Freya Skyhelm faces a fearsome Nighthaunt Horde along with Castigators and a Knight Incantor. We will be forced to use the terrain and all our abilities to destroy this deadly enemy.

In today’s video, join Jeff Lydell (Game Director) and Ian Christy (Design Director) from the Dev Team at Gasket Games as they take a deeper look into the many strategic options of the Stormcast Eternals army during a mid-to-late critical battle of the campaign against the haunting Nighthaunt army. Every unit at your command can be used in a variety of ways in Storm Ground’s battles and can be customized to fit your favorite playstyle. Before each battle, choose between unique weapons, armor, spells and passive abilities to equip your units with and create your own synergies, thanks to over 500 items available for you to collect.

The Eternals, Storm Ground’s sturdiest warriors, are worthy of their name. Banding together in tight formations around their hero allows them to withstand tons of damage and shine in long battles.

Nighthaunts on the other hand are much more fragile, relying on debuffs to weaken their enemies and on summoning units to overwhelm them.

Last but not least, the Maggotkin compensate their generally sluggish movement with an unrivaled ability to control the battlefield, turning hex tiles into dangerous hazard zones that inflict debilitating effects on the toughest of enemies with ease.

Get your first glimpse of Warhammer game Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground in action

Focus Home Interactive has shared a new video showcasing core gameplay in the publisher's upcoming Warhammer game, Age of Sigmar: Storm Ground. Storm Ground marks the first serious attempt to adapt Games Workshop's Age of Sigmar tabletop line into a videogame format, with previous attempts mainly involving free-to-play or mobile-style games.

Storm Ground is a turn-based strategy game where you can take charge of a highly customisable army from one of three factions; the not-Space Marine Stormcast Eternals, the Nighthaunt, and the Nurgle-tastic Maggotkin. Each faction has their own playstyle, for example the Stormcast are incredibly tanky, while the Nighthaunt prefer good old-fashioned swarm tactics. You can choose from several hero units within a faction to lead your force, with a diverse roster of additional unit types inspired by the tabletop game to back up your leader.

There will be a campaign mode where you can collect additional heroes, units, wargear, skills, and weapons via a card-based collection mechanic. Campaigns are non-linear and procedurally generated, and you can take your force online in multiplayer skirmishes as well. Emphasis has also been put on the game's environments, with certain tiles being key to victory.

New units will allow you to build your army your way, choosing who to field with every new battle and customizing every facet of their equipment to match your playstyle.

[h3]A non-linear, replayable solo-campaign and epic multiplayer battles.[/h3]

Each non-linear, procedurally-generated campaign will be a new experience whenever you begin it, meaning an endlessly replayable single-player offering. Multiplayer has you gaining a collection over time as you win more and more battles against other players online, changing your army as you earn more rewards.

Those battles are intense, tactical fights across a wide variety of battlefields in the realms of Life, Death, and Metal. Every hex has tactical relevance, from valuable high ground to aethyr pools brimming with energy and ancient chests filled with secrets and rewards. Use the strengths of your army to gain the upper hand, fighting on advantageous terrain and in situations where you can grasp victory.
