Early Access - Patch 0.10.0 ๐Ÿ› ๏ธ

Not so long ago, we celebrated the release of the "Great People" milestone presented on our Content RoadMap, but our work continues at full speed. Thanks to your valuable feedback, which you willingly share via Steam, social media channels and our Discord server, we have managed to prepare another significant Patch.

[h3]Brace yourselves, Rulers! Changes are coming...[/h3]

As usual, you can check out all the new features summarized in our Patch Notes. However, we also invite you to the more descriptive part, which can be found below the novelties list ๐Ÿ“œ There, we provide more information about the changes introduced in the new update and explain in more detail how they will affect your empire and the people inhabiting it.





[h2]Patch 0.10.0 Notes:[/h2]

โ€ข Added distinguished food preferences among different social classes and raised the amount of food that all classes eat

โ€ข Enhanced pathfinding algorithm for Storage Workers. Storage Workers now pick paths that are shorter and try to pick new ones after building new or destroying existing roads

โ€ข The player can now view the path of the Storage Workers more precisely after clicking them

โ€ข The importance of Agora and Marketplace has been increased. Houses outside their range (marked with an appropriate icon) cannot refill their local Pantry to its full value, which lowers the overall happiness level of specific social classes

โ€ข Performing basic rituals in religious buildings is now easier due to lowering amount and variety of resources needed

โ€ข Added new gods-devoted decorations, the construction of which slows down the decline in their Cult Points

โ€ข Better balance of prices of the goods when trading. Now every resource is properly valued, and the selling price is lower than buying one

โ€ข Changes to the random events - from now on they offer more detailed information, and their effects on gameplay have been rebalanced

โ€ข Merchants now inform the player about the goods they offer in advance, even when Polis don't have access to given good

โ€ข Wax and Wax Boards will be now more early-game resources

โ€ข Relocation of production buildings is now always available

โ€ข The number of current employees of the given production building (after its work was suspended) is now displayed correctly

โ€ข Enhanced transparency of the Workforce Panel in Economy Panel. Now adjusting priority and boosting specific buildings should be more clear

Keep a close eye on your city's food supplies after updating the game. The new Patch may cause them to start melting quickly as residents are now consuming more food!

As promised at the beginning of this entry, weโ€™ve also prepared some more in-depth details about the new changes. They will give you an even better understanding of what will happen in your city thanks to the Patch 0.10.0, so... here they are!



[h3]The diet of your subjects ๐ŸŸ[/h3]
We noticed that overflowing granaries in your Polis were a common sight, and therefore decided to increase the gluttony of each social group, which now prefers a particular type of food. The Thets are most likely to devour fish, representatives of the Zeugitai class relish red meat, and the Geomori may not refuse fish and meat, but it is wheat products that they like best.

[h3]Storage Workers ๐Ÿ“ฆ[/h3]
Storage Workers tirelessly move goods around your city, often so focused on their tasks that they miss the designated paths you've set for them. Thatโ€™s no longer the case. Now, all Storage Workers will follow optimized routes to Warehouses and Production Buildings, responding to every new road created.

[h3]Capricious Pantheon โšก[/h3]
The Greek Gods can be capricious at times, but we understand that their anger was not something that should fall so often on your thriving Polis. To remedy this, we sent a delegation all the way to the top of Olympus and convinced each of the Gods to hold back their anger long enough for the city to spread its wings. Performing basic rituals in their name is now easier due to the lowering amount and variety of resources needed. Not to mention new sacred decorations that will slow down the decline in their satisfaction.

[h3]New trading prices โš–๏ธ[/h3]
We have sent our chief economist on a mission to revalidate the prices of goods and resources in other cities, and now you can be sure that each of them is worth the right number of drachmas. Itโ€™s up to you to choose if your wealth will come from precious metals, large-scale raw material production, or by mastering a niche sector and trading the most advanced goods.

The path was winding and full of surprises, but weโ€™ve at last arrived at the Second Milestone โœŒ๏ธ, everyone! We are truly thrilled to reach this point, as it marks the next stage in the carefully planned development of our flagship title โ€“ Builders of Greece.

And although we have already managed to implement some of its assumptions announced in our Content RoadMap (we will talk about them below in a moment), there are also completely new features we want to show you. One way or another, our wonderful guests will soon arrive at the gates of our city, so let's not delay any longer and get straight to the point ๐Ÿ“œ We don't want to keep them waiting, do we?

[h2]Making a long story short - what's new? ๐Ÿง[/h2]

If after seeing the Overview above you still feel like you want to learn more about the latest Patch, no worries - we got you! We know that many of you want to test the new features introduced with the "Great People" Milestone right away, so we have prepared a short summary of the most crucial information:


โ€ข Great People ๐Ÿ‘‘ - from now on, prominent Greek characters can come to your city, each influencing your society in a different, positive way

โ€ข New Economy Panel ๐Ÿ“ˆ - Decide which buildings should work more efficiently and which may slow down. Grant or deny access to goods to your citizens, and manage production in your empire even more precisely

โ€ข New events ๐Ÿ“œ - Random events are what make the gameplay more engaging and interesting. From now on, you can come across new (both positive and negative) occurrences

โ€ข Building Relocation ๐Ÿ”„ - We managed to implement this feature a few weeks ago. Thanks to it, you can freely move buildings that have already been built

โ€ข Improved decorations ๐ŸŒฟ - Similar to above, this enhancement is already present in the game. It allows you to decorate your city more accurately, which affects the well-being of your subjects





[h2]Great People among the streets of your city ๐Ÿ‘ฆ[/h2]

The arrival of notable, famous and simply powerful figures is always good news for your empire, hence you should always make sure that they want to honor you with their presence. These finest among the people of Greece are highly desired by rulers across the land, so it is natural that they will choose only properly prepared cities as the destination of their journey.

In the Great People panel, you will see a list of requirements presented by each of the iconic figures. When you manage to fulfill it, you can be sure that they will soon knock on the gates of your city ๐Ÿšช When this happens, you can accurately track the patron's location and activity, and most importantly - their influence.



We don't want to deprive you of the pleasure of discovering new characters, so we will only say that they can influence, for example, the production efficiency, your relationship with Gods, research, the combat abilities of your units and much, much more!


[h2]The New Economy Panel ๐Ÿ“Š[/h2]

We're excited to announce the arrival of the new Economy dashboard, as this's a feature you've been asking for in your reviews and Discord chats... and we are always happy to meet your demands ๐Ÿ˜ We completely understand why you wanted us to implement it - it turns out that it is difficult to find a more precise and efficient way to manage the city's economy.



With the Panel, for example, you can decide the production efficiency of selected buildings, grant or deny access to particular goods to different social classes, or assign additional workers to your warehouses. In addition, you can easily stop or resume the operation of selected workshops, farms and other useful buildings. This is the power that a true Ruler deserves!


[h2]New Events ๐Ÿ“ฃ[/h2]

The Random Event system is already well known to you, and now it's even more engaging, random and unpredictable. The perverse fate that watches over your Polis may turn out to be capricious or benevolent... and there is no way to anticipate its next move ๐Ÿ”ฎ

Among the new events are, for example: medicine discovery, trade boom, grace of the Gods, or resource discovery. Sounds pretty friendly, doesn't it? Unfortunately, there are two sides to every coin, with the dark half being, for example: epidemics, pirate ships ๐Ÿดโ€โ˜ ๏ธ, resource shortages or even overloaded goods destruction.
