No Plan B "'SPLOSIONS" Update (Beta 8)

This one's gonna blow!

New Grenades

We'll never have enough grenades, right?
So here are new ways to mess up with your foes...
Shock Grenades
Derived from the Stun Grenade, the Shock Grenade will shock (really? shocking!) agents in the area of effect.
When shocked, agents have reduced speed and accuracy.
Thunderbolt Grenades
The Thunderbold Grenade is a more accurate and deadly variant of the Frag Grenade.
Useful when you want to be 100% sure that a certain area of the map is empty.
Storm Grenades
The Storm Grenade, on the contrary, has a large area of effect but deals less damage.
Your new tool of choice for weakening hostiles in large rooms.
Decoy Grenades
The Decoy Grenade will make a lot of noise, pulling enemies towards it.
Placed correctly, it will give you the upper hand when you walk into the room and everyone turns their backs on you.
Stinger Grenades
The Stinger Grenade will have the opposite effect and knock them away from the area by casting painful rubber balls.
Ideal for clearing a path or moving any threat from a specific area.

Skills

Skills can now be unlocked using credits (previously called "weapon points") instead of skill points.
From now on, the campaign missions will instantly reward you with credits.
This should give you an earlier opportunity to forge your squad's specialties.
New Skills
The level 3 of the Designated Marksman skill has been added, providing a wider field of view and allowing you to monitor more windows.

Shield lovers will also benefit from the new Tank skill which improves their speed.
Merged Skills
The following skills have been merged into a single one:
 • The Grenadier and Quarterback skills
 • The Door Smasher and Lock Picker skills
 • The Runner and Agile skills

Perks

Perks can also be purchased using credits!
The other big difference is that most of them can now be used in any mission (Skirmish, Random, Challenge, Custom and obviously Campaign).

Also, new perks are finally here!
They'll give you a big advantage, sometimes with a few drawbacks, giving you the opportunity to play the game a bit differently.
Be careful though, each perk will only apply for one try and are pretty expensive (prices subject to change depending on your feedback). So make it count!

Squad Heal, Squad Rest and Arsenal Resupply will remain campaign specific, as they don't make much sense outside of that context.
Deafening Strike Perk
Deafens enemies, preventing them from reacting to sounds during the mission.
This perk will allow you to sneak around without attracting surrounding hostiles. It should prove useful in escort missions ;)
Night Raid Perk
Attack in the dark of night after cutting off the electricity to the building.
Enemies will have very limited vision range, unlike you and your tacticool night vision goggles 8)
They will, however, slightly limit your field of view. Be extra careful when checking your corners!
Tear Gas Perk
Spray tear gas into the ventilation to disorient the hostiles inside the building.
Their field of view and accuracy will be significantly reduced.
Your gas masks will protect you from these effects, but breathing through them will impact your speed.
Map Scan Perk
This one is not new but has been reworked a bit.
You can now use it a maximum of 3 times on each mission. Each time you use it, it will improve the accuracy of the approximate position of hostiles and civilians.
Note that civilian positions will no longer be predicted by default and if you want to use lethal grenades you will probably have to scan beforehand to avoid collateral damage...

UX Improvements

2 long-requested features are finally coming to the game...
Locking the timeline
You can now lock the timeline using a toggle, replacing the (good old) Control key you had to hold down until now.

Note that you can still use this toggle with the Control key shortcut.
Isolating the selected character
Isolate the selected character with this new toggle, replacing the Alt key.

Note that you can also use the Alt key shortcut to toggle it.
