Meet Trialforge Studio

Trialforge Studio is a Brazilian (Rio de Janeiro) based game development studio guided by challenge and quality, focused on delivering a unique and memorable game experience that moves players, inspiring growth and transformation.

[h3]Why did they choose to make a soulslike game?[/h3]

We initially conceived a game with multiple characters and later decided to make it soulslike. Our fondness for challenging game experiences led us to explore this genre during a brainstorming session in 2017. As we discussed and played games like Dark Souls, we felt a strong desire to challenge ourselves to create a similar experience. Transitioning from players to game developers, we began prototyping ideas and delving into the fascinating design aspects of soulslike games.

[h3]Brazil's marks in the game[/h3]

Trialforge has integrated numerous references to their home country into the game. One of the most noteworthy nods is the inclusion of a playable character named Mamdile Ogaté. He is a fighter who leverages his Capoeira skills, a captivating martial discipline rooted in the vibrant and rhythmic essence of Brazil. The developers have also incorporated vegetation and urbanistic features, along with diverse characters, reflecting Brazil's rich cultural mix and its welcoming embrace of various cultures.

[h3]Brazilian game dev industry and its difficulties[/h3]

The Brazilian video game industry is gaining momentum, particularly in the thriving indie game scene. Developers in Brazil grapple with financial challenges, including accessing funding, navigating complex export regulations, and the absence of specific industry regulations. Global competition and the imperative for effective promotion and marketing further complicate success in the industry.
São Paulo stands out as the focal point for game development in Brazil, boasting major companies and significant investments from both private and public sectors. While Brasilia experienced an indie boom a few years ago, Rio de Janeiro is now expanding and reaching a commendable level of maturity.

Wield the strength uncovered from the heart of the fallen warriors, and overcome the horrors found across the world of Ziêminal.

Ziêminal and the great city of Akratya is crawling with callous fiends and cutthroat bosses who will push you to the limits. Binding with the fallen warriors discovered throughout the crusade will be crucial if you have any hope of survival within the vile and dangerous city of Akratya.

Craft catered playstyles by dynamically transforming between the characters discovered across Ziêminal. The fallen warriors provide the opportunity for players to adapt to the many perilous situations they will find themselves in. The teaser provides a sneak peek of the dynamic combat gameplay.

Bare arms as Therone, the zealous crusader of Goddess Death. Become a force of nature as Agharos while swinging his earth-shattering hammer. When traditional sword-and-shield isn’t enough, call upon Olivia and rain lightning down onto your foes. A keen eye may catch a brief glimpse at the devastating Morphstrikes during the teaser as well. Morphstrikes are executed by combining the absorbed essences of fallen warriors. On the brink of death, a precise Morphstrike can spell victory against an unyielding enemy.

Zieminal Scrolls #1

Today, we come to you with the first scroll unveiling the lore of the dark world we've meticulously crafted for you. Gather the initial fragments of knowledge about the world's history.

The world of Zieminal was once home to an advanced technological civilization of immortal human beings. They built vast cities and unlocked wonders of science. Immortality allowed a rapid advance of knowledge, but there was also a rapid increase in population. Everything suddenly changed, when mortality became the new human condition. Humankind was not prepared. Then, many years passed, and the survivors, thrown again into the Dark Ages, erected a new, medieval civilization, based on primitive technology, feudalism, and religious piety.

The main opposing forces in Deathbound are guided by faith in two Goddesses: Life and Death. Their worshipers led by their strong beliefs created two conflicting factions named the Church of Death and Cult of Life, and each of them carried the symbol of their powerful faith.

The dominant faith in Zieminal is made of fanatics who persecute anyone who does not follow their creed. Catena is the main symbol of the Church. It leads the way through the bloody streets of Akratya and proudly marks the attires of those devoted to Death. The chain symbolizes the indisputable binding to Her of every soul.

An uneasy alliance of many organizations. Cult tries to resist the oppression of the Church of Death. Kolpila is the symbol of the Goddess Life. An allusion to cis women's vulva, which is considered the origin of the world. It is widely donned by Essencemancers - worshippers of the Goddess of Life - in their quest to bring immortality back to humankind at all costs.
