Early Access release date!

Hello dear Followers,

it's finally time to announce the final release date for Dayscream in Early Access:
It's today the 13th October at 6pm MEZ or 10am PST!

It will contain the first chapter of the game with puzzles, enemies and spooky atmosphere, perfect for the date and right around the corner of Halloween!
It will feature a 10% off release sale.

Keep in mind that it will contain bugs and maybe other errors. But still I hope you will enjoy it and please let me know what you think and leave suggestions or bug reports right here on the Steam Community Hub or on my Discord Server.

I am very excited for the further journey!

Best whishes,
Bernhard

Early Access | Dev Diary #3

Hello dear whishlister, reader, followers and other people!

Sorry for the long silence, I was absent for a few days. But in this time a prepared for an Early Access release for Dayscream.

The short version: I decided to go this way to get more feedback from you faster.

The long version: I think Early Access fits very well for dayscream, to implement faster suggestions from the players and develop and unfold the story, where needed, together. I think it will really boost the development of the game and will only end up in a better version. I also hope to have a better chance to interact and share with you, the players.

And now let's cover some questions:

When will the Early Access version be released?
When it is ready. I hope in 2-3 weeks from now, so mid October.

What will be the state of the game?
It will features the first levels, or better said the first chapter. You will experience narrow tunnel systems as well as openly outside locations. You will also have to solve puzzles and fight against enemies.

How long will it be in Early Access?
I think about 5 months up to one year.

Thanks for reading, I am already very excited about the release of the Early Access version of Dayscream. :)

Greetings,
Bernhard

Short Alpha Walktrough | Dev Diary #2

Hello dear whishlister, reader, followers and other people!

Today I will not talk about much what I have coded or done. Instead I will post a short video wher I walked thorugh the first 2 levels of the game. You will see some of the features and monsters and also some bugs and clunky animations.
But I hope you will still enjoy the short presentation :)

Greetings,
Bernhard

Getting things together | Dev Diary #1

Welcome to my very first dev diary. It has been a while since the steam game festival and a lot of stuff has happened since then.

I changed a little bit the shaders of my materials to get an overall crispier look but with a little pixelated vision. I will include a screenshot to show you the actual state of the aesthetic.

I also implemented more levels, monsters and a pistol to finally have more than just a pipe as a weapon.
I also implemented a somehow remote control especially for specific levels which should guide you the way if you get lost throughout the level. More on that in the future, I will not spoil you 😉.

For me, one of the biggest achievements since the game festival is the look an the atmosphere of the outside level. I loved the aesthetic and the atmosphere of the original Silent Hill, and that was what I was aiming for.
This is just a small insight on what was going on since June. I will continue to keep you updated.
Best whishes!
