We added an offline mode for the replay battle feature, meaning that if you use the replay battle feature without an internet connection, you will still be able to use it but without the online leaderboard.

  • Fixed Tunnel battle bug where you die but goes to castle

  • Fixed When you go to "Replay Battles" and for unknown reasons press esc twice, the screen freezes like this but apparently the game is still functionable and you just can't see what you're selecting and pressing on
  • Fixed Jump rope battle impossible to finish if you don't kill them in replay battle
  • Basque fully translated again

== Important notice ==
We mainly fixed some minor issues encountered by players using the new replay feature and some weird dialogues blocking game progress for the 1%.

Other things patched:
  • FIXED After pressing difficulty press escape and you can reproduce this error
  • FIXED If you let Rob's song finishes the game softlocks
  • FIXED When going back to menu via pause or another that is not via replay battle, the static bool is still ON causing weird issue when going in story
  • FIXED [NEED TESTING] Extremely minor visual bug: Because I have score #8 on the vanilla board and score #3 on the killmode board, it lights up both slots on the killmode board even though it shouldn't. However, this fixes itself the moment I switch between boards, and it returns if I leave and come back.
  • FIXED mismatching IDs
  • Replay Battles names adjusted
  • Green Mage freeze bug potentially fixed for some users

Replay Battles feature + Localization Update

Replay Battle feature


We are thrilled to announce the highly requested replay battles feature!



After the player finishes the game(genocide ending) they can access replay battles in the main menu which is accompanied with a unique score system and online leaderboards!

Players will have access to all battles except some special encounters such as incinerators and quantum battles (which is not really a battle!) but we are happy to announce that the medallion sword battles and the tennis battles are included!

We have two rating systems the star system and the online leaderboard score system.

[h2]The star system[/h2]
This is based on how much damage the player received.
  • 1 star = 10+ damage
  • 2 stars = 5+ damage
  • 3 stars = 3+ damage
  • 4 stars = 1+ damage
  • 5 stars = no damage

[h2]The online leaderboard score system
[/h2]Earn points while playing a battle.
Points:
  • Sidestep or jump rolling to avoid a projectile: 75 points.
  • Jump over a projectile: 50 points.
  • Taking damage = -500 points.
During killmode
  • Absorb small energy = 50 points.
  • Absorb tall energy = 100 points.
  • Damaging enemy = 500 points.
  • Destroy a small energy = 50 points.
  • Destroy a tall energy = 100 points.


After battle
Upon victory, the player receives a time bonus that is calculated depending on duration of the song and then adds all points gathered during the battle and finally multiplies with the chosen difficulty:
  • Story mode = x1
  • Easy = x5
  • Normal = x10
  • Hard = x25
  • Expert = x50
  • Insane = x100


Other worthy notes:

The leaderboard will reset every month.
No-hit achivements can be obtained in Replay Battles feature.
As of now, this update is only for PC but in the future, we hope to get it into the Nintendo switch!
The score system is not available in the normal playthrough only accessible in the replay battle.

Localization efforts


Early in development people in our discord channel recommended that we should open up for the game to be translated.

We are happy to say that we now support:
Italian, German, Russian, Spanish, Euskara, French, Japanese, Chinese, Traditional Chinese, and of course English.

Update notes for v1.0.41 ml

== Important notice ==
Some topdown songs were still present even after unloading the scene due to some statics references hanging here and there, this has been fixed thus improving a bit some scenes loading time speed.

Other things patched:
  • Even more proofreading (very minor stuff)
  • Battle grid slightly adjusted so it looks like projectiles are in center of each grid
  • Jump rope challenge text does not insta disappear on 2nd interaction
  • Player death effect in boardgame are being affected by options sound settings
  • Fixed sound effects that were not affected by options in cursed castle and professor orange's lab
  • Added colorblind projectile markers that disappeared after a while
  • Gold Pig and Knightlostalot hints available by cursed castle (english only)
  • Evil wizard duplicate projectiles in chart
  • Atm had a hidden 3rd menu option removed
  • Added more collision to avoid sorting errors in green mage's room
  • Save cow's save option does not have "click-to-continue-animation"
