This update requires a re-build of some cache files, so is about 400mb, but only the following things have changed:

- Adds back TAA anti-aliasing option. Is known to cause issues so only use if you must.
- Anna will now be unlocked when completing Hard mode on any map.
- Fixed some issues with ultra-wide screen monitors
- Fixed crash when using a gamepad without the battery button bound
- Fixed Anna's hair sometimes vanishing

Update 2.2: New Playable Character, Custom Outfit, Flashlight Skins & More!

We are excited to roll out Update 2.2 for DEVOUR. It brings you new playable character Anna Puerta, as well as an incredible new cosmetic, flashlight skins, a new perk, farmhouse mechanic changes and more. Please scroll down to see the full changelog as well as details on the next map.

[h2]New Character: Anna Puerta[/h2]

Anna Puerta has long been a fan favourite in DEVOUR lore, with her origins in DEVOUR's sequel game The Watchers. To clear up any confusion, Anna is a new, playable team member. You cannot play as possessed Anna (the demon) from the Farmhouse map. To play as Anna, you must complete Hard mode on any map.

We're also incredibly proud of the stunning new cosmetic, Mistress of Sin, that we're making available for Anna Puerta in this update.



[h2]New: Custom Flashlight Skins[/h2]

Introducing Flashlight skins, because who says you can't look good while burning hordes of demonic minions? Some flashlight skins can be unlocked with in-game Ritual Tokens, and some are paid for.









[h2]New Perk: Supercharged[/h2]



New perk 'Supercharged', increases movement speed by 30% for 20 seconds after using a battery.

[h2]Farmhouse Changes[/h2]

We've made 2 changes to The Farmhouse.
  • The altar pit now requires a long interact to pour gasoline
  • Anna will now stand still to scream on a goat burn (unless she is actively chasing someone)

Please let me explain some of the reasons for why we are making these changes:
  1. Anna had a bug. She wouldn't stand still to scream like the other AI and this lead to situations where the audio logic would break. By fixing this, it made The Farmhouse easier and so the long interact acts as a natural counterbalance to this.
  2. To balance the difficulty between maps. The Farmhouse is considerably easier than other maps (when using certain strategies) and so it ended up being the map that a large majority of players picked when grinding. We want all of our players to feel like they can play on any map.
  3. To give certain perks more value outside of just The Inn.
  4. To build more tension. The long interact mechanics were designed when creating The Inn and based on the positive feedback from our playerbase, we wanted to bring those mechanics into other maps. These small changes can have a very large impact on the fear factor that players, especially new ones, will experience in DEVOUR.

  • Full gamepad support for all menus (Note: Bindings will be reset to default in this update - apologies for any inconvenience caused!)
  • New perk: Supercharged
  • New playable character: Anna Puerta
  • New outfit for Anna: Mistress of Sin
  • New flashlight skins (some unlockable via Ritual Token, some paid-for)
  • Three story notes have been added to The Inn map
  • A new voice line has been added to the ending of The Inn map
  • Inmates no longer look at knocked out players
  • Players will be knocked out if they jump on the altar fire on the The Farmhouse
  • Tweaked the UI above player names in the Lobby to include a mute button
  • Removed TAA option from video settings
  • Updated some localizations that were out of date

We are also excited to announce that we are hard at work on DEVOUR's next map, which is due for release in 2022 and will feature Sam as the possessed antagonist. We also have plans to release more outfits, skins and perks in future. Keep an eye out for further details!

[h2]Christmas Update[/h2]
We'll release a small update to celebrate Christmas hopefully around next week.

Halloween Update: EXP Boost and Unlockable Pumpkin Robe

Trick or treat?

Here at DEVOUR, we're celebrating spooky season with a brand new, limited edition robe and a 1.5x EXP Boost only available between October 25th @ 10am PDT - November 1st @ 10am PDT. For the full 2.1.7 changelog, see the bottom of this news post.

[h3]Pumpkin Robe[/h3]



To unlock this unique cosmetic, you'll have to find and collect the 30 creepy Halloween pumpkins hidden across all maps. Once unlocked, you will still be able to wear the robe after the Halloween event has ended.



[h3]EXP Boost[/h3]

We know that a lot of you will be wanting to play DEVOUR during Halloween, so we're enabling a 1.5x EXP boost until November 1st 2021 @ 10am PDT.

[h3]2.1.7 Changelog[/h3]
  • Adds limited edition unlockable Pumpkin Robe
  • Enables 1.5x EXP Boost for Halloween
  • Adds a Headbob option to gameplay settings
  • The maximum Cult Rank is now capped at 666 and comes with its own unique rank name, "Azazel Incarnate".
  • Fixes a rare issue where the very first interact with a locked door didn't work even if you held the key

As we detailed in our previous Steam post, we're hard at work on the next DEVOUR map, as well as a whole lot of other exciting upcoming features.

Update 2.1: New Perk, Medkits toggle, EXP boosts & More!

We're excited to release update 2.1 today. Please read below for more details on all of the changes.



[h2]Changelog[/h2]

  • Added a new Medkits server setting
  • Added EXP boosts for toggling Medkits/Batteries settings
  • 6 new achievements for no Medkits or Batteries
  • Server settings are now displayed for clients in lobbies
  • Added a Players menu in-game for muting and accessing steam profile
  • Adds new perk Repellent
  • Removed the "Perks" toggle from server settings. We do not want to promote the ability to disable perks (and especially not reward any EXP for doing so). Instead, you can now disable your perk for yourself if you want an extra challenge.
  • Adjusted the base amount of EXP gained for each ritual object destroyed so that it scales exponentially instead of linearly (the minimum and maximum amounts are still the same)
  • Various improvements to hiding spots to prevent players getting stuck
  • Fixed Zara from getting stuck and spinning in front of the onsen hole
  • Fixed edge case where an extra goat would appear on The Farmhouse
  • Fixed edge case of Zara being unable to enrage due to player blocking
  • Fixed a few cases where the server settings were rendering incorrectly for clients
  • Fixed an edge case issue where Zara would begin vomiting whilst still walking
  • Fixed item duplication that could occur when cleaning an egg on a high latency connection
  • Fixed item duplication that could occur when dropping an object and being knocked out at the same time
