Solenars Edge started as a school project back in 2008. It was a short story made on microsoft word and was lost just a week later, due to the inability of the school allowing me to bring the files with me. Years later, on a walk in the Forrest. I remembered... everything. This time, I wrote it down and nobody could take it from me.
From then on, I made four small demos. v0.1, v0.2, v0.3, and v0.4. Each of these demos contained one element of the game such as combat or exploration and showcased it promptly. These demos also contained characters from the anime; Fairy Tail. As, at the time, Fairy Tail was one of my favorite shows and not really featured in many games.
After showing them to some friends at the time and people around me, I decided to work on chapter one. After many months, chapter one was finished and was really hard unfortunately. Most people quit after the first dungeon after being bombarded by mobs and poison.
So, I as time went by, I tweaked and I tweaked it. I've lost friends along the way, allies, etc. Then I lost the game. Everything got corrupted and for a year I took a break. At this time, I made some side games such as Solenars Edge: Legends and Trials of Almachia. *Both games are discontinued now.*
I was also thinking about a completely different game called "The Legend of The White Fang." But, it never took flight. This was back in 2012-2014. I then... started from scratch, all over again on Solenars Edge. So, I remade chapter one as best as my memory could serve me. At this time, I met this one guy, who was really interested in the game.
That's all I needed to continue making it. I released the chapters episodically. Every time a chapter was completed, I sent him a .zip and he would play it. He really enjoyed it and anxiously awaited the next chapter. That was my motivation to make this game. I was new, and I didn't know much, but I was excited to make him something he would enjoy. When I finished the game, I recompiled it into Solenars Edge 2.0 *Which is currently on Itch.io*. This was back in 2015 or so. After all those years, my work was finished. At this time, I also made a side story game called Balthus Requiem. It is a prequel going back many years into a very old character's life and gave more world development.
Then, about one to two years later... I bought greenlight and tried to get it on Steam to a wider audience. It was met with a harsh backlash, hatred I've never seen before. It was different to say the least. Needless to say, Steam Direct came out and my money was wasted. The game was then re-crafted again into Solenars Edge: Rebirth. All the copyrighted content was removed, so it could be distributed on Steam. I'd done it, I finally finished that one game. It wasn't perfect, but it was proof that I could do it if I kept trying and didn't give up.
That same year after Rebirth made it to Steam, I created another game called Restoration about two siblings on a journey to save people's fleeting hearts from turning into nightmares and honor their grandma's dying wish. Then a year after that, I created Luvocious. It's, it's own unique game, allowing you to play out the lives of four different characters from four completely different worlds. One of those worlds was Alcornagia, the world in which Solenars Edge Rebirth takes place in. Within this world, you take control of Princess Yuki, trying to regain her Kingdom from the murderous empire who took it from her. This story takes place about 30 years before Rebirth and about 10 after Balthus Requiem. I was now interconnecting my games and expanding on the story.
About 5-6 months after that, I rebooted Solenars Edge Legends into Solenars Edge Heroes and put it on Steam. Some people liked it more than Solenars Edge Rebirth even though it didn't have story. But, to each their own.
Shortly after that, I helped publish a guy named Anima and he had made Fesnia. My roaster of games was growing, but my motivation was not. The sales were less than favorable and the community was harsh. I didn't expect much going in, to be honest. But I did expect to be treated a bit better. But, sometimes you can't have your cake and eat it too.
After this long period of a break. In 2018, I started work on Falnarion Tactics back in August. I entered it in a contest thing on Itch.io. Everything seemed fine at first, I even placed higher than I expected. Sadly, I came under fire and things with south. Long story short, things were debunked and it was all just attention grabbing nonsense. It was really hard to deal with especially since I was already in a rut. But, regardless, I kept going. I made Estellium Legends and then Anima made Deatherem. They weren't quite received well, but Estellium Legends was pretty fun to play with me and my friends, I'll admit.
Sadly, shortly after this, Anima split. He allowed me the rights to his games though and I really haven't seen him ever since. I've then months later, created Falnarion Tactics II as I really enjoyed the first one and some people did too. It stuck out from my other games in a unique way and I was proud of that. Anyways, a new friend comes along and wants to make a fan game to the series. She joins me in person and creates Tales of Beasteria, she also had created a lewd puzzle game. But the Tales of Beasteria was a continuation of Falnarion Tactics, but just a fan based, not cannon game where you play as the bad guys. That was kind of cool. So, for a bit, it was me and her. Then Jaded Lancer joined and he brought his game; L'Cestrue Seyuntres to the table and Pluumpu merged her games; Tales of Beasteria and Hentai Slide Girl Puzzle (Or something).
Sadly, this year, Pluompu passed away due to COVID-19 and all her current and future projects were abandoned. It makes me sad still thinking about it, and it's really tragic. Now, today. I'm working on the conclusion of my years of hard work and the finale to the connection of all these games I've ever made. You may take a quick glance at these games, you may even play them and think they aren't anything special. But, please, know that I put years of hard work and effort and tried my best on a virtually non-existent budget.
With Jaded Lancer's game in early access and Solenars Edge II: Aurora of The Seventh Dawn around the corner. I really hope that if you made it this far in reading this, that you play the demo and enjoy it if you can. If you can't enjoy it, please offer me your feedback, so that changes my happen.
Thank you so very much for listening to my story. It's been a very long journey and the conclusion is just around the corner. Please look forward to Solenars Edge II: Aurora of The Seventh Dawn on June 18th 2020.
-Team Syukino.
*Side note:
The Legend of The White Fang would later be renamed to Solenars Edge II: Aurora of The Seventh Dawn *This game*.
