Six amazing PC games you can't miss in March

Spring hasn't quite yet sprung, but warmer, sunnier, and (maybe?) better days are ahead, especially when it comes to game releases. It's not like there's much else to look forward to right now.

Triple-A publishers have pretty much vacated March, with It Takes Two, Evil Genius 2, and Yakuza 6 representing the biggest games due out this month. However, there are a ton of awesome indie games set to release in March that more than make up for the myriad delays we're seeing across the industry. Just this month we've seen a fresh crop of delays for the Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time remake, Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2, and even a Cyberpunk 2077 patch. Oh, and we did have the excellent-looking Minute of Islands on this list when it was initially published, but that's also been delayed.

Fortunately, February's Steam Game Festival let us try out hundreds of games across every conceivable genre, and now many of those games are nearing release. From chill strategy games like Dorfromantik to roguelikes like Loop Hero, there's something to suit every type of PC gamer. So join us as we run through some March's best prospects that might not be on your radar.

Loop Hero review

Loop Hero is an auto-battler, which means it plays itself, leaving your hands free to stroke a dog or learn the ukulele. Press "go" and your hero will scuttle off like a locomotive on a train set, encountering monsters, slaughtering them in quick, uninteractive battle scenes, collecting the loot and cards they drop and then continuing on their fated way.

Round and round they go, trapped but resolute, like a greyhound on a malfunctioning racetrack, where someone forgot to turn off the hare and the crowds have long since gone home. Your hero will do this for as long as you let them, or until they die, because with each completed loop the monsters become incrementally tougher.

Loop hero tile combos and synergies

Looking for a guide to all the tile combinations in Loop Hero? If you've been playing the roguelike deckbuilding game for a couple of loops, you've probably noticed that placing down certain card combinations near each other can result in one of these cards transforming into something new - for better or for worse.

Loop Hero is all about carefully balancing your expeditions in order to maximise your loot, without compromising on your ability to take on more challenging foes as you progress to higher loops. There's a large amount of theorycrafting and experimentation that goes into each run, but if you'd rather not figure these tile combos out for yourself and instead use a comprehensive list of all the Loop Hero combos in the game so far, we're here to make your looping life a little easier.

We've listed every instance where tiles transform into a completely different tile, but there are other powerful combinations - like placing a Swamp, which turns all healing effects lethal, next to a Vampire Mansion. The Vampires' blood-sucking ways will then damage them instead of healing them - serves 'em right for chowing down on your precious neck.
