Snowball Fight

Winter has come to Halo Infinite, and with it, a flurry of excitement with the introduction of a veritable Snowball Fight.

That’s right. It’s time to be merry! ❄️

Unleashing the Snowballs
Forget about the conventional arsenal of weapons; in Snowball Fight, the battlefield is ruled by the infinite supply of plasma grenades. Dip, dodge, and duck other team’s plasmas while launching your own. This is a team-based race to 50 so be sure to watch your teammate’s back too! As a bonus, you’ll be doing all this in Third-Person so you get the additional thrill of watching “snowballs” whiz by you as you enter the fray.

It wouldn’t be a snowball fight without snow and we’ve got three winter wonderlands for you to romp around on.

Forge Features

It’s the final countdown to 2025!

We’ve got one more fantastic Forge Feature for 2024 and if you stick around to the end, you’ll see a list of things that the team here is looking for to beef up some future playlists. No time to waste, let’s jump in and see how we’re rounding out the year!

You and up to 23 of your fellow Spartans (but preferably 2-8) can jump into this PvE mode and bust some bunkers as you try to prevent the Banished from taking hold of the UNSC tech at the end.
Forward Unto 2025
We’re always on the lookout for new and exciting Forge content created by the community and as we head into 2025, next year is no different. While we’re always keeping our eyes peeled for new Husky Raid, Arena & BTB maps, here is a list of other interesting directions that we’d be excited to hear about. If you know of one (or have built one!), feel free to use the corresponding “343asks” tags in-game to get them on our radar!

Specifically:
 • Invasion maps
 • Academy-themed Linear PvE
 • Halo 4 maps & content
 • Linear PvE experiences
 • Linear Spooky experiences
 • Halo 5 themed PvP & PvE experiences

That’s a wrap!

2024 has been a very full year of Forge and we can’t wait to see what 2025 brings. HUGE thanks to all the creators who have made such incredible content, we will see you next year!

1v1 Showdown

Guess what’s back. Back again—tell a friend. Today, the 1v1 Showdown makes its official debut in matchmaking!

1v1 Me Bro. For Real This Time.
One of the most common pieces of feedback we heard during the Combat Workshop outing was that you would love to take a friend with you for the ultimate showdown. We heard you loud and clear and the playlist has been updated to allow parties of two to search.

Thanks to Forger Artifice, you can now literally challenge someone to a 1v1 and duke it out on the battlefield for the ultimate bragging rights.

Rules of Engagement
Before you jump in, you should know what you’re getting into and how to win. The victor is the first to win the best of 5 rounds. If you’re asking “How do I win a round?” we have you covered. You can win in one of two ways:
 • Be the first to 5 kills
 • Capture the zone

Each round is a race to 5 with spawns resetting immediately after a kill happens to ensure everyone is on an even playing field. However, if at any point during the round someone captures a hill, they win the round. Yes, this means you can be down 4-1, capture the zone, and still win the round.

Both players will be equipped identically with random loadouts that vary from round to round. You never know what you’ll have in your pockets so be nimble and ready to flex your strategy to adapt to the gear you might find.

Just to keep you on your toes, you may be granted a round modifier (you’ll see the UI banner pop up) that adds a new twist to the game. Keep your reflexes sharp and be ready to adjust to whatever the game throws you, including a damage boost, low gravity, or amped up speed. You never know whatcha gonna get.

Lay of the Land
So, you’ve thrown the gauntlet and are ready to face off in the 1v1, meaning you’ve got the who and the what. Now all you need is where. We have found that standard Arena maps are slightly too large for 1v1, so with the help of community Forger UneeQ, we’ve taken slices of some of your favorite maps and created a unique set of battlefields.

Between rounds, loadouts aren’t the only thing that changes—you’ll be teleported to a new map slice so the scenery will also stay fresh. Here are the maps that have had slices pulled from them:
Aquarius

Argyle

Bazaar

Catalyst

Empyrean

Fortress*

Origin*
*Fortress and Origin slices are making their debut with the full release of the playlist, with Origin joining the full map pool at a later date.

If you can talk the talk, you better be able to walk the walk so challenge your friend and put your skills to the test!

Operation: Snowbound

Spartans in the snow
In a Warthog turret bay
O’er the cliff we go
Slaying all the way!

Operation: Snowbound has arrived in Halo Infinite, spanning December 3, 2024, through January 7, 2025. Let’s take a closer look at all the festive fun on offer for the Haloday season!

1v1 Showdown
[previewyoutube][/previewyoutube]

Whether you’re looking to settle amicable disagreements in a civil fashion, or seeking to put your skills to the test, you’ll want to step into the 1v1 Showdown playlist!

Go head-to-head with other Spartans on small slices of some familiar maps, with identical randomized weapon and equipment loadouts, leaving the outcome to pure skill.

Of course, this time of year is all about having fun and enjoying yourselves, so if you want to enter the 1v1 arena with a friend, you can absolutely party up with them and duke it out against each other in matchmaking.

For a full briefing on this experience, head over to the 1v1 Showdown playlist blog.
Return to Old Haunts
The year is 2007. You’re back home from school or work, the days are growing shorter and the nights are getting colder, but there is comfort and good cheer to be found in the digital realm of Halo 3 matchmaking. The lobby decided to veto CTF on Isolation—very well, Oddball on Snowbound will do nicely!

Remade in Halo Infinite’s Forge, relive those old memories on Snowbound this Holiday. Two Covenant bases, winding caverns connecting them below ground, sentry turrets guarding the perimeter (keeping us in, or enemies out?), and a vast expanse of snow as far as the eye can see…

Also remade with Halo Infinite’s Forge, return to High Ground during a very different time of year! The sand and mud of this beach-bound outpost has been covered in snow, but you’ll quickly feel right at home.

Originally released as a map variant of Live Fire during the Winter Contingency III event last year, Snow Fire returns to matchmaking for another outing (and you can find it in your map selection for Custom Games already).
Snowball Fight
Not even Spartans are immune to the festive fun found in a good snowball fight!

Coming later in the Operation, the Snowball Fight mode will be playable across Snowbound, Snow Ground, and Snow Fire.

This mode trades out your weapons for an infinite number of plasma grenades. How’s your throwing arm? By the end of the Holidays, nobody’ll be better at getting grenade sticks than you!
