Remnant 2 Passes One Million Units Sold!

Remnant 2 sold more than one million units in just four days across PC, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 Gearbox Publishing announced today. Gamers and media around the globe showered praise on Remnant 2 as the breakout hit of 2023. Remnant 2, the follow-up to the best-selling Remnant: From the Ashes, also more than doubled the number of concurrent players at launch, breaking its own franchise record.

“To everyone who helped us achieve this amazing milestone, thank you for your unwavering support,” said David Adams of Gunfire Games. “This was a multi-year journey for us and we couldn’t be happier to see fans having such a great time with a game we put our heart and soul into.”

Remnant 2 devs hid a whole new class behind datamining - and yes, someone’s already found it

Remnant 2, this year’s sequel to surprisingly good ‘Dark Souls, but a co-op shooter’ Remnant: From the Ashes, continues to land surprise after surprise - from being a surprisingly ambitious follow-up to the less-good surprise of its tech woes on PC. The biggest and best surprise so far might be an entirely new class, which devs Gunfire Games deliberately hid behind an unlock process so obscure you needed to datamine its solution.

How do I unlock the Remnant 2 Archon? The question that plagued the Remnant 2 community during its first week after launch has finally been solved. While Gunfire Games has stuffed its sequel with plenty of secrets to keep fans busy, unlocking this secret archetype is a real headscratcher, and it's proven as popular as it is elusive thanks to its powerful suite of abilities.

In order to unlock the Archon in Remnant 2, we've compiled a straightforward list of the parameters required to access the corrupted biome in The Labyrinth and enter the action-adventure game's mysterious Backrooms. Before you begin, it's vital that you unlock the Invader and Explorer classes, since you'll need their dual archetype combination in order to begin to unlock the Remnant 2 Archon.

Remnant 2 has a class that can only be obtained by datamining, and it’s no accident

Remnant 2, much like its predecessor (and perhaps even moreso!) is a game all about the little discoveries. Like many Souls-likes, Remnant 2 doesn't explain a lot of its mechanics, or how its various sytems interact with eachother.

Indeed, the prodecurally generated nature of its level design mean that every player's starting world is going to be different, and the levels themsleves can contain different items/be made of different sections depending on the seed that generated them.

Because of that, Remnant 2 has a chunk of hidden content by design. Even going as far as hiding entire classes behind story choices, or only revealing them after certain requirements have been met. But now way is this more evident than the Archon, one of the game's many hidden classes.

Remnant II has peaked at 110,856 concurrent players on 30 July 2023 within the release week.
