Here are the updates made to Shadow Arena during the maintenance on August 8, 2020 (Sat).

We’ve made improvements for a server instability issue after the August 6th update. We had delayed changes for the start of round 2 and implemented them in one update, but we discovered some issues and decided to include some balance adjustments with the bug fixes today.



- Shield of Heidel (RMB): Changed the skill to no longer consume stamina when moving while using the skill.
- Shield of Heidel (RMB): Fixed an issue where stamina was not consumed when attacked while moving with the skill active.
- Shield of Heidel (RMB): Reduced the stamina consumed when attacked while using the skill from 15% to 10%.

It seems the guard nerf was too harsh, so we adjusted the skill to no longer consume stamina while moving and to consume less stamina when being attacked. We also fixed an issue where stamina wasn’t being consumed when attacked while moving with the shield up.



- Fixed an issue where Kick (F) would sometimes not inflict the Knockdown effect on an opponent.



- Natural Marksman (RMB), Twin Fairy Arrow (3): Reduced skills’ stamina consumption by 50%.

The reason Orwen’s arrow shots were originally heavily limited by stamina was because her shots had a Stiffness effect that could restrict an opponent's actions. However, since this ability to restrict an opponent was removed, there was no need to keep such a limit on stamina any longer. As a result, we’ve reduced the stamina consumption of her arrow skills by 50%.



- Fairy Flame (RMB): Fixed an issue where the skill could be used consecutively at a fast rate if used at a different direction from your movement direction
- Fixed an issue where the Stun would sometimes not take effect immediately after Freezing is released.



- Fixed an issue where Venslar could not perform an action for 0.3 seconds when attacked in Patience Stance.
- Changed the amount of stamina consumed when attacked in Patience Stance from 15% to 10%.



- Dragon Slash (3): Fixed an issue where the Ultimate Level of the skill dealt an abnormal amount of damage.
> The damage dealt now will be the same as what is stated in the skill description.


■ Item
- Fixed an issue where the visual effect and the actual radius of the Red Dragon’s attack differed.
- Changed the damage radius of the Red Dragon’s attack as follows.
> Damage Radius: Changed from 25m to 38m
> Increased the damage dealt in the original 25m radius by 14.3%
> The damage dealt in the additional 25m – 38m radius is reduced by 16.7% compared to the original damage.
- Fixed an issue where the Red Dragon sometimes flies past the attack point and disappears.

We discovered that the actual size of the Red Dragon’s attack was significantly smaller than the visual effect. From now on, the Red Dragon’s fire breath will deal damage in a very wide range, just like the visual effect. But you will take less damage if you stay at the edge of the attack.

The 1v1 Challenger Series is making its debut in the Europe/Russia server!
Looking for a suitable opportunity to show off your PVP prowess? Look no further - the EU/Russia 1v1 Challenger Series will pit the best against one another to determine the ultimate 1v1 fighter.

The top 8 players out of the signups and their fight for the winning title will be showcased on an exciting tournament stream, hosted by CM Rinku and NoctWolfTV on August 29, 2020.

[h2]Participant Sign-up Period[/h2]
■ Schedule

*Players selected as participants will be sent a Discord channel URL by in-game mail after the participants announcement.

Please make sure to enter this Discord channel as further event communication and information will be provided through it.  

* If you fail to join the participant Discord channel, you may not receive the information necessary to participate in the event. Please note that you will be responsible for any disadvantages that arise due to this.

* The final bracket announcement will be made on August 29, 08:00 CEST.

[h2]How to Participate & Selection Criteria [/h2]
① Submit the form below to sign up for the 1v1 Challenger Series.

▶ Shadow Arena 1v1 Challenger Series – Europe/Russia Sign Up Form

②The 8 participants chosen to participate in the Challenger Series will be chosen on the basis of the criteria detailed below.

※ Selection Criteria 

1) Selections will be based on your Europe/Russia server Solo matches rank.

* How to check your rank: At the top of the Lobby screen, go to “Battle History” > “Rank” > “Solo” > “World Ranking”
* Your rank at the end of the sign-up period will be the rank considered when determining your eligibility.

2) Out of all sign ups, the 8 players with the highest Solo ranks will be selected to participate as “selected participants” and an additional 3 "reserve participants” will be chosen. 

* Selected participants: are the players who are selected to participate in the 1v1 Challenger Series

> If you are a “selected participant”, you must enter the tournament Discord server by August 26 (Wed), 23:59 CEST and confirm your participation status with Pearl Abyss Staff. If you do not confirm your participation in this manner, then you will be disqualified as a “selected participant” and a reserve participant will take your spot in the tournament.

* Reserve participants: are players who will participate in the tournament in the case of a selected participant dropping out or getting disqualified. 

> If you are selected as a “reserve participant”, you must enter the tournament Discord server by August 26 (Wed), 23:59 CEST and confirm your availability as a reserve participant with Pearl Abyss Staff.

* All selected players, reserve or not, must make sure that they are available for the tournament schedule to avoid any possible inconveniences.

*Reserve participants will be notified of their final participation status ]by August 28, 08:00 CEST and selected reserve participants must respond back their confirmation by August 28, 20:00 CEST.

*Participants will win by default and proceed to the next round should their opponent cancel their participation after August 28, 20:00 CEST.
*All participants will be notified by August 29, 08:00 CEST regarding final bracket changes.

* Please make sure to carefully review the Shadow Arena Competitive Rules & the Supplemental Rule to avoid any possible inconveniences.

 

[h2] Tournament Period [/h2]* All participants must enter the tournament Discord server by August 26 (Wed), 23:59 CEST.
* All participants need to be in the tournament Discord server and logged into the game an hour before the tournament begins (by August 29, 19:00 CEST).
* All matches will be broadcast live via our official channels. As a result, the nicknames and other details of participants may be broadcasted. Pearl Abyss reserves the right to use the video (unedited or edited) of this broadcast for promotional purposes without limitations to time or region.


[h2]Tournament Information [/h2]
① All participants must be logged into the Europe/Russia server and standing by on the “Main Screen” of the Lobby.

* If you enter or are in a different menu (storage etc.) besides the main screen, you may not receive the room invite, so please make sure to wait in the “Main Screen” menu for your invitation.

②Each match will be held as a Custome Match in King of the Hill mode. Participants standing by in the “Main Screen” of the Lobby will be sent invitations to the room when their turn has come.
* If you fail to accept the invite within a set period, you will be considered as forfeiting your participation, and you will not be re-invited. 

]③ When both players have entered the match, the match will begin. The pair will go through a best of 3, and the first player to win 2 matches will qualify to the next round.
* If a player does not show up to their match or does not accept their invitation but the opponent has, the opponent will automatically qualify for the next round.

④The tournament rewards are as follows:

▲ Winner-exclusive Skin: “Blackstar’s Successor”
*The skin reward will be for one of the Heroes you played during the 1v1 Challenger Series.

[Additional Notices

• The event will be with the latest version of the client. Participants must understand and acknowledge before signing up that any updates during the event (such as any Hero-specific balance changes, etc.) may impact the event.  
  
• If a player who is selected to participate fails to attend without a specific reason after being selected, the player may be less likely to be selected to participate in future events as per the Shadow Arena Competitive Rules. If you cannot attend due to unavoidable/unforeseen circumstances, please let us know via Support or Discord.
  
• The Group of 8, semi-finals, and finals of the 1v1 Challenger Series will all take place on August 29, 2020 (Sat) and is expected to take approximately 2 hours. We recommend having extra time to continue playing on that day should the tournament take longer than expected.
  
• Pearl Abyss may collect (with your agreement) your personal information to deliver any prizes. If you do not submit your personal information within the collection period, we will deem your non-compliance as your intention to forfeit any prizes. 
  
• All rewards will be sent to your account in the Europe/Russia server during the next maintenance after the tournament ends.
  
• All matches will be broadcast live via our official channels. As a result, the nicknames and other details of participants may be broadcasted. Pearl Abyss reserves the right to use the video (unedited or edited) of this broadcast for promotional purposes without limitations to time or region.   
  
• Pearl Abyss reserves the right to change/cancel the event depending on mitigating circumstances. If changes are made, they will be announced on this event page.

- One of the two Marine Romance skins will be randomly given. If you already have the skin after the winners announcement, please contact us via [Support] before September 2, 2020 (Wed) 23:59.
- You will not receive multiple rewards if you participate in the event on 2 or more servers.
- The event rewards will be sent to the in-game mailbox after the maintenance on September 3, 2020 (Thu).
- You must successfully finish one match (that fulfills the event requirements) to be acknowledged as participating in the event. If you leave the match while it is in-progress, you will be deemed as failing to fulfill the event requirements.
- Pearl Abyss reserves the right to change/cancel the event depending on mitigating circumstances. If changes are made, they can be found on this event page.
- Participating in the event with inappropriate methods may result in cancellation of event participation, withdrawal of item rewards, and account restrictions from the game.
