If you were watching the Akupara section of MIX Next Publisher Spotlight you would have seen news of the major content update coming to Kardboard Kings called Card Game Island! You can watch the trailer here!

In the Card Game Island update, you’ll actually play the card game and face off against other characters by buying a plane ticket to Card Game Island! I’ll go deeper into the card game in the future.

Also coming in the Card Game Island update is a new hard mode appropriately named King of Games. You’ll need to be a king at Kardboard Kings to not close down shop. Each day your reputation takes a small hit, you pay taxes every week, and more. While each small little thing doesn’t do too much but together makes the game that much harder. Can you keep the card shop afloat in this new unfavorable mode?

We are still hard at work in developing the next major content update to Kardboard Kings!

Kardboard Kings will be featured in the MIX Publisher Spotlight with new exciting announcements about the upcoming free update. The MIX Publisher Showcase is a special section of MIX Next, the Akupara Publisher Showcase will announce details about upcoming titles, drop new content for our released games and even reveal the next, new Akupara game!

The MIX Publisher Spotlight will go live on October 27th at 12pm PST | 3PM EST.

Hey, card sharks!

The second big content update for Kardboard Kings is now live!

We've got three new card sets and a brand new (much requested) gameplay feature to help endgame players churn through their massive collections.

As a note for any achievement hunters out there, all achievements referencing card sets (such as collecting a shiny of every card in the game) will be updated in 0.7.9 to require the new card sets as well.

We’ll be going dark for a while until the next big content patch is ready but… boy let me tell you, it’s gonna be a doozy. Without spoiling anything, I just wanna say… the #1 most requested gameplay feature is coming to Kardboard Kings. It’s happening.

[h3]New Card Sets[/h3]
We’ve added 3 new card sets to the game, Noodle Love, Raw Sugar and Pushing Up Daisies from the artists raindemitree, Robert Ruszczyk and ungfio respectively. These new cards look absolutely stunning and I hope you’re excited to add them to your collection!

[h3]The Bargain Bin[/h3]
A highly requested feature from deep endgame collectors, the Bargain Bin is going to help you dump your cards without needing to risk a clearance sale or spend days flooding the shop with dead weight. Instead, the Bargan Bin will let you drop any card in for $0.25, making it nice and easy for you to clear out all the cards you’d rather not worry about selling.

The first big content update for Kardboard Kings is now live!

We've got three new card sets, eight new decorations and a host of bugfixes all come in our first big content update for Kardboard Kings. The new sets are each done by a new slate of guest artists (who absolutely knock it out of the park, by the by) and will seamlessly add themselves into your current save or a brand new file. Either way works! Same thing will happen with the eight new decorations, these ones coming entirely through Declan's weekly shop goals. Be on the lookout for those exclusives!

As a note for any achievement hunters out there, all achievements referencing card sets (such as collecting a shiny of every card in the game) will be updated in 0.6.3 to require the new card sets as well.

We've got more plans for more features in the next big update (especially to help players in the deep late game with huge card collections) so you can bet I'll be showing that off in the not-too-distant future as well.

Steam Trading Cards are now available for Kardboard Kings! No, you can't sell them for a profit in the shop but you can collect and trade them with other store owners on the Steam marketplace! This also includes the customary profile badges and emotes so if you want to bring the coolest Kardboard Kings tech to your Steam profile, feel free to get trading!
