Furthermore, we have an announcement to make: For the Next Fest, you can download the demo version, including 6 Challenger Series and 8 League-2 matches, on the "Esports Godfather" store page this weekend(Jan 27th, the version launched today still includes only Challenger Series). We will also maintain and update this test version for some time.

Delay Announcement

Hello coaches, everyone. This is Asteroid Games Studio.


Our game, "Esport Godfather: Origin", has been released for two weeks. Thank you all for playing and helping us fix many bugs. During the time coaches have played, we've received numerous constructive suggestions and interesting ideas, all of which have greatly benefited us. We are delighted that everyone is discussing with us in about game.


After internal deliberation and discussion, we've decided to make some additions to the game based on the feedback received. However, due to limited resources, we regret to announce some sad news:


We've decided to delay the release of "Esport Godfather" originally scheduled for March 15th, to May 24th. Additionally, we'd like to provide a brief overview of the upcoming work:


Game Guidance:

We will optimize the current guidance mechanism and the game rule reference. By the way, the current game rule reference can be found in the bottom left corner of the battlefield interface, providing an overview of the current game mechanics.


Customization of Initial Team Members:

In the official version, we will offer a feature to customize initial athletes. You can build your own team, including character appearance and name, match trait, routine trait, the hero pool and on and on.


Custom Gameplay:

We have collected many suggestions and opinions regarding gameplay requirements, such as whether the Dragon fight can be ignored, the frequency of version changes, and concerns about the complexity of the upcoming equipment system. Understanding that everyone has their own preferences while playing games, we plan to implement customizable options for gameplay. This will allow you to customize certain aspects of game content and mechanics to improve experience.


MVP Selection Mechanism:

According to the communication with everyone, we found that many players have doubts and dissatisfaction with the MVP selection. We plan to optimize the MVP selection mechanism by adding two interfaces after each match. One interface will present MVP player ratings and commentator comments, while the other will add ratings for all athletes in the match.





To be honest, making this decision was not easy for us. We understand that the delay may disappoint, sadden, or even anger players. Considering the workload and time needed for these additions, we had to choose to delay. We are aware of the expectations for "Esport Godfather," and we also want to polish it into a more refined work. Therefore, we sincerely hope you accept our apology: Sorry, but we need to delay the release by two months.


We plan to update some content related to the League 2 during the Steam Next Fest, including version change, new heroes, the equipment system, and expanding hero pools. We expect to provide an update for "Esport Godfather: Origin" next weekend, along with optimizations to alleviate lag issues. We hope you have a try and provide feedback/bug reports. Your assistance is greatly appreciated.

This is Asteroid Studio. It's been a few days since the launch of "Esports Godfather: Origin " Thank you all for playing! We've received a lot of feedback from players. Here, we'll address some of the recent and frequently asked questions.


Q: Heroes not grouping up when pushing high ground (referring to a team gathering under the turret of the opposing team's high ground after establishing an advantage, preparing to attack the enemy high ground) and the confusing AI simulation of heroes.

A: In the official version, we might introduce a card to represent this mechanism: when one team's inner turret is destroyed, both sides receive a card (tentatively named "Assemble") that gathers all heroes on this lane. This mechanism will be a customizable option, allowing players to decide whether to enable it.
If you have ideas or suggestions regarding the issue of inner turret destruction, please feel free to contact us. We are excited to collaborate with players to create a better gaming experience.


Q: Confusion about participating in Dragon teamfights.

A: Considering the tempo of the game and the learning curve, we designed the current Dragon teamfight rules as a simplified and mandatory team fight. In the official version, we will provide customizable options related to Dragon teamfight, allowing players to customize certain aspects (e.g., choosing to avoid fights and release the dragon).
In reality, both this question and the previous one involve the "conflict between seriousness and gameplay." It's a balancing act, and we're open to discussions with players.


Q: Issues with ban slots, a limited number of heroes, and low difficulty.

A: The hero pool hasn't been fully unlocked yet. We have already made 50+ heroes with diverse abilities, and they will be gradually introduced in the upcoming official version. (Ban slots will also increase to five for each side as the game progresses.)
To help players unfamiliar with the game, we intentionally lowered the difficulty in the current version. However, based on our internal testing, we believe Ban-Pick in the League 2 is challenging enough.


Q: Balance issues with certain overpowered heroes.

A: The current version is part of our anticipated iterative process. Each season's start will bring a set of rhythm changes affecting resource team fights' timing and rewards. Additionally, there will be rule changes, such as earning 20 gold for the hero when playing a card. We aim to alter game balance through the combined impact of both.
Our current philosophy is to avoid having a hero be too weak in most versions or overly dominant in the majority of versions.

Q: Optimization issues causing lag during gameplay.

A: Our sincere apologies! I've pushed the development team to work tirelessly on optimization, and upcoming versions will undoubtedly offer a better experience!


Q: Issues with the systems, including cultivation, skills, and equipment.

A: This is a trial version, and many features are yet to be implemented. As you explore the game, you'll discover systems such as equipment, routine traits, skills, etc., which will be fully revealed in the official version!


Q: Game has many bugs.

A: We appreciate all the bug reports we receive daily. Our programmers are working tirelessly to fix them (o(╥﹏╥)o). However, the bug information we currently have might not be sufficient for the programmers to identify the issues. If you encounter bugs, please send us the information as it greatly helps in troubleshooting!


Q: Music and sound effects issues.

A: We apologize for the unfinished music and sound effects. Due to our status as an independent studio with limited manpower, we currently don't have a dedicated person for this. We will strive to complete and enhance the audio aspects in future versions.
Additionally, we recognize our limitations and welcome discussions with capable individuals. We are very eager to collaborate with you!


Q: Character portrait issues.

A: We've recently received a lot of criticism regarding character portraits. We sincerely apologize for this. Currently, we're in a challenging situation. As the studio has developed, we only have one full-time artist responsible for UI, hero models, character portraits, and more. Given the current circumstances, the final result might not be ideal without using tools. We're actively seeking solutions.


Q: Lack of a proper beginner's guide.

A: We apologize for the insufficient tutorial. Many players have been confused about the game rules. You can click the button in the lower left corner during a match or press the TAB key, where you'll find a rule reference detailing the game's mechanics.


Q: The coach's notebook is empty.

A: That's correct. Our idea is that since each player's understanding of the game varies, we want
players to gradually develop their own understanding through version changes. The coach's notebook will become a helpful tool in future matches.
We will continue to improve the coach's notebook in future versions and introduce features such as one-click import and export in the official version.
If you strongly resist using the coach's notebook, don't worry. In the official version, the coach's notebook is not a mandatory option, and we'll include it in the custom options so you can disable it!


Q: Dislike for the team fight format.

A: We've criticized the producer severely based on your feedback and subjected him to punishments! We hope his personal preferences won't affect your gaming experience.
Here are the producer's own words: "The current team fight is not perfect in my plan. It's a system that can be expanded. If time permits us to continue developing more content, we will introduce mechanisms to complete it. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience caused by the current version."
