Build 127 is live!

  • CHANGED Updated shop art
    • Units are now locked inside prison cells
    • The shopkeeper (a.k.a. jailer) has appeared
  • CHANGED Update mountain biome base maps
    • Design changed for improved visual clarity while playing
  • NEW Trade Offer Encounters
    • Swap one unit for another, these will now randomly appear while playing
    • The shopkeeper also appears here
  • FIX Incorrect quicksand tile placement in swamp
  • FIX Stat punishment tooltip showed incorrect information

Build 126 is live!

Hey everyone, this is another smallish patch while we continue work on the new biome. We've reworked the rewards and punishment UI and expanded the possible options, hopefully this will make runs a little more varied in the early game.

  • CHANGED upgrade to Unity 2021.2.2f1
  • NEW instructional banners in maze and shop rooms
  • NEW reworked reward and punishment system
    • removed the clock from the storyline view
    • tooltips now indicate when a reward will become a punishment (and vice versa)
    • introduced new rewards and punishments to permanently alter a unit's stats
  • CHANGED reworked units traits to cap buffs at +4 ATK and +4 DEF
    • crazy buffs are fun but the enemies are way too powerful in the final encounter with unlimited buffing, it's for your own good

Build 125 is live!

  • FIXED Sometimes enemies were spawned in the wrong biome
  • FIXED All traits are now available as rewards or punishments
  • FIXED Correct use of colour to indicate trait valence (i.e. positive / negative) in tooltips
  • CHANGED Redesigned fast-exit room buttons
  • NEW Music / volume control panel
  • NEW Army lineup is visible on the shop (for decision making)
  • NEW Units with negative ATK and DEF will die from "weakness"
    • This prevents lonely units running away forever


We're working on the first major content update to add a brand new biome: The Desert. No firm release date yet but I expect to make good progress this month. We'll continue to roll out bug fixes, balance tweaks and small content additions throughout the month :)

Build 124 is live!



  • NEW Added two swamp biome maps
  • NEW Introduced 8 new unit traits
    • Xenophobe: gain +1 ATK for each friendly unit of the same class deployed
    • Guarded: gain +1 DEF for each friendly unit of the same class deployed
    • Complementarian: gain +1 ATK for each friendly, unique class deployed
    • TeamWarded: gain +1 DEF for each friendly, unique class deployed
    • Bloodbound: gain +1 ATK for each friendly unit of the same element deployed
    • Bloodblessed: gain +1 DEF for each friendly unit of the same element deployed
    • Bloodblocked: gain +1 ATK for each friendly, unique element deployed
    • Bloodbuilt: gain +1 DEF for each friendly, unique element deployed
  • CHANGED Tweaked procedural run generation, shops and mazes are less likely to appear early on and more likely to appear when most useful.

Build 123 is live!

  • FIX - help UI prompt was in the wrong location
  • CHANGE - map data parser / generator can mix and match map components even if they are of differing dimensions

    • This expands the scope of the generator and should yield a slightly higher variety
  • NEW - introduced another mountain map, "Corner"
  • CHANGE - improved the map art in "Ridge"
