• Prevented an edge case where rats could climb up walls
 • Added a 30FPS limit option to graphic settings
 • Server Browser now shows the map name

 • Reduced size of German exit button text in Lobby

Brand new The Asylum map available NOW for free!

We're very excited to announce that DEVOUR's brand new map The Asylum is now available to play for free! Within the disturbing rat-infested halls of a barbaric, hidden asylum you'll experience the electrifying thrill of being hunted by the demonically possessed fan-favourite Molly Jackson, as well as scores of deranged inmates.

Our top priority in creating The Asylum was to get exciting new content to you as soon as possible. We decided not to change too many gameplay mechanics in comparison to our first map, The Farmhouse. However, The Asylum has a drastically different visual style, greatly increased graphics quality (including motion captured animations!) and it also includes a new creepy and immersive audio experience thanks to our new regular team member Steve Brooks.
New Character: Kai
We'd like to introduce you to our new, playable character Kai. He's generally a pretty laid back guy, except for when he's being chased by demon spawn..
Upcoming: Maps, Cosmetics, Characters And More!
We're excited to announce that work has already begun on future maps for DEVOUR. We plan to release the next map before Halloween. Stay tuned for a sneak peak!

Everyone loves game cosmetics and we're working really hard to bring more to DEVOUR. Other than just robes, we will be releasing completely new outfits for your favourite characters, as well as entirely new playable characters in future updates.

Lastly, we will be releasing Steam Trading Cards for DEVOUR in the near future, so keep an eye out for more announcements.
Thank You
Finally, a thank you from the whole team for the support our community has shown since DEVOUR's release in January. From our dedicated Discord mods, to all the regular streamers/content creators, to everyone who's bought and played DEVOUR so far: we appreciate you.

Now, get your spare pair of underpants ready... Molly's waiting.
1.2 Changelog
In addition to the new features described above, we have made a bunch of bug fixes and improvements to the overall game.

 • Custom server names have been removed. The player's Steam name is now used automatically.
 • Performance improvements to The Farmhouse, especially when running on Very Low settings.
 • Animals run less predictably when fleeing.
 • Animals will give up on seeking food if they are no longer able to make a path to it.

Straight Back Games is proud to be releasing its second map for DEVOUR within 3 months of the game's original launch. It has taken a huge effort, as we're only a small development team, but we're committed to delivering you new content - now, and in the future.

Thank you all for your continued support. You're awesome, and we can't wait for you to be terrified all over again on April 21st.

v1.1.1

In this patch we've fixed an edge case where respawning after falling through the world (typically due to having player collisions with high ping) would cause issues with AI not being able to target players.

Nothing else to see here. Back to the grind!

Dev Update: The Asylum Map Ritual Area

We know you've been waiting for more details on The Asylum, so here's a first look at an important area of DEVOUR's upcoming new map!

As you now know, Molly is the one who'll be hunting you down in The Asylum. As well as looking and moving differently to Anna, she also has her own unique story. After banishing the demon Azazel, Molly was committed to a barbaric asylum and spent the next 3 years being strapped down and subjected to grotesque electroshock treatments.

As her mind deteriorated, Molly began experimenting with ways to reproduce Anna's original summoning ritual and bring Azazel back. In this new ritual area, you'll learn more about what Molly was doing, as well as what you can do to reverse it... if she doesn't stop you first. Similar to The Farmhouse map, it is the place where you will perform special... procedures... which involve a rather shocking amount of electricity.

We are only a small team, so we can't say for sure when the new map will be ready. We are working as hard as we can. We'll continue to post more DEVOUR updates, so keep on checking in. If you haven't already, check out our previous news posts for more screenshots of the new map. Thank you all for your support!
