We’ve got another helpful guide incoming from Civ creator quill18! As the sun sets on one Age and rises for a new one, we see the birth of new technologies, methods of artistic expression, and diplomacy. A lot to take in, but Quill18 is here to help guide our way into a new Age with his latest tutorial video, and helps answer the question for players: what exactly happens during an Age transition?

Civilization 7 just hit fewer players on Steam than even Civ 5, but there's hope

A new entry to the Civilization series is always a tricky proposition. As much as players love a fresh take on the long-running strategy staple, changes in design approach and the typical need for months of refinements and add-ons sometimes mean it's better to play an older Civ or a competitor like Against the Storm, Total War: Pharaoh, or Crusader Kings 3, than the latest launch. This seems to be the case with Civilization 7, which only came out a month ago but had fewer players on Steam than 2010's Civilization 5 earlier today, as Firaxis continues to struggle to improve its latest outing with regular updates.

Civ Streams: March 2025 Update | Civ VII

Hey, Civ fans! We just wrapped our latest developer livestream showcasing some of the changes coming in Civilization VII Update 1.1.1 deploying on March 25, plus some dev-versus-dev multiplayer gameplay and viewer Q&A!

In the VOD above, we discuss additions included in this free update like Quick Move functionality, improvements to map generation, the option for Settlement and Commander renaming, Mount Everest as a new Natural Wonder for all players, additional UI polish, and more.

We also debuted live gameplay of new civ Bulgaria and new leader Simón Bolívar, which both go live alongside new civ Nepal as part of the paid Crossroads of the World Collection* DLC on March 25.

Happening right now! For all our French Civ fans, don’t miss the head-to-head multiplayer match “Civ Vous Plait” - organized by Civ creator Zerator! The brawl will be between Joueur du Grenier, Antoine Daniel, Pressea, and Alphacast, and each creator will fight for the honor of being crowned champion.

The event is hosted by Civ creator Lege on Twitch at CET: 6:00 pm - 12:00 am // PST: 10:00 am - 4:00 pm // EST: 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm. Good luck to all the participants, and may the best Leader win!
