Despot's Game: Dystopian Battle Simulator News

This is a comparatively small patch. The most important new things are that we reworked Bloodletting for Healers (this is a mutation that turns healing into an attack). Mutations that affect Healers' healing now do damage when combined with Bloodletting. We also increased the EXP received in Sprint, reworked Normal and Hard modes, and made balance changes, of course (something got nerfed)!

We have also added a display of your current team's results in the King of the Hill mode. It shows the following stats:

1. The change in your team's position since entering the ranking;
   
2. The total number of battles your team has defended (when the team is "blue");
   
3. The number of victories in defense;
   
4. The number of defeats in defense.
   

Sometimes, the number of defeats may not match the number of positions you have "lost" on the leaderboard. This happens because players who are ranked higher than you can defeat your team any number of times without causing you to lose your present ranking—because the player who defeated you was initially ranked higher than you. Your position changes only when a player ranked lower than you defeats your team.

• Changed the order mutations are given in Hard Mode;
  
• Nerfed Catbots a little (let's just say floors 2-3 are now, ahem... beatable);
  
• Changed the pool of enemies you can encounter in Normal mode;
  
• Added a base mutation for Sprint that increases EXP received by 30%.

• When combined with mutations that affect Healers' healing, Bloodletting now transforms those mutations into maiming mutations. For example, Sweet Pill to Swallow becomes Sleeping Pill to Swallow, and instead of increasing ally attack speed, it reduces enemy attack speed;
  
• Nerfed Curse of Gluttony, food requirements increased: 100% ➔ 130%;
  
• Last Chance dodge chance reduced: 35% ➔ 25%;
  
• Health restored by Thrill of Battle reduced: 20 ➔ 15;
  
• Feint damage reduced: 250 ➔ 200;
  
• Attack bonus from Powerful Pill reduced: 50 ➔ 40;
  
• Attack speed bonus from Sweet Pill to Swallow reduced: 80 ➔ 50;
  
• Attack speed buff from Effective Aura reduced: 15 ➔ 10;
  
• Dodge chance multiplier for Most Dexterous reduced: 5 ➔ 3;
  
• Damage bonus from Impostor reduced: 100% ➔ 75%;
  
• Magic Mirror proc chance reduced: 15 ➔ 10.

In this update, we reevaluated the No Food Sprint mode economy and room generation rules (your humans will get more tokens and XP now!), nerfed a few defensive mutations, and made minor balance adjustments to open up more diverse PvP builds.

We also widened the pool of mutations available at altars on level 1: now you'll be offered mutations that were previously available starting on level 2. We chose to limit this a while ago to avoid forcing experienced players to restart the game repeatedly, but now we have other mechanisms to promote playing without restarting, so we changed this.


[h2]• Changes to the Sprint Mode (Without Food) •[/h2]

• Maximum puny human cost reduced: 15 ➔ 10;
  
• Number of rooms on the last floor increased: 8 ➔ 10;
  
• Amount of tokens received for completing a room on the first floor increased.
  

[h2]• Mutation Balance Changes •[/h2]

• Rubber Bullets ricochet damage reduced: 0.5 ➔ 0.3 (mutation nerfed);
  
• Cursed Armor damage reduced: 110 ➔ 70;
  
• Curse of Variety bonus health reduced: 3% ➔ 1%;
  
• Percent of damage returned by Thorn Armor reduced: 60% ➔ 40%;
  
• Stunning Beauty proc chance reduced: 20% ➔ 10%;
  
• Magic Mirror duration and proc chance reduced: 3s ➔ 2s; 30% ➔ 15%;
  
• Compensation bonus armor reduced: 50 ➔ 20;
  
• Chance to find food and items from Newbie's Luck reduced; food: 10% ➔ 2%; items: 3% ➔ 1%;
  
• Medical Vampirism buffed: 15% ➔ 20%;
  
• Tolerance has been buffed at all levels in the mutation tree: [20%, 30%, 40%] ➔ [30%, 40%, 50%];
  
• Fhtagn bonus in the mutation tree has been reduced at all levels: [30, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500] ➔ [20, 70, 150, 200, 300, 400];
  
• [Brawl only] Mglw'nafh bonus in the mutation tree has been reduced: 100% ➔ 50%;
  
• [Brawl only] Effective Taunt duration reduced: 2s ➔ 1s.

• The Archived Newbies button in the Sprint mode with food can now be pressed twice;
  
• The mutation pool available at altars on level 1 has been expanded: it now includes mutations from level 2.

Highlights of this update: changes to the room generation rules, changes to the secret mutations (psst, d'Spot doesn't like us talking about his secret room), and balance tweaks.

[h2]• Level Balance Changes •[/h2]

• In all game modes except Brawl and Sprint, we increased the spread between the minimum and maximum possible numbers of rooms on a floor;
  
• In the Brawl mode, there are now 3 rooms instead of 4 (on all floors except the first floor). We increased the standard number of rolls at altars and buffed the bonus from Wide Selection in the Mutation Tree: [1, 2, 3, 4] ➔ [2, 4, 5, 6];
  
• In the Sprint mode, you now get slightly fewer tokens, but there are more altars (this affects both modes with and without food);
  
• Octoboss has gotten a sli-i-i-ight nerf.
  

[h2]• Mutation and Ability Balance Changes •[/h2]

• The bonus from Wide Selection has been changed at all levels: [1, 2, 3, 4] ➔ [2, 3, 4, 6] (affects all game modes except Brawl);
  
• Magic Mirror's stun duration has been decreased: 4s ➔ 3s;
  
• The bonus from Speed Magic has been decreased: 15% ➔ 10%;
  
• Human Projectile's cooldown has been reduced: 27s ➔ 23s;
  
• Eggheads' level 5 ability cooldown has been increased: 9s ➔ 14s;
  
• Several cursed mutations have been buffed ("Details are classified!," says d'Spot);
  
• Tanks' level 4 ability debuff duration has been decreased: 7 s. ➔ 6 s; debuff effectiveness has been decreased: 50% ➔ 35%.
