Utopia Colony has got an update!

You can now add a basement to the main base. The basement holds a moderately powerful fusion reactor capable of powering the station and more. A fusion reactor is a new piece of technology in 2033. A set of closely regulated high energy antimatter particle beams are used to generate the conditions that are used to enable fusion reactions.



The terrain has also been improved with more landscaping rocks. These rocks are aesthetics to make the landscape look more realistic. These rocks cannot be mined. You will find these rocks spread out in the terrain and they make nice places for a little sightseeing.



We have also made a few more improvements to the game:

• The settings now has invert Y for user input.
  
• The running speed has been slightly reduced in the main base.
  
• The jumping factor has been reduced in the main base to avoid hitting the ceiling when jumping.

Utopia Colony has got an update!

Utopia Colony has reached a milestone! The game has now been accepted by Steam as a game that has a broad reach. We have therefore been invited to make trading cards, badges and points shop items. We are happy to report that Utopia Colony is now giving out trading cards as you play the game. We set the give out rate to one card per 20 minutes (but it is Steam that actually controls all the details).



You have to collect 10 trading cards to be able to craft a badge. Steam will give you half of the cards from playing the game. The other half, you have to trade to get. Alternatively, you can sell your cards (for real money) in the Steam marketplace.

If you have already played the game for more than 20 minutes, then you should have received cards from Steam now. Please check your profile inventory.

Keep playing and earn trading cards. We hope to see you on Mars!

Utopia Colony has got an update!

Need to haul big loads? No problem. There is now a Carryall Rover available for purchase, if you've got the credits... Hauling mining rigs, research equipment, etc., is no longer any problem. No need to ask for help from the colonies, you can now do it all yourself. The Carryall Rover, a 3 ton, flat bed, six wheeler is what you need, in addition to the smaller but faster Explorer Rover. You've got to check this one out.



Running out of rocks to mine? We have added deployable Rock Extractors. There is an area, not far from the base, that is suitable for rock extraction mining. Deploy Rock Extractors and get a steady supply of rock ore that can be mined. We think Rock Extractors is a valuable addition to the gameplay experience.

We have got requests for more dust. Well we decided to really turn it up. Look around and you'll see tiny particles of dust whirling about everywhere, making for a more realistic Mars atmosphere..

Xbox Controller support has now been added. Just plug-in your Xbox Controller and start playing. The whole game can be operated using a Xbox Controller: the main game, menus, in-game menus, etc. You do not need to use keyboard or mouse, only the controller.

There are also various minor improvements, enhancements and bug fixes. We hope to see you on Mars!

Utopia Colony is an Early Access game where we are working on making a simulation game of what it will be like to be a miner on Mars in the near future.

Utopia Colony has got an update!

No more permanent game overs. It is now possible to load and save your progress in the game. Earn a lot of credits and save your game. No need to worry about loosing your credits any more. We have now also added key bindings. Just go to the options menu and choose the key bindings you would like to use. The in-game pause menu have also got more options: music volume, voice volume and a save button. There's more resources in Rua 51. Look around, and you will find resource here and there. We hope to see you on Mars!
