagon wheel art, and a rustic rocking chair.

Carve out the ranch life you want in the Horse Ranch Expansion Pack. You’ll be able to choose from different ranch styles – like traditional cabin and big red barn – and you'll have lots of options for what you can do on your land. Host dances and cookouts, invite neighbors to see how cute your mini goats and mini sheep are, make and sell your own Nectar, and even hire a ranch hand to help out.

One of the most special experiences waiting for you in this pack is living life with majestic horses. Horses are part of your Sims’ families and can be customized in Create a Sim or born as adorable foals on your ranch. You can also add new horses to your family by rescuing or purchasing them. Once horses are in your family they’ll be able to build their own skills in Agility and Jumping. When paired with the right rider a skilled horse can earn awards at the Equestrian Center, so make sure your Sims are honing their riding skills too!

*Requires The Sims 4 & all game updates. See minimum system requirements for the pack.

The Sims 5 job listing seems to imply it will be free-to-play with user generated content

It's looking like The Sims 5, otherwise known as Project Rene, will be free-to-play at launch, based on a recent job listing.

As reported by fansite Sims Community, a job posting for a head of monetisation and marketplace from EA shared on the Maxis Careers page has shared some details on the monetisation option that will possibly be available in The Sims 5. The job posting is still listed on the careers page, though it can't be viewed at the time of writing. It lists the typical kinds of responsibilities you'd expect for such a job role, but most notably it details how The Sims 5's in-game marketplace might work.

"Own Project Rene’s in-game marketplace of content and UGC (free and paid), and manage a data-informed player-centric player purchase journey," reads one of the responsibilities. "Maximising value to players, optimising player spend patterns, and minimising player churn." Things could easily change by the time of launch, but the wording does potentially imply that UGC, or user generated content, can be paid, which might mean that there are plans for players to be able to earn money from the game.

The Sims 4 will be letting Simmers horse around with neigh-bors in new Horse Ranch DLC

Horses will finally be returning to the Sims series, with a new Horse Ranch Expansion Pack being announced for The Sims 4, arriving on July 20.

Rumours surrounding equestrian-activities in The Sims 4 have been around for a while, but EA finally confirmed the news by sharing a new trailer detailing The Sims 4 Horse Ranch Expansion Pack. There’ll be a new American West-inspired world, mini goats and sheep (which are so cute), and of course, horses that you can raise and train in your own ranch.

The new world, Chestnut Ridge, is a scenic piece of countryside ideal for Simmers to start up their own ranch, cottage, or cabin. It looks like a great addition for those who dream of starting up a farm in The Sims 4, too, with an array of animals to rear.
