RM Remake Playtest now avaliable! + Official Discord!

The playtest for the remake is now open as a beta branch! At the moment, it's extremely barebones with less content than the main game. The biggest highlight is that it runs through Unity now, scrapping GMS2 completely. This allows me to continue development, implement higher-quality assets and spare more performance for demanding stuff in the future.

Currently, all you can do is play a "survival mode" and see how long you can survive for! I'm aiming to update this as regularly as I can, so please be patient. In the meantime, see what you can break or give me feedback on what you'd like to see in this mode before I work on the campaign!

Development for Rocky Mayhem Remake has resumed

Access older versions now!

Hi all. I've taken some time to make all old builds playable through Steam's beta branches feature. To access these, right click Rocky Mayhem in your library -> Properties -> Betas and change to any build you'd like. Each build has it's own pros and cons compared to the others including; Different levels, HUD, Movement mechanics, Combat mechanics and more. You'll now be able to access all builds from the very first week of development to 2 months later in order of Prototype to New|Unstable. This update also cuts the file size in half and speeds up the software by a tiny bit!

I would love to continue working on this game but as the files are completely lost and I have no one to help me with it, it is a scrapped project. So take this as some "new" content where you can play through with different builds!

Hi guys, this will be the last ever announcement for Rocky Mayhem. I've been working on the remake for the past 8 months with a couple friends ready for a steam re-release as a free to play title with procedural map generation, voice-acted cutscenes and more, however we have decided as a group not to release this due to the controversy with Unity within the game industry. We've chosen to stand with the affected game developers and stop using Unity in total, moving onto Unreal Engine.

Along with this movement, we've decided to end complete development on Rocky Mayhem and ditch the project entirely. While we would like to remove this game from the steam store, our publisher would most likely not be happy with this so the game will be left as is. Whether we release our total progress of the 8 months is to be seen with what Unity executives decide to do.

I'm sorry for the false promises of getting a remaster out for you all within the last 3 years, just turned out to set extremely unrealistic goals. However I am now part of a new dev team for an unreal engine space game, so who knows! Might see ya'll around someday.
