Time to make a first announcement!

The next Cornutopia release will be SFXEngine, unique audio creation software for creating sound effects. All of the sound effects for the Cornutopia Games were created using SFXEngine, and sound effects for many other commercial game titles from PC to Nintendo 3DS, as well as most of the 13,000 strong IndieSFX game sound effects library.

The key to SFXEngine's power is ease of use. It uses a modular chain of sound processors, termed Engines, to quickly layer sounds. Any parameter of any engine can be changed at whim, or transformed over time using a modulator, which in the case of SFXEngine is a simple wav file itself, so it's easy to design complex envelopes and oscillators without the complexity of editing ADSR envelopes.

Optimised for monotone sound effects, unlike music synthesizers, SFXEngine acts as a creation tool and a librarian for groups of sound effects.

SFXEngine is high-end audio production software, with all unique audio algorithms and internal 32-bit processing throughout, but will be targeted at game developers at every level.

SFXEngine will launch on June 23rd at $75, including a 25% launch discount.

Flatspace IIk is now on sale for a few days with 33% off. If you haven't entered flat space yet, it's a space exploration/trading game with roguelike elements, and a considerable upgrade in every way from the first Flatspace game.

I can now announce that the next Cornutopia release will be SFXEngine, a powerful sound effect creator and audio processor. SFXEngine will be coming out on Steam in June, but more on this later.

Two pieces of news! First, the new Golden Age Music Pack is out now for Flatspace IIk. This DLC features four unique edits of tracks from my next album, The Golden Age, due out on streaming platforms on April 14th. The pack includes a full description of the music as a pdf booklet.

It's been a busy year for game updates already, and I hope to get my ancient catalogue online somewhere and somehow at some point! One of the aspects of it is keeping games up to date.

And today a new update for Radioactive.

The update includes a few technical changes to help with setting up the screenmode, a new non-playable demo so that people can see and check that it works before they buy it, and new 1980s/1990s robotic speech.

There have been other game related updates here and there too. The cornutopia.net and lostinflatspace.com websites were not redirected correctly, they're back now, as is the email sign up. The next update will be some DLC for Flatspace IIk. Stay tuned for that.
