The Steyr Arms pack takes brand partnership to the next level with the simultaneous reveal of the brand new Steyr-Gams in the real world and as an upcoming item in Way of the Hunter!

The upcoming Steyr Arms pack introduces 4 new hunting rifles to Way of the Hunter, including the Steyr-Gams – a newly announced high alpine hunting rifle available in Way of the Hunter exclusively before it is even sold in stores.

Featuring an optimised scout barrel and an integrated picatinny rail for precise optics mounting, as well as the innovative combination of carbon stock and state-of-the-art 3D printing technology, the Steyr-Gams is an ultra-light rifle of the highest quality and precision.

The Steyr Arms pack also adds the Steyr SSG M1 for precision and reliability, the Steyr Mannlicher CL II Fullstock for the biggest and most dangerous game, and the all-steel Steyr Monobloc ARMAD for ultimate ruggedness.

Patch 1.24.1 is live for everyone!

Patch 1.24.1 is now for everyone, adding a new rifle scope, ambient sounds to Tikamoon Plains, and addressing a few outstanding issues.

  • Added: Scope ZOOMXD Thunderstrike XR12x44
  • Added: Tikamoon Plains ambient sounds
  • Fixed: Special mission animals can respawn after you have claimed them
  • Fixed: If a player fast travels or is knocked out before a fatally wounded animal dies and it is killed upon despawn, the animal remains in its last pose
  • Fixed: Inability to claim the man-eating lion after harvesting a different animal during the mission
  • Fixed: Lion rare fur variation being called albino (changed to leucistic)
  • Fixed: Wrong claim date on taxidermized animals
  • Fixed: Albino animals having different eyes in-game and in the claim screen
  • Fixed: Incorrect trophy age for multiplayer animals in the hunting log
  • Fixed: Pop-up when resetting game settings to default offering players to reset game progress
  • Fixed: Difficulty in Free Hunt mode not being based on the difficulty wizard
  • Fixed: Outline of warthog intestines in the bullet camera
  • Fixed: Hunter sense dot being too bright when breath is held for the first time
  • Tweaked: Reduced mule deer aggressivity
  • Tweaked: Bow reload animation while crouched
  • Tweaked: Animation when selecting a diorama or a trophy for a stand

Dev branch patch 1.24.1

Patch 1.24.1 is now live on the Development branch on Steam, adding a new rifle scope, ambient sounds to Tikamoon Plains, and addressing a few outstanding issues.

We will push this update to the stable version on Steam, as well as EGS, GOG, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S as soon as we have confirmed that it is, indeed, stable.

Before you opt into the development branch, please make sure that you back up your save file, as progress you make on the development branch WILL NOT CARRY OVER to the stable version if you later choose to switch back. The patch will be pushed to the stable version and other platforms as soon as we have confirmed that it is indeed stable.
