In Season 27, we introduced "Seasonal Mutations"—significant changes to Despot’s Game that alter the game's perception for one season. Seasons last, on average, 3-4 weeks, and when the season ends, these changes are reverted.

The "Season of Concentrations" has ended! Now altars and the mutations associated with them work as they did before – there will be more altars, fewer rerolls, and both the Curse of Mutation and More Altars are back.

[h3]Welcome to Season 32—"Season of Summoners".[/h3]

In this season, we are buffing the creatures that can be summoned through buttons or mutations (in simpler terms, Purr-Meow and other creatures you can find on the map will become stronger; Tentacles and Towers remain unchanged).

[h3]• New Features •[/h3]
The main additions in this season are the "Token of Knowledge" and the ability to sell buttons.
  • "Knowledge Token": a new item that can be purchased after defeating the Despot, right before your team heads to King of the Hill. The token allows you to buy experience for the whole team with tokens – now you can level up your low-level humans! Just make sure you have enough money.
  • Buttons can now be sold. Works the same way as selling items – just drag the unwanted button into the bin in the lower left part of the screen – and you'll receive a small amount of tokens for it.

[h3]• Quest Balance •[/h3]
  • Rewards in tokens for the Tricksters, Cultists, and Shooters' quests have been increased and are now 50 tokens.

[h3]• Mutation and Ability Balance •[/h3]
  • Mass Taunt — cooldown multiplier increased from 5 ➔ 8
  • Delayed Pain — duration reduced from 3 sec ➔ 2 sec
  • Rat-ify — duration reduced from 8 sec ➔ 4 sec
  • Blinding Lightning — blindness duration reduced from 4 sec ➔ 3 sec
  • Death Deferred (T5 Healers ability) — duration reduced from 6 sec ➔ 3 sec

[h3]• Mode Balance •[/h3]
  • In the Sprint mode, on average, the player will receive slightly more tokens on almost all floors.

[h3]• Mutation Tree Balance •[/h3]
  • The Weighted Dice is cheaper at the first level, more expensive at the second, and its effectiveness at the first level has been reduced:
    1. Level 1 25% ➔ 10%; cost 25 ➔ 10
    2. Level 2 cost 60 ➔ 75
  • Topochlorians balance has been changed:
    1. Level 1 40 ➔ 15; cost 15 ➔ 5
    2. Level 2 80 ➔ 30; cost 25 ➔ 15
    3. Level 3 140 ➔ 50; cost 35 ➔ 20
    4. Level 4 cost 45 ➔ 70
    5. Level 5 cost 70 ➔ 80

In Season 27, we introduced "Seasonal Mutations"—significant changes to Despot’s Game that alter the game's perception for one season. Seasons last, on average, 3-4 weeks, and when the season ends, these changes are reverted.

The "Season of Metamorphoses" has ended! Players received the previous seasonal changes warmly, so most will remain in the game. However, the mutation tree will undergo changes again this season—more on that below.

[h3]Welcome to Season 31—"Season of Concentration".[/h3]

This season's main changes affect the mutation altar. There will now be fewer altars on the levels, but players will have more rerolls available (5 by default instead of 3). Additionally, for the duration of the season, we've removed More Altars from the mutation tree and the Curse of Mutation.

Here's how this affects gameplay: Now, during a single run in Despot’s Game, players will generally receive fewer mutations, but the selection of mutations will be much broader due to the increased number of rerolls.

  • On average, players will now earn fewer tokens across all modes.
  • Enemy diversity has increased — players will encounter more varied groups on all dungeon floors.
Brawl Balance
  • The Health Bonus in the mutation tree has been increased at all levels:
  • Level 1: 50 ➔ 80
  • Level 2: 80 ➔ 100
  • Level 3: 170 ➔ 200

[h3]• Mutation Tree Balance •[/h3]
  • Health Bonus and Tolerance have swapped places — Tolerance is now available earlier, while Health Bonus is obtainable later.
  • The activation chance bonus from Weighted Dice has been increased at the first and second levels:
    1. Level 1: 20% ➔ 25%
    2. Level 2: 40% ➔ 45%
  • The cost of Tolerance has been reduced at all levels:
    1. Level 1: 30 ➔ 25
    2. Level 2: 70 ➔ 60
    3. Level 3: 110 ➔ 100
[h3]• Classes Balance •[/h3]
  • Stonewall in the tank quest has been replaced with Effective Taunt.
  • Tricksters Items:
    1. Tier 5: Damage 230 ➔ 210; Health 520 ➔ 500
  • Eggheads Balance:
    1. The health of towers at all levels has been reduced:
    2. Level 1: 500 ➔ 300
    3. Level 2: 750 ➔ 500
    4. Level 3: 1250 ➔ 900
  • Fighters Items:
    1. Tier 1: Damage 30 ➔ 50
    2. Tier 2: Damage 60 ➔ 80

In Season 27, we introduced "Seasonal Mutations"—significant changes to Despot’s Game that alter the game's perception for one season. Seasons last, on average, 3-4 weeks, and when the season ends, these changes are reverted.

"Season of the Meganewbie" has ended! Meganewbie has forgotten his new abilities, and has become slightly weaker — its behavior and characteristics have reverted to the stats from Season 28.

[h3]Welcome to Season 30—"Season of Metamorphoses".[/h3]

In this season, we are making significant changes to the mutation tree! The usual build order has changed, and the values of some important mutations have been altered. For example, More Altars and Attack Bonus can now be obtained earlier. On the other hand, you'll now need to level up a bit more to acquire Tolerance.

In Sprint mode, you now earn slightly more tokens on average.

  • Cooldown multiplier for Mass Taunt increased from 3 ➔ 4
  • Radius of Sword Dance reduced from 30 ➔ 20
  • Powerful Pill/Tranquilizer is weakened: Duration 10 sec ➔ 7 sec, Damage bonus 40 ➔ 30
  • Thunder Lance: Percentage damage from Mage Lightning reduced from 40% ➔ 30% (50% ➔ 40% in the Arcade)

[h3]• Cursed Mutations Balance •[/h3]
  • Curse of Puniness strengthened: Damage bonus 300 ➔ 400
  • Damage bonus limit from Curse of Gluttony increased from 100 ➔ 150
  • Debuff from Cursed Armor is weakened: Damage taken when moving 10% ➔ 5% (15% ➔ 10% in Director's mode)
  • Debuff from Curse of Might is weakened: Chance to attack yourself 10% ➔ 7% (20% ➔ 15% in Director's mode)

In Season 27, we introduced "Seasonal Mutations"—significant changes to Despot’s Game that alter the game's perception for one season. Seasons last, on average, 3-4 weeks, and when the season ends, these changes are reverted.

"Season of Newbies" has ended! Now Newbies cost as usual again; their price no longer increases in modes with food.



[h3]Welcome to Season 29—"Season of the Meganewbie".[/h3]

The Meganewbie is now stronger! Its health and damage have increased, and it has acquired a number of useful abilities:
  • Newbie Summoning: Every 10 seconds, the Meganewbie summons smaller newbies!
  • Shockwave: Every 6 seconds, the Meganewbie strikes the ground, creating a powerful shockwave;
  • Domineering Gaze: There is a 30% chance that the enemy may be stunned when attacked by the Meganewbie.

[h3]• Game Mode Balances •[/h3]
  • The "Normal" mode has been made more challenging: more enemies will now appear in rooms on all floors, and the economy of the mode has become slightly less generous. This change is mainly aimed at new players – last year, we significantly simplified "Normal" when we released the "Director's Cut" version. We started receiving more complaints that the game was too easy. The challenge is back!
  • In "Slaughterhouse," the healing volume of the Healers class ability has been reduced at all levels:
    1. Level 1: 40 ➔ 30;
    2. Level 2: 60 ➔ 50;
    3. Level 3: 90 ➔ 70;
    4. Level 4: 130 ➔ 90;
    5. Level 5: 190 ➔ 120.
  • The influx of tokens in "Hunger Games" has been increased again!

[h3]• Class Balance •[/h3]
  • The damage of shooter items has been reduced:
    1. Tier 1: 30 ➔ 25;
    2. Tier 2: 50 ➔ 40;
    3. Tier 3: 70 ➔ 55;
    4. Tier 4: 105 ➔ 85;
    5. Tier 5: 120 ➔ 105.
  • Damage reduction from ricochets of "Rubber Bullets" increased: 0.5 ➔ 0.4;
  • The number of shots in "Volley" (the Punisher item ability) reduced: 12 ➔ 10.

The bonus from "Tolerance" in the mutation tree has been reduced at all levels:

In the previous 27th season, we introduced "Seasonal Mutations" – significant changes to Despot’s Game that alter the game's perception for one season. Seasons last on average 3-4 weeks, and when the season ends, these changes are reverted.

"Season of Titans" has ended! All item prices and the Healers' healing bonus return to their original values.

[h3]Welcome to Season 28: "Newbie Season".[/h3]

Now in modes with food, the price of newbies will increase just like in no-food modes—each subsequent newbie will cost 1 token more; price cap – 11. In no-food modes, the price cap price is increased and is 20.

We have taken your feedback from the previous season into account: seasonal mutations do not apply to "Normal" and "Eazy" modes.

Prices and values of Energy Vampirism have been changed:
  • Level 1: price 80, value 20 ➔ price 40, value 10
  • Level 2: price 200, value 40 ➔ price 80, value 30

  • The mana cost of Human Projectile has increased: 40 ➔ 50; the radius has been slightly reduced 35 ➔ 30;
  • The damage of Throwers has been reduced:
    1. Tier 1; damage 70 ➔ 60;
    2. Tier 2; damage 140 ➔ 120;
    3. Tier 3; damage 160 ➔ 140;
    4. Tier 4; damage 220 ➔ 200.
  • The class ability of Healers has been buffed:
    1. Level 1: 40
