Hey everyone!

Our patch for the 'No Clean' issue on older hardware has now been added to the live version! We'd like to thank everyone for getting so many reports to us here on steam and with the in-game tool. It has really helped us to resolve the issue as fast as possible.

On top of that we have fixed another problem that effected some users saves. Plus, have some tweaks to help those players with older hardware get better performance.

To those that are currently on the test branch, you will want to go into your settings and remove that. (Right click on PowerWash Simulator in your Library > Properties > Betas > Select none - you may need to restart steam if the game doesn't update).

Full notes below.

• Added “Legacy” wash system to allow players with older hardware/drivers to clean. This setting should be automatically changed based upon your PC, but if you are still unable to clean anything, please open Options > Graphics and change Wash System from Standard to Legacy.

• Fix for save data being corrupted due to a crash or some other unexpected shutdown of the application (e.g. power loss) during a save operation. Players with corrupted save files will need to clear their save data in the Options menu and start again.

In some cases, power loss or unexpected system shutdown shortly after the game saved could cause save files to become corrupt. The game writes save files to a temporary location and then copies them over the old files. This file copy operation sometimes left the save file in the Windows file cache without writing the changes to disk, so that if Windows shut down unexpectedly before the cache was flushed, the file contents would be lost.

Why did we originally use the windows file cache?

it's just a part of how Windows works - everything goes through it for performance reasons. same reason you have to "safely eject" stuff in theory!

how did we fix it?

We now flush the cache for our save file after every save, which trades a little bit of performance for reliability

• Added more steps on the Render Scale and the ability to switch off the “Wetness Effect” to help players boost their performance when running on older/lower spec hardware.

We've been overwhelmed by the positivity for the game so far, between the heart warming reviews here on Steam and watching many content creators pouring hours into the game. Thank you all for making it an amazing launch!

No Clean Update Test Branch

We've been busy with working on an update to help those with the no clean issue and we have a test branch now live, if you want to try this out you can by following this guide: https://steamcommunity.com/app/1290000/discussions/0/3088885996478063720/ So sorry to anyone who has experienced it and it has been our top priority to fix!

All of the reports so far have been positive though we'd love to hear below if you still have any issues.

With this test branch your data should carry over but we don't want to guarantee this 100%. We'll let everyone know when something also hits the live version though!

We'd also like to thank everyone who has assisted us with tracking this down.

We'd also like to mention we also have a fix for the crash save corruption issue which we'll also be looking to put live as soon as we can.


We want to give everyone a more detailed roadmap of upcoming content soon. Though today, we'll be teasing a few of the features of the 'challenging' update coming soon.

First of all we have 3 new levels lined up for you, including one larger scale map and two larger vehicles! We actually showed off one of the vehicles in our launch stream with Unity on Twitch, one of our developers actually puts dirt onto it live!

Finally the other big feature we've been working on is a challenge mode which will be split into two parts one where you are washing for the best time and another where you are washing a level trying to use the least amount of water possible! We're still fleshing out the finer details on these modes but we can't wait to share soon!

We've already seen the starts of speed running with the game and would love to help foster this scene to make sure speed washing can become a thing! Plus, we hope it will add some replayability to our current levels as more are released over the coming patches!

We'll have lots more little quality of life additions and fixes so keep an eye out here for when the patch is fully announced.



Our second audio log from Lowrider Sound who did all of our sound work is now live on YouTube giving more insights on how they made everything so satisfying!

Wacky gag games aside, the trend of '𝒳 Simulator' games demonstrates a great truth: mundane manual tasks can be great fun. I'm the first to volunteer to help pals with DIY, bodge-y builds, stripping wallpaper, or shed clearouts. Sadly, I live on the top floor of a tenement and I don't think my landlord would appreciate me hiring a powerwasher just to have a go. So thank goodness for PowerWash Simulator, a game which launched in early access today and (to borrow an old DIY slogan) does exactly what it say on the tin.

Through our career mode you'll find yourself a budding pressure washing entrepreneur, from humble beginnings earn money for better power washing equipment and take on increasingly grander jobs!





Blast away a whole host of different dirt types in the game. Be satisfied from the contrast of dirty to clean. Our unique dirt system layers dirt based on their toughness so you may peel away one layer with a wide angle nozzle to a surprise ingrained dirt lurking below!





Our game has been designed to be as soothing as possible from the spray effects to the relaxing audio. On top of that we wanted to make sure players could chill out and play at their pace. All jobs are able to be paused and picked back up again at any time. There's also a free play mode where you can enjoy cleaning without the pressures of running a business!





It's time to use your ingenuity and bring water to Mars with our first special job which see's you clean the Perseverance Rover! Hop on the planets surface with reduced gravity and look out for even more surprises!
