Patch Notes - September 8th (PDT)

A server patch was performed at around September 8th, 6PM (PDT) / September 9th, 3AM (CEST) as a response to issues found in the current game version.

- Zealot's Fire
: “Zealot's Fire” can be disabled if using the skill while it’s activated.

[h3]■ Blessings[/h3]
1) Mark of the Wolf - Fang of the Wolf
: Increased the max. stack limit of “Bleeding” from 3 times to 8 times.
: Decreased the damage per stack by 25%.

- Razor Claw
: Increased the chance to inflict “Bleeding” while “Zealot's Fire” is active from 15~56% to 35~85%.
: Removed the effect where “Chains of War” causes “Bleeding” by a certain rate. Instead, if inflicting a damage with “Zealot's Fire” to a target with a certain amount of stacks of “Bleeding”, a new bleeding effect “Excess Bleeding” will be applied. The required amount of stacks is decreased according to the growth of “Razor Claw”.

2) The Lionheart - Roar of the Lion
: Increased the damage of Shout skill from 100~250% of Attack Power to 160~320% of Attack Power.
- Shout
: Increased the damage bonus of Roar, Great Sweeping Slash, Spinning Slash from 20~75% to 20~120%.

- Overwhelming Defense
: The effect can also be triggered when Counterattack skill is used as well as when Shield Block is used.

- Fixed a bug where the class skill “Righteous Vigor” effect is not activated even on Critical Hit.


[h3][Berserker][/h3]
[h3]■ Blessings[/h3]

1) Gift of Valor
- Blade Wind

: Successful hit with Whirlwind skill applies the “Blade Wind” effect to yourself by the same rate as “Bleeding”. “Blade Wind” effect lasts for 20 seconds and can be stacked up to 10 times. Each stack increases the damage of “Whirlwind” by 6.5%.

- Rushing Storm
: Upgraded the mx. stack limit of “Rushing Storm” from 10 times to 1~10 times.
: Added an effect where successful hit with combos reduces the cooldown of “Whirlwind” by a certain rate.

- Eye of the Storm
: Added an effect where the cooldown of “Whirlwind” is reset and “Blade Wind” and “Rushing Storm” are applied when using “Rage”.


[h3][Ranger][/h3]
[h3]■ Blessings[/h3]

1) Gift of Valor - Ramming Arrow
: Changed so that the arrow cost is decreased for Rush-type and Double Shot-type skills not only for “Tempest Shot”.

- Sharpshooter
: Changed so that the Flashing effect can be refreshed even when the effect is stacked to the max. limit.
: Increased the duration of Flashing effect from 10~50 seconds to 20~90 seconds.

- Neural Stimulation
: Changed the effect where Tempest Shot is additionally charged 1 time, so that it’s additionally charged up to 2 times.
: Improved the issue where combos are not triggered when used consecutively. However, this is only applied to the attacks of 0.3 seconds or above, and the improvement for the attacks of below 0.3 seconds will be applied through the future update.

2) The Lionheart - Threat of the Beast
: Increased the max. stack limit of “Scarred” from 3 times to 5 times.
: Decreased the effect of “Scarred” per stack by 20%.
: Increased the duration of “Scarred” from 5~25 seconds to 7~25 seconds.
: Fixed a bug where “Scarred” was applied to a single target even used to multiple targets at once.

- Encouragement
: Changed so that the Attack Power Reduction effect is activated when “Scarred” is stacked to the max. limit.
: Added an effect where the cooldown of “Bottomless Quiver” is reduced by a certain rate when attacking a target with max. stacks of “Scarred”.

- Sharp Claws
: Increased the chance to additionally cause “Scarred” from 10% to 10~30%.

[h3]■ Fixed Bug[/h3]
-Fixed the description of “Neural Stimulation” of Ranger’s “Gift of Valor” Blessing that states the cooldown of Tempest Shot is reduced by 1 second. Edited from 1 second to 2 seconds, and the cooldown is reduced by 2 seconds as before.

[h3]■ Blessings[/h3]

1) The Lionheart
- Chain Explosion

: Increased the default duration of “Chain Explosion” from 10 seconds to 20 seconds.
: Added an effect that increases the damage of “Meteor”.

- Madness of Fire
: Increased the default duration of “Madness of Fire” from 10 seconds to 20 seconds.
: Increased the number of meteors dropped by using “Flame Wave” while “Madness of Fire” is active from 1 to 1~3. 1 meteor at stage 1 of Flame Wave, 2 meteors at stage 2, 3 meteors at stage 3 are dropped.
: Additional 3 meteors are dropped if using “Meteor” while “Madness of Fire” is active.

- Boost Firepower
: Changed the effect of Mana cost reduction from reduction by 100% at Lv.10 to reduction by 100% at Lv.5.
: Add an effect that increases the damage of Flame combos by 50~150%.

- Heart of Fire
: Changed the effect of Mana cost reduction of Flame combos and skills from reduction by 10~40% to reduction by 20~60%.

2) The Crescent Moon - Chosen by Arcane
: Increased the duration of “Chosen by Arcane” from 7~20 seconds 12~30 seconds.

- Chosen by Flame
: Increased the duration of “Chosen by Flame” from 7~20 seconds 12~30 seconds.

- Elemental Detection
: Increased the duration of “Flame Detection” and “Arcane Detection” from 10 seconds 20 seconds.

[h3]■ Fixed Bug[/h3]
: Fixed a bug where Mage can go through the wall using the “Blinkstrike” skill in some Dungeons.


[h3][Priest][/h3]
[h3]■ Blessings[/h3]

1) The Lionheart
- Benediction

: Added an effect that increases the healing amount of Healing Sphere created through Benediction by 20~150%.

- Fervor
: Added an effect increases the attack power by 4% per stack.

2) The Crescent Moon
- Overflow

: Decreased the max. stack limit of “Overflow” from 10 times to 5 times.
: As the max. stack limit is decreased, the effect per stack increased by double.

- Eruption
- Decreased the max. stack limit of “Eruption” from 30 times to 10 times.
- As the max. stack limit is decreased, the effect per stack increased by 3 times.

[h3]■ Fixed Bug[/h3]
- Fixed so that although Priest receives “Shield of Faith” from another player while “Mark of the Wolf” Blessing is active, “Protection and Sacrifice” effect is properly applied.
- Fixed an issue where Priest’s “Retribution” skill is fired into the air when using it to the monsters around after completing gathering or mining.


[h3][Quest][/h3]
- Change the conditions for the Invasion quest of Kannus Mountains, “Creatures of Chaos” to completing “The Cursed Mountain” Crusade quest once and interacting with Suspicious Altar.
- Changed so that “Defeat Bashal” and “Defeat the Harpy Queen” during the class level quest “The Master's Test” can be also completed by defeating a Twisted Boss.


[h3][Dungeon][/h3]
- Fixed a bug where after defeating the first boss “Malignis” in the Time Dungeon “The Nightspire - Entropic Descent”, characters cannot move properly on the bridge that appears after activating a Soul Pyre in the second location.
- Changed so that the “Bloodclot” skill of “Plague Titan”, the boss of the Time Dungeon “Forgotten Sewers”, will be removed when the boss is defeated.
- Fixed an issue where the damage of Bleeding effect caused by the attack from “Vasilios”, the boss in the Time Dungeon “[Abyssal] Savantis Mausoleum - Altar of Blood”, is abnormally low.


[h3][UI/UX][/h3]
- Removed the unused rewards list button from the Reputation Menu.
- Fixed an issue where Livelihood Blessings are shown under “Combat Blessings” in the Blessings Menu.
- Fixed a bug where Mails are not shown when it becomes the combat mode while Mailbox is opened.
- Improved so that more characters can be displayed on the disabled chat window.
- Fixed a bug where the available mark for taming did not disappear even after completing the Taming quest.

[h3][Item][/h3]
- 20 second cooldown is applied to the effect of “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God”. Blood Leech effect is activated again after the cooldown period once it’s activated.


[h3][Others][/h3]
- Fixed a bug where when players are resurrected at the Soul Pyre in Kannus Mountains: Herbati Scout Camp, the players are damaged by being resurrected in the air.
- Fixed a bug where when players are resurrected at the Soul Pyre in Navarran Military Camp, the players immediately die upon resurrection by the damage from a fall.
- Fixed an issue where remaining time for item registration was not displayed properly on the “Retrieve” tab in Marketplace
- Fixed an abnormal motion when jumping in the water after falling into the water from a high position.
- Fixed a bug where when it’s refreshed to a new worker when a worker respawns in the Tavern of Estate, the worker list of the Tavern is not matched.
- Fixed some possible causes that can make Attendance not work properly.
- Fixed an issue where it was able to chat with restricted language using a chat macro.
- Changed so that all servers in the ASIA region are now under integrated Matchmaking.

[h3]▶ “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” Effect Adjustment[/h3]

As mentioned in the “Letter from PD Koven Park”, we have adjusted the effect of “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God”, one of the accessory items.

Although the “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” is a Rare grade item, its effect level has been unintentionally higher than the other rings with the same grade, as much as the higher grade items.
The need for the effect adjustment was internally mentioned, but it had to be examined thoroughly since many players are already using it.

We prioritized to provide a balanced game play by adjusting the effect of “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” deviated from the intended design, and unavoidably decided to lower the level of the effect.

We hope you understand this unavoidable adjustment for the entire game balance.

The biggest worry and concern from this long decision was that the players who already have the “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” might think the adjustment would be unreasonable for them.

We are going to maximize the rewards to the players with “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” without affecting the game economy.
We ask those players for a kind understanding.

- Adjusted Effect
: Blood Leech effect is activated again after 20 seconds(cooldown) from the previous activation.

-Rewards Details
: “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” can be exchanged for a certain amount of Star Seed at “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God Collector” NPC during the exchange period.

- Exchange Period
:September 8th ~ Before September 15th maintenance.

- How to Exchange
: Exchange at “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God Collector” NPC located in Sperios, Carzacor, Navarra, Gnoll Wastes and Tristezza.

- Exchange Price
: The amount of Star Seed will be arranged as long as it doesn’t affect the game economy and quotations.

- Only 1 exchange is available per Character

- The exchange must be done within the exchange period mentioned above.
- “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” cannot be newly obtained during the exchange period.
- It can be obtained again after the update upon the end of the exchange period.
- Limit of obtaining the “Ring of the Whispering Serpent God” is to minimize Star Seed inflation that can be caused by exchanging the item to Star Seed.

A Letter from PD Koven Park (Part 3) + September 15th (PDT) Update Content

In this third Producer’s Letter, I’d like to touch upon in more detail the main updates players can expect on September 15th (PDT). This is something we have been really looking forward to since it will be our first PC update.


Twisted Spider Queen


Twisted field bosses were first introduced through our Final Test, providing a next level field boss experience. To add to the lineup, players can expect to see the new and powerful Twisted Spider Queen (official name Twisted Void Spider Queen) in the upcoming update. As one of the more challenging field bosses, players will now be able to enjoy new combat strategies with the Twisted Spider Queen.

[h3]About the Twisted Spider Queen[/h3]
  • The Twisted Spider Queen has a base level of 42, which is significantly higher than the normal Spider Queen, indicating its difficulty.
  • Aside from the name difference, the Twisted Spider Queen also showcases a variety of new unique and complicated patterns to provide a different and entertaining combat experience.



Special Mount Reward
Those who defeat the Twisted Spider Queen will have a chance to obtain the ‘the Wyvern’ mount!




Nightspire - Caverns of Wrath


A new Time Dungeon is coming.

To celebrate the release of a new Time Dungeon, the Nightspire - Caverns of Wrath will be available beginning from the week it is released until further notice. Afterwards, it will return to a normal Time Dungeon schedule.

This dungeon was reopened due to Gideon, an important character in the main story, and boasts a concept and difficulty different from existing dungeons.


[h3]About the Nightspire - Caverns of Wrath[/h3]

Background Story
Hundreds of years ago, a dimensional rift was created as a result of an experiment involving forbidden magic conducted by a group of evil wizards called the Savantis. The rift was sealed by the Warrior King, but recently Gideon, a descendant of the Savantis, broke the seal. This area is now known as the ‘Nightspire’.

Players will need to be at least level 35 in order to enter the dungeon which is divided into 3 areas each guarded by its own boss.

[h3]First Boss[/h3]

In an area inhabited by demons mainly employing physical and fire based attacks, awaiting players is a hidden powerful monster not found in other dungeons. Having been imprisoned for a very long time, his wrath will be unlike any other boss players have ever seen.

[h3]Second Boss[/h3]

Once human, Krauss is now a subordinate of the demons, leading an army of undead. Defeat Krauss’ right hand, The Bonehoarder, and his army of undead to make your way to the throne of spears where he awaits.

[h3]Final Boss [/h3]

Welcome to Flame Lord Vale’s residence, which features a lake of lava inhabited by a lava spirit. In order to pass through an area with constant lava surges, players will need to put their control abilities to the test. At the end, be prepared to face Flame Lord Vale, whose mighty power will make even the proudest cower in fear.

A Letter to the Bless Unleashed PC Community from PD Koven Park (Part 2)

[h2]Greetings Adventurers,[/h2]

I would like to dive a little deeper in the direction where the studio is headed as I mentioned in part 1 of my letter.


[h3]First, UI/UX improvements are being made and will be announced in detail through our future roadmap.[/h3]

The studio is aware of the feedback given from our players regarding the current UI/UX system being not so PC friendly. Thus we recognize that further improvements are needed to the existing system.

Much of the feedback including the marketplace search function, keyboard and mouse interface, display of content information etc. are being thoroughly reviewed so we can create a more immersive gameplay experience. Please be aware that each and every piece of feedback is being investigated in our development team and will continue to be improved through future patches.

Details regarding the UI/UX improvements will be revealed through a future roadmap so players can fully understand what will be changed beforehand.


[h3]Second, we will be strengthening both security and penalties regarding hackers and illegal programs.[/h3]

[h3][Illegal Programs][/h3]
Abnormal content play using illegal programs has recently been increasing.
We have strengthened in-game monitoring and are restricting game play for accounts that have been confirmed to use illegal programs. We will do our best to eradicate the use of illegal programs by continually investigating and updating the game so players can enjoy a comfortable gameplay experience.


[h3][Real Money Trading Advertisements] [/h3]
We are currently actively monitoring and restricting players advertising real money trading.
However, because these players constantly create different patterns to advertise, we will and are continuing to strengthen our internal filtering system as well as building automatic restriction systems in response to developments on this issue.

[h3][Abnormal Transactions + Starseed Real Money Trading][/h3]
Players abusing payment related chargebacks, fraud, or unpaid card fines are now automatically restricted by our integrated detection systems. In addition, we have been tracking, collecting and restricting users who have been using the in-game marketplace to move Star Seed as a part of abnormal transactions by selling a usually low cost item at an unusually high price.


The Round 8 Studio team promises to do their best to eradicate illegal programs and users participating in illegal transactions continuously.


[h3]Third, our focus is on improving class and content balance.[/h3]

The development team is aware of the issues surrounding balance, and have been reviewing and testing all feedback received from our users. In order to build a strong and lasting game balance, we are being extremely careful when it comes to adjusting the performance of characters, Blessings, and items.

Currently, we are refraining from applying any sudden balance reduction updates to prevent our players from feeling a sense of loss. However, modifications cannot be avoided in the case of gameplay bugs, where content overwhelms the players unintentionally, and when content is not functioning as designed. It may be a disappointing update for some players, but we ask for your understanding that it is a necessary adjustment to allow more players to enjoy the game.

We recognize that there are some issues such as how certain Blessings have comparatively low efficiency or are not as usable mechanism-wise, as well as issues where the content was made too easy to complete.

We plan to employ the following direction in balance updates that will be made to address these issues.


[h2][Crusader] [/h2]
  • Crusader - Mark of the Wolf
    - The concept of continuous damage for the Crusader Mark of the Wolf will be strengthened.
    - The ratio of damage from Bleeding as well as the max stackable amount of Bleeding will be increased. The Crusader’s position as a durational damage specialist will be enhanced through changes such as the effect being changed to Excess Bleeding if another skill is used when Bleeding is stacked.

  • Crusader - Lionheart Legacy
    - The Crusader’s Lionheart Legacy provides both buffs and damage when using Shout skills. Changes prepared for the Lionheart Legacy are expected to increase overall attack ability. Damage will be increased for when Shout skills are used due to Roar of the Lion, and combo damage from the shout effect will also be increased to output an amount of damage equal to the complexity of the Blessing’s controls.


For The Crescent Moon, changes such as increasing the duration of the defensive stance for the core skill ‘Counterattack’ so that enemy attacks can be blocked easier are currently being made to make it easier to manage.


[h2][MAGE] [/h2]
  • Mage - Lionheart Legacy
    - The Mage’s Lionheart Legacy class specializes in Flame-type combos and skills.
    - Due to the large amount of mana consumption for Flame-type combos, by the time the Chain Explosion effect is activated, the lack of mana prevents the user from using additional skills when needed. This is currently being addressed to give the Mage class more flexibility in their skill usage. Also, the issue where the Chain Explosion effect did not apply to Meteor skill will also be fixed to offer a more fluid skill effect application. We will also make adjustments to the effect of Madness of Fire, by making changes to the damage radius and other changes to the small meteor when Flame Wave is used.

  • Mage - The Crescent Moon
    - It has proven to be difficult to maintain the selection between Flame-type and Arcane-type skills. And to quickly address the concern, the effect durations for each skill will be increased for an easier, and fluid skill management.


In the case of the Mage class, the studio is aware of the biggest concern of the constant lack of mana.
And the devs are constantly reviewing a suitable balance for the class and we hope our players can expect some great changes coming their way.

[h2][RANGER] [/h2]
  • Ranger - Gift of Valor
    - We are ready to upgrade the core effect for Gift of Valor, ‘Flash’. Players can expect the increased duration of the ‘Flashing’ effect as well the effect duration reset when the same effect is applied while the other is still in effect.


  • Ranger - Lionheart Legacy
    - Upgrade to the ‘Scarred’ debuff effect to bring more out of the team synergy.
    - The max stack will be increased and when ‘Bottomless Quiver’ is used while the effect is applied, additional ‘Scarred’ effect will be added at a certain rate which is a significant buff to the class.
    - Also additional mechanics can be expected to be added to incentive the use of the ‘Bottomless Quiver’ skill.
    While the changes may not be so dynamic, the adjustments will change the Range class to be more suitable, and contribute more in teamplay scenarios.



[h2][PRIEST] [/h2]
  • Priest - Lionheart Legacy
  • In terms of the Priest’s blessing, the system is designed so that the class will recovery HP through damage output and in the case of the Lionheart Legacy, ‘Benediction’ is the prime example. Adn with the upcoming balance changes, the effects of the Healing Orbs increase when the skill is upgraded.
  • Also, the ‘Fervor’ effect, in addition to the increased attack speed, it also applies increased attack damage effect to allow the class to be more aggressive then the current meta.

  • Priest - The Crescent Moon
    - The process leading up to the activation core mechanics of the Blessing, and applying the effects is arduous and difficult to master in the current design. Adjustments to the Divine Strike, and Eruptions skill will be made for easier class control.

  • Priest - Mark of the Wolf
    - This particular Blessing is regularly being reviewed for its efficiency. ‘Protection and Sacrifice’ skill contains effects that increase attack damage and recovers HP and is considered a high-performing skill but the studio’s core direction is that the Blessings itself are designed to be suitable and optimized for certain scenarios/contents in the game. Thus currently under review. If the recovery effect have higher performance output from other HP recovery skill effects, necessary adjustments will be made, after a thorough internal testing and feedback from our players.



[h2][BERSERKER] [/h2]
In the case of the Berserker class, and the data gathered, indicators show that based on the number of Berserker class and the selection of the available Blessings, the blessing selection is geared towards one specific Blessing.

This does not necessary mean that the balance between the Berserker class and the available Blessings are not in tuned, but instead that regardless of the selection of the Blessing, the combination between ‘Rage’ and ‘Guillotine’ is too overpowered which makes the selection of Blessing meaningless.

This balance is currently under review and as stated earlier, does not mean a nerf to the class. Similar to Gift of Valor, if the effects are directly tied to attack skills, adjustments such as buffing the skill, ‘Whirlwind’ is under consideration to have an alternative skill selection other than ‘Guillotine’. And in the cases where a skill is forced to be used similar to Crescent Moon’s Rage: Extinction, we are looking into options to change the mechanism of the Blessing as a whole.

While the mentioned adjustments and changes are still in its early stages, as soon as the appropriate balance changes are made, our users will be informed of the final changes.

The studio is always continuously reviewing the balances between each class as well as other contents which are listed below.

[h2][Adjustment to the Invasion balance][/h2]
Despite the extensive waiting time to participate in regional Invasions, the time it takes to complete the Invasions is very short. Thus, players that wish to participate in the Invasion content have a fairly short, and limited time window. And to mitigate the issue, a scaling system will be applied based on the number of participants in the Invasion that will adjust the monster’s HP. The appropriate balance changes will be applied first, and increasing the quality of the Invasion rewards are currently in review.


[h2][Dungeon & Reward Balance Adjustment][/h2]
The Abyssal dungeons are currently set to have the highest difficulty level in the game. And also aware of the unrealistic condition to enter the dungeon thus implementing a system that will raise the current entry condition to the specific dungeons. Also internal balance adjustments to specific dungeons will be made, and in return, increase the dungeon clear compensation.

Also, players can expect to see some changes to the accessories that have been underperforming from the intended design and add new accessories that will provide additional utility in the future patches. Timed Dungeon compensations will drop an array of accessories that will be useful in many contents of the game.


[h2][PVP Balance][/h2]
PvP Balance will continuously be reviewed and adjusted based on the current state of the game.

The official PvP Season will start with the Fall update, and before the official start of the season, the following changes will be applied.

To avoid battles that decide the winners and losers based on the character’s equipment, skills and stats, it will be adjusted to be geared more towards the player’s controls and expertise in the game.
This will include general adjustments to PvP balance and the PvP attack damage multipliers. And constantly review skills and effects in the content to maintain the right balance between all classes.



We understand that many of these upcoming changes may not be so welcoming to some of our players but many changes are not permanent and subject to change based on the data and importantly, feedback from our players.
