Digital Art Contest - Have Your Work Featured in DEVOUR's Upcoming New Map

Calling all digital artists!

We're running a competition to have a piece of fan art included in DEVOUR's new, upcoming map.
We're looking for something that can be used as a large, unframed wall poster with the theme 'anti animal cruelty' (especially farm animals like cows, pigs and sheep). Feel free to play around with this concept in a comedic way!

Art should be submitted via the #art-contest channel of our Discord server. You can join our Discord server here. High resolution image files (PNG/JPG), over 2048x2048 only please. The final date for submissions is 10am PDT on 8th July 2022, after which the development team will review all submissions and vote for a winner. If we receive a large number of submissions, we may choose two winners. Artists may submit multiple entries if they wish to.

Please feel free to get in touch with any questions in the comment section below, by DMing CosmicChatter#0690 in our Discord server, or by DMing us on Twitter.

We're working super hard on DEVOUR's new, upcoming map, as well as lots of other exciting things. For more, check out our recent news post, and keep an eye out for teasers and more details in the near future!

Official Soundtrack Release & 2022 Roadmap

Official Soundtrack

We're thrilled to announce that the release of the official DEVOUR soundtrack, composed by Steve Brooks and Peter Fender, is available to buy NOW! This high quality OST allows you to enjoy the spine-tingling sounds of DEVOUR as you return to all your favourite game locations in this unique horror soundscape.

The soundtrack's 21 tracks includes every chilling ambient score and main menu theme music from each of our currently released maps. We will continue to update the Soundtrack as we release new maps.

VR Support

We know many of you have been eagerly waiting to find out whether DEVOUR will implement VR, and we are excited to reveal that we will release VR support from 4th August 2022. This will be included in the main game with no additional purchase required if you already own the game.

If you are interested in helping us test the VR implementation ahead of release, head over to our Discord server and type +vr in any text channel. There is currently no official date for when the VR Beta will begin.

Price Increase

When DEVOUR was originally released, it only had a single map and as a small team we worked hard in our spare time alongside other commitments to ensure its successful launch.

However, in order to secure the future of DEVOUR and continue to bring you high-quality content, maps and features, we are increasing the base price of the game to $7.99 from 4th Aug 2022. This only applies to those who have not yet purchased the game. Existing owners of DEVOUR will never need to pay to play new maps.

We could not be happier that we've been able to build the DEVOUR community to the size it is today - it's truly a dream come to true for us. Thank you, each and every one of you, for your support.

Supporter Edition

We can also reveal that from 4th August 2022, a brand new Supporter Edition of DEVOUR will be available to buy on Steam as a way to enjoy unique DEVOUR content and further support the game's continuing development. This will include unique outfits and flashlight skins, as well as official art, and more!

Here is a sneak-peak preview of one of the unique cosmetics that will be available as part of the Supporter Edition.

For more details, head over to the Steam Store Page and Wishlist Now!

Next Map

As always, we're busy working on a new map. We'll reveal more information when we're ready, but for now we can confirm that we are targeting September 2022 for a release date. Here's a teaser screenshot of one of the many gruesome locations you'll find in your next attempt to banish Azazel.

Please remember, creating new maps takes a huge amount of work, so please be patient with us as we do our best to bring you many more DEVOUR themed scares!

v3.0.19

Please note that all users will need to update Devour to play on the same server.

- Fix for a crash that sometimes occured for Mac OSX users on The Farmhouse
- Reconnect spawn points on The Inn and The Farmhouse have changed so that if you are dead you are not softlocked on reconnect
- Fix for an edge case where Zara would scream whilst running after emerging from a hole
- Reconnect modal shown on game launch cannot be closed when pressing the Esc key anymore
- Fix for when servers sometimes did not appear in the server browser at peak times

v3.0.18

The time has come! You can now play as Azazel in our brand new 4v1 asymmetrical game mode.

Sorry, it won't actually ever happen. Happy April Fool's Day! On to the actual (somewhat boring) changelog:

- The Town on Nightmare can now only be played if you have beaten it in Normal or Hard first (same as all other maps)
- Fixed an edge case issue where a ritual book became invisible when placed on the altar but not burned
- Sam will now reliably stand still to enrage even if he is about to destroy a hiding spot

For this patch, all clients and host will need to update. Restart Steam and make sure you are on v3.0.18.

v3.0.17

- Potential fix for a hang/crash that could occur due to a CPU thread locking up
- Fix for Spiders that were sometimes not avoiding other spiders correctly
- Fix for Sam not always activating his enrage animation on 10 books burnt
- Ghosts no longer get stuck when fleeing if they pick up a book directly under a player
- Server browser no longer appears underneath the main menu if you click the exit button immediately after hosting a game
