YoloMouse 1.8.4

Stabilizing...

This small update focuses heavily on stability before moving back to features. Most of this involved simplifying and heavily retesting the injection component - the part that tricks a game into using your cursor.

Also by popular request some of the basic cursors were given a more pixel perfect remaster :)

NOTE: If you have issues updating, the previous YM may still be lingering so please reboot first. One of the fixes avoids the need for this in the future.

YoloMouse 1.8.3

Finally an update! xD

Had hoped I left YM in perfect shape while I went off to work on another project, but alas software can never be perfect. These are items that crept up over time...

One in particular is based on reported issues I couldn't reproduce. But I knew these must be related to the hooking system (where YM jumps into a game and tweaks its cursor). So I ended up rewriting the whole thing to fix a lot of performance and stability issues. One caveat is you may be nagged with an admin popup for old 32bit games that run as admin - like DAOC.

The other important update finally fixes the wierd input issues some may have noticed in certain anticheat protected games like Lost Ark.

Also some new cursors! :)

Btw, that project I mentioned is a new crosshair app called YoloX. It uses much of YM's tech and some improvements of its own that I rolled back into YM.

  • new: added YoloBypass.exe which serves purely to fix wierd input issues in some anticheat protected games like Lost Ark. It only runs when needed (no bloat!).
  • new: cursors: anvil, bag, balance, book, bow, chest, flame, heart, mail, satchel, skull
  • buff: improve performance by disabling rendering for the cursor and settings menus when theyre not in focus.
  • buff: improve performance and anticheat security by only hooking into intended apps.
  • buff: improve hooking safety against crashing the target app
  • buff: block other overlays from hooking into YM. this prevents various known or potential problems.
  • remove: old 32bit injector. replaced by above changes.

YoloMouse 1.7.1

Hotfix!

A fast needed set of fixes for issues found in the last update. The biggest fix was removal of the UAC popup which wasn't intended to trigger so often, caused other side effects, and was really just meant for one game: Everquest 1 ;) The fix also added back an old "Run as Admin" option to taskbar menu. This is only needed for rare cases (like Everquest).

Thanks for all your feedback which greatly helped in squishing these bugs :)

YoloMouse 1.7.0

Biggest update ever that no one will notice (yet) :D

A new overlay has arrived that wields the power of a full game engine!: https://godotengine.org/ . Now anything will be possible as far as possibilities go for a cursor ;) An editor and workshop publishing support has also been added.

But all that time was spent integrating this and no time to make anything to show it off :( But thats ok, this is the last major feature for YM on the list. Remaining updates will focus on content, fixes, performance, and remaining minor features.

So just the basic 3D cursors (prism, petals) have been ported over for now. Pyro has been removed and replaced with a similar PixelFire cursor. If anyone misses Pyro let me know and it'll find its way back in some form :)

For those concerned about bloat. This update actually debloats YM by separating out the overlay which will only be loaded upon use. You should otherwise see better performance and memory use.

Also several small updates and fixes...
  • The old overlay still exists but is now simplified for anticheat purposes only and will only be used if the new one isnt needed.
  • For those seeing wierd input issues in anticheat games like Lost Ark and Albion, this has a fix but requires those games to be run as admin. Looking into avoiding this restriction next update.

YoloMouse 1.6.0

Another big one :D

After much research into bypassing anticheat protected games a very clean and safe (not bannable) method has been discovered. This allows YM to function with anticheat protected games like Lost Ark almost identically to unprotected games. Additional related improvements have been added like overlay cursor support in dedicated fullscreen.

Also a long overdue tutorial :D This is the first step to making YM fully self documented.

VSYNC is now enabled for the overlay cursors. I'm not sure why I had this off, but it should buff performance a little.

Finally an announcement of a major upcoming feature: Godot game engine integration. This will unleash YM's true potential with fully moddable 3D cursors :)
