THE NIGHTSHADE UPDATE

Hi everyone!

The Nightshade update is finally here!

We know this took a long time; we encountered some issues that made it take a lot longer than we expected.
So first, we want to apologize for the delay. In the future, we will work harder so that this won't happen again.

We also want to thank you all for your patience and continued support. Special thanks to all the beta players on our Discord who have helped us a lot during this process! We couldn’t do it without you all!
For the next update, we will be focusing on adding new areas and bosses, and expanding our enemy monster roster.

To celebrate the Nightshade finally arriving, we will also be running a special discount of 25% off for a week, until August 26th!

So, without further ado, here are the patch notes for this update!

[h3]Highlights[/h3]

-- Added Erith, the Nightshade.

-- Added Nightshade deck (55+ cards).

-- Added 9 new units, totaling 25 recruitable units.

-- Added Runes: consumable items to aid you in battle.

-- Added post-battle damage overview: a breakdown of how much damage was dealt during battle and by who/what.

-- Added manual targeting: you can manually select a target for each of your allies, once per battle.

-- Added Steam Cloud Save.

-- Reworked turns: End Turn button and Pause button are now the Battle Clock.

-- Added Sanctus boss relics: choose a powerful card-related relic as a boss reward.

-- Added Virtus boss relics: choose a powerful unit-related relic as a boss reward.


[h3]Gameplay Changes[/h3]

-- Bosses are now randomized per area.

-- Units can now be upgraded beyond level 3 (up to 5 + Star Crystal).

-- Changed how statuses are stacked.

-- Hero units can now be moved to the Bench.

-- Changed Splash (now half of the damage is dealt to all units).

-- Some Corruption Levels were reworked.

-- Added Stable status to cards (Stable cards are not automatically discarded at the end of your turn).

-- Added Enroot status (Enrooted units can’t move).

-- Added Slippery status (the unit will evade all attacks for a time).

-- Added Leech status (the unit will drain Health from the enemy and heal itself for the same amount drained).

-- Added Charm status (the unit is converted into its enemy side for a time).

-- Added Blind status (Blind units have a 50% chance of missing when attacking).

-- Added Pure Damage (pure damage ignores Shield).

-- Added Decay Claw (attacks inflict Decay for a time).

-- Added Infectious status (when the unit gets hit, the attacker is inflicted with Decay).

-- Added Multistrike (unit attacks multiple times in a row).

-- Added Diagon Slide.

-- Added Omni Slide.

-- Added Piglet (Neutral; summon a Piglet to the board).

-- Added Gopher (Neutral; summon a Gopher to the board).

-- Added Recycle (Neutral; put the cards in the deplete pile in your hand).

-- Added Miasma (Nightshade; inflict Decay on all units in the target area).

-- Added Acid Rain (Nightshade; inflict Decay on all enemy units).

-- Added Double Decay (Nightshade; doubles the Decay of all enemy units).

-- Added Decay (Nightshade; inflict Decay on the target).

-- Added Decay Claw (Nightshade; gain Decay Claw).

-- Added Light Armor (Nightshade; this turn, every time a card is played, a random ally gains Shield).

-- Added Safe Grip (Nightshade; for a time, gain Might after every successful attack).

-- Added Decay Trap (Nightshade; when activated, inflicts Decay on all surrounding enemies).

-- Added Vulture Harpy (Leeches Health from the target; can also gain Haste and Lifesteal if the target is below a certain Health threshold).

-- Added Quetzal Harpy (deals damage to all surrounding enemies and can also inflict Stun).

-- Added Macaw Harpy (lays eggs).

-- Added Mouseketeer (gains Multistrike and can also gain Haste).

-- Added Brown Mouseketeer (throws Cheese on a random tile and can also give Energy).

-- Added White Mouseketeer (jumps and attacks a random enemy multiple times, can also inflict Stun).

-- Added Rainbow Coatl (inflicts Decay to all enemies, can also inflict Slow).

-- Added Red Coatl (creates an aura that deals damage every second to adjacent enemies, can also create an aura that inflicts Fracture).

-- Added Light Coatl (creates an aura that gives Shield every second to adjacent allies, can also create an aura that restores Health).

--ALL enemy and ally units got rebalanced.


[h3]Alliance Changes[/h3]

-- Added Malefic alliance (whenever a non-Ephemeral unit dies, Malefic units gain mana).

-- Added Toxic alliance (whenever an enemy suffers unblocked damage by a card, it is inflicted with Decay).

-- Added Grifter alliance (allies have a 3% chance of getting 1 gold on hit).

-- Added Thief alliance (allies have a 10% chance of attacking twice. One item will cost 0 gold at the shop).

-- Added Bestial alliance (every 10th attack landed by an ally, it gains more damage).

-- Added Occultist alliance (whenever a non-Ephemeral ally unit dies, it comes back as a Clone).

-- Added Hunter alliance (whenever a Hunter uses a skill, all traps on the board are triggered. If there are no traps, 1 random trap will be created).

-- Added Bright alliance (whenever a Bright unit casts a skill, gain Energy).

-- Added Glassy alliance (the first time a Glassy unit is damaged in battle, it gains Haste and Lifesteal for a time, and more damage).

-- Added Dancer alliance (at the start of the battle, 1 random non-boss enemy will be inflicted with Charm for a time).


[h3]Relic Changes[/h3]

-- Added Star Crystal (drop on a non-Hero unit to randomly upgrade it).

-- Added Royal Crest (pick a Hero upgrade).

-- Changed The Sleeper’s value from 150 to 75.

-- Reworked Eye of Mephisto (now it only works on non-Ephemeral units)


[h3]Event Changes[/h3]

-- Added Sunny Day (in-battle; all allies start the battle with Might).

-- Added A Blessing (in-battle; all allies start the battle with Shield).

-- Added Dark Fog (in-battle; all units start the battle inflicted with Blind for a time).

-- Added Golden Scarab (in-battle; during the battle, Golden Scarabs might appear in the area. Click them if you can!).

-- Cadmean Victory event can now affect all of your units, not just the units currently in your party.


[h3]Fixes[/h3]

-- Fixed Bumper Cars Achievement.

-- Fixed Dragon Egg interaction with Illusion card.

-- Fixed Decay not being removed by Purify.

-- Fixed Stalker units randomly disappearing.

-- And a LOT more.


[h3]Quality of Life[/h3]

-- A lot of UI improvements and polish.

-- Removed trees that were blocking the way on certain camera angles.

-- Changed the music (not final).

-- Remade a lot of old unit sounds.

-- Cards now appear in pop-ups whenever they are removed, added, or otherwise modified on your
deck.

-- Added an option to disable all particles.

-- Reworked how units’ targets are visually shown.

-- Global statuses now appear on the UI.

-- You can now switch between party and Bench units by dragging and dropping a unit’s portrait onto another’s.

Alive and almost live

Hey everyone!

Dropping by to say that we are still alive and working on the next update!

A small update on the next update

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to give you all a small update on the state of development.

For this past month, we've been working on adding new content and improving the gameplay experience.

The next update will include the new Hero, with her own deck and units, with a unique playstyle! If everything goes right, this update should see the light of day by the end of this month!

We are also working on getting the game translated ASAP. Our initial goal is to include German, Simplified Chinese, French, Brazilian Portuguese, and Russian.

We wanted to thank you all for the continuous feedback and support you've been giving us, and for your patience with the next update.

-- Fixed duplicated node in run history.
-- Illusion card doesn’t clone boss anymore.

Gameplay Changes

-- Added Redirect status (unit receives 25% of all damage dealt to its allies).
-- Slightly raised gold gain per battle.
-- Locked content is now displayed as “locked” on the Compendium.
-- Giant Slime fusion can now only be achieved by pushing one Pet Slime into another from a specific distance (5 tiles).
-- Added back Stalker alliance jump delay (you can now target the Stalker unit mid-jump using the unit’s portrait).
-- Stalker units now won’t jump if there is a target in front of them.
