Patch 13.1 - Major Balances, Brute Health Bar, HP Bar Fix

MOST WANTED 13.1 PATCH NOTES

  • Brute now spawns with a visible health bar
  • Modified all ship's flashlight visibility distance
  • Decreased Player Fire-rate Delay from 0.5s to 0.3s
  • Increased Patrol's spawn cooldown from 3.3s to 3.5s
  • Increased CQ's spawn cooldown from 15s to 20s
  • Increased SWAT's movement speed
  • Increased SWAT's range to 12m
  • Increased Brute's range from 8m to 8.5m

The Most Wanted Update | Patch #13

Hi all,

This patch features a new mode for you to all experiment with. Please note that this new mode will need EXTENSIVE testing, trial and error, before it’s fully suitable and completed. This is my first time making an enemy AI like this before which chases to close range, shoots and more, meaning that it may seem too strong or weak at times.

[h2]New Mode: Most Wanted[/h2]
Playable in Arcade Rewards: 30XP
The Space Enforcement Service (SES) patrols and protects all parts of space from planet damage to unusual activity. After witnessing you destroying thousands of asteroids when you were stranded, you have made yourself a high-risk suspect, which needs destroying. In this mode, cornered by agents of the SES, your primary objective is to survive 3 minutes until your nuclear bomb is ready and discharge it, clearing a path to escape. Take out waves of SWAT teams, siphon health from enemy ships, and do whatever it takes to survive.

[h2]Most Wanted's Wave System[/h2]
Most Wanted adapts a new wave system which is utilised with the base spawning system used with the asteroids. While normal SES officers will spawn with the old system, other variants of enemies will spawn at dedicated times throughout the 3 minutes. Below are all the timings.
  • 3x SES Patrol Officers spawn every 3 seconds
  • 5x SES SWAT Officers spawn every 30 seconds
  • 1x SES CQ Specialist spawns every 15 seconds
  • 1x SES Brute spawns at the 2 minute mark

[h2]New Enemy: SES Patrol Officer[/h2]
Patrol officers are the base enemy you'll spend the majority of time fighting against. They move slightly slower than the player, have a range of 9m, and deals 1 damage per 2 seconds. They are a one-bullet kill.

[h2]New Enemy: SES SWAT Officer[/h2]
SWAT officers arrive every 30 seconds as a group and will be a pain against if you've let too many patrol officers swarm the area. They move a bit slower compared to the Patrol Officers, have a range of 11m, and deals 1 damage per 1 second. They are a one-bullet kill.

[h2]New Enemy: SES CQ Specialist[/h2]
Close-quarters specialists deal devastating damage up close and are fast. They move slightly faster than the player, have a range of 2m, and deals 5 damage per second. They are a one-bullet kill.

[h2]New Enemy: SES Brute[/h2]
The Brute is the toughest officer to go against. They move extremely slowly, however have a range of 10m, and deals 10 damage per second. They are a ten-bullet kill.

Search and Destroy: Part 1 | Patch #12

Hi all,

This is something to give you all while I take a little break from major development. It features a little QoL change and a new mode as well as 2 achievements to play for.

[h2]New Mode: Search and Destroy[/h2]
Playable in Arcade Rewards: Level 6 10XP, Level 12 20XP
Feel tough destroying all the asteroids you've been destroying while stranded in THEIR territory? Well, the hunter becomes the hunted. Introducing Search and Destroy, where the asteroids chase you down and try to wipe you out! Want to avoid them? Turn off your flashlight! While not being able to see anything, the asteroids won't either so you can take a breath! But you never know if one is lurking behind you...

Dev Log #2 - Development Paused

Hi guys,

I'm just making a little post to let you know that Rocky Mayhem's development will be paused for a while. Since releasing Rescue Operations Part 1, I've lost steam to continue with the level design for the newer levels as well as overall ideas for the other modes.

Thankfully I've finished the main game so if I decide that I'm done with Rocky Mayhem on a permanent basis, I can be relieved that I finally accomplished my goal of finishing the base game. I'll also make an official announcement if I decide to conclude Rocky Mayhem with a final update, but for now it's undecided.

Thank you for sticking with Rocky Mayhem and sitting with me throughout the development process. It has been a great experience and I hope I can gain the ideas to come back and continue.
