The next update for, Update 1.1.0, is coming on March 4, 2025 for PC & console.
Since launch, our team has been hard at work addressing key areas of Civ VII. Thank you to everyone who's shared feedback with the team. We’re continuing to pore through all of your feedback and keep it top of mind as we prioritize and put work into patches and updates.

We recently gave some more info on what you can expect in 1.1.0, what's coming late March in 1.1.1, and beyond that, a look into the other high-priority items that our team is scoping out. Check out the full details here and our new development roadmap below.

New Civilization 7 updates could fix all the worst problems, from UI to maps

Two upcoming Civilization 7 updates could provide the biggest fixes for the 4X game's worst problems. The user interface in Civ 7 has been a consistent source of criticism so far. You've probably also been frustrated with the map generation, the behavior of CPU-controlled rival leaders, and the fact that the game ends at the conclusion of the Modern Age. But Firaxis has a sweeping improvement plan - with the Crossroads of the World DLC also on its way, there's reason to believe that Civilization 7 could already be on its way to recovery.

Civilization 7's first in-game event postponed so Firaxis can 'prioritize quality-of-life improvements'




Civilization 7 had a rougher-than-expected launch, thanks largely to changes that made it, as we said in our 76% review, "the most streamlined and pared-back the series has been in a long time"—and not always in a good way. The backlash was strong enough that developer Firaxis committed to fixes and improvements before Civ 7 was even in full release, and in a "check-in" posted today it shared details on what players can look forward to over the next couple months...
