Hotfix Patch Notes | Invasion - November 5th

[h2]Greetings Reagents,[/h2][p]A hotfix patch was deployed today, here are the fixes included:[/p]
  • [p]Invasion Matchmaking Adjustments[/p]
    • [p]Implemented a new priority system to increase the overall chance of being selected as an Invader.[/p]
    • [p]Invader matchmaking priority now increases by playing Reagent matches.[/p]
    • [p]Invader matchmaking priority now also increases based on time spent waiting in the matchmaking queue.[/p]
  • [p]Anti-Stalling Measures[/p]
    • [p]Added a 3-minute maximum timer at the start of each Trial before Invaders are deployed.[/p]
    • [p]Added a 30-second delay after death, requiring players to either enter Spectator Mode, use a Respawn Pill, or trigger Self-Revive.[/p]
  • [p]Imposter Changes[/p]
    • [p]Restored the Imposter retreat timer after downing a Reagent.[/p]
    • [p]Increased retreat timer to 25s (30s with upgrade).[/p]
[p]Bug fixes & other changes[/p]
  • [p]Story Trials have been removed from the Invasion program but remain available through Global Invasions.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where the sound of preparing a Stab was not audible to other players.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug that caused secondary objective tasks to complete automatically after an Invasion match.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Imposter chase music/audio cues could trigger while the Imposter was holding a fake item or Reagents were hidden, breaking stealth.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a bug where Reagents could appear partially in the ground after a quick slash attack.[/p]
[p]Dev Comment: With this hotfix, we’re addressing some of the biggest pain points in Invasion mode. More updates are on the way, but for now, our focus is on improving how players are placed in the Imposter role through matchmaking. We’ll closely monitor these changes and continue refining the experience. We’ve also introduced new anti-stalling measures to prevent Reagents from dragging out matches and leaving Imposters stuck in spectator cameras. This is just the first step - more anti-griefing systems will follow in future updates.[/p][p]Additionally, we’ve removed the longer Story Trials from the Invasion program to maintain the fast-paced, “quick play” spirit of the mode. They remain fully accessible through Global Invasions. Finally, we’ve adjusted the Imposter’s presence during Trials by restoring the forced retreat after downing a Reagent. The retreat timer has been increased, giving Imposters a choice: overextend and risk to die, or retreat safely. [/p][p][/p][p]Twitch Drops Until November 18th 9:59am ET[/p][p][/p][p][/p][p]Reminder that the Twitch Drops for The Outlast Trials will end on November 18th at 9:59 ET.   • [p]The Geister Catalog access is free to all players for the duration of the event. All unspent Event Tokens will be lost after November 18 at 9:59am ET.[/p]
  • [p]Once the 2025 Geister Event ends the Catalog will be vaulted. The 2025 Geister Catalog will be available in the Murkoff Store at a later date. You will be able to unlock the Catalog with Murkoff Coins, and its price will be balaced depending how far you progressed into it.[/p]

Hotfix Patch Notes | Invasion - October 28th

[h2]Greetings Reagents,[/h2][p][/p][p]We have worked on various fixes, here is what is included in this most recent hotfix patch:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where players would occasionally stay immobile after a stab counter.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the friend Invasion system so it properly joins the target player every time.[/p]
  • [p]Group Finder will now match players together that have the same "Global Invasion" Privacy Setting value.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed the player Imposters always having the Blind Rig visible (now correctly shows the mimics rig).[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where kicking an Imposter performing a fatality on teammate with low health would not result in the imposter getting knocked down and killed.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Invasion tasks could be part of the Daily Tasks.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed various issues related to Imposter player names appearing.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with group invites being sent through Steam to non-friends.[/p]
  • [p]Removed “Triggered sound disturbance” from Imposter scoring.[/p]
  • [p]Stun changes:[/p]
    • [p]Increased radius of effect to player imposters to 2m (was 1.5m) (Range of effect on ExPops is unchanged)[/p]
    • [p]Reworked stun reaction animation on imposters. It is now 2s longer for a total of 5.5s (was 3.5s.)[/p]
  • [p]Stab changes:[/p]
    • [p]Imposter now have a longer reaction animation when countered (bottle/brick), giving a bigger window of opportunity for reagent to escape after countering the stab. They can’t instantly chain with a finisher Slash immediately after being countered anymore.[/p]
    • [p]Fixed an issue where Stab was causing more damage than intended when countered (62.5 instead of 50).[/p]
    • [p]Slightly decreased range of Stab to 2m (was 2.5m) to match Slash range.[/p]
    • [p]As victim of a Stab, the interface now correctly displays your health instead of the execution icon.[/p]
    • [p]Reagents can now counter Stab (with bottle/brick) multiple times, unless they have 25hp or less.[/p]
      • [p]If stabbed with 100hp, the bottle/brick counter will put the reagent to 50hp.[/p]
      • [p]If stabbed with 50hp to 26hp, the bottle/brick counter will put reagent to 1hp.[/p]
      • [p]If stabbed with 25hp or less, the bottle/brick counter is not possible.[/p]

Hotfix Patch Notes | Invasion - October 24th

[h2]Greetings Reagents,[/h2][p][/p][p]Our team has been working to release a patch with the following hotfixes:[/p]
  • [p]Consecutive projectile impacts on Imposters now have reduced effectiveness when occurring in quick succession.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with players on PC having an invalid path set up as a caching folder. This prevented players from playing the game.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with continuing as Reagents after a Global or Friend Invasion. It should now properly launch an Invasion Trial.[/p]
    • [p]Remember that you can adjust your Privacy Settings for your Trials to enable Invasion by Friends or Anyone in ALL Trials. Please adjust this setting according to your personal preference if you are above Reagent level 30. This setting is DISABLED unless a player has ENABLED it.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed a rare crash on GTX 660 graphic cards.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Imposters would sometimes spawn from insertion gates that were disabled.[/p]
[p]Known Issues[/p]
  • [p]Our team is investigating potential issues with players not being able to Invade friends from their Social Menu in The Outlast Trials. Please let us know know if you encounter any issues with this.[/p]
  • [p]Working on a fix for some players not being able to Invade Friends from the Social Menu.[/p]
  • [p]We're aware that Imposters can charge attack and follow up with a quick slash to cause an "instant kill" on a Reagent - we are looking to tweak moves like this.[/p]

Hotfix Patch Notes | Invasion - October 23rd

[h2]Greetings Reagents,[/h2][p][/p][p]Our team has deployed another hotfix patch to address some issues that have been reported. This hotfix patch includes the following fixes:[/p][p][/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where Imposters would receive an "F" and no rewards if Reagents would leave the match.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue with Rebirth not granting any XP rewards.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed an issue where fuses could become inaccessible.[/p]
  • [p]Fixed some camera issues (jittering) in spectator mode.[/p]
  • [p]Tweaked global invasion so players can get invaded more often in regular Trials (Genesis, Limited-Time Events, and Routine Therapies).[/p]
[p][/p][h3]This is our first micro balance pass to adjust the Invasion gameplay:[/h3][p][/p]
  • [p]Reagents can now interrupt the slash kills (fatal slash that triggers a kill animation).[/p]
  • [p]Early stab kill and execution interruptions will now have the victim go down instead of killed.[/p]
  • [p]Stun changes:[/p]
    • [p]Decreased stun effect time on player imposters.[/p]
    • [p]Base cooldown increased to 200s (was 180s).[/p]
    • [p]Slightly decreased effect range against player imposters.[/p]
    • [p]Cooldown reduction of upgrade "Restore" is now 50% (was 75%).[/p]
    • [p]Reduced the effect of upgrade "Decreased Cooldown" to 15% (was 20%).[/p]
[p]Dev comment: When combined with certain items and Amps, the Stun Rig’s effect becomes overly punishing to Imposters and is used too frequently as an offensive tool, beyond its intended purpose. It’s meant to provide occasional offensive opportunities, not a constant advantage. With these changes, Reagents can still use it effectively but will need to be more deliberate about when and how they deploy it.[/p]
  • [p]Imposter changes:[/p]
    • [p]Imposter aren't forced to retreat after downing a Reagent anymore. Retreat timer is only when killing/executing a Reagent.[/p]
    • [p]It is now possible to perform an execution when preparing a stab (holding knife). Will prioritize nearby alive reagents if applicable.[/p]
    • [p]Decreased slash miss stamina cost to 20 (was 25).[/p]
    • [p]Retreat time increased to 20s base (25s upgraded).[/p]
[p]Dev comment: We’ve adjusted the risk-reward balance by removing the automatic retreat after downing a Reagent. This change fixes cases where interruptions during a Stab Kill would trigger the retreat. [/p][p]
