To celebrate this patch, I've collaborated with the Brickadia developers to add fun toy-brick map to Fadeout!

But why?
For those that don't know, Fadeout owes a lot of its roots to Blockland (2007), an online brick building game.
I used to create mods, and host Deathmatch servers on Blockland very frequently as a kid.|
Well fast forward 14 years later, and I'm much older at 29, and working in the games industry!

Modding was a huge part of why I decided to pursue a career in games.
So what a better way to 'end' fadeout development than with a homage to my roots.

[h3]Brickadia[/h3]
So what is Brickadia? Well, Brickadia is a spiritual successor to Blockland built on modern game engine code. (Unreal4)

Brickadia is still in development, but with their help I was able to export a map created in the game for us in Fadeout! It's a strange cross over, but it did yield a very fun map.
Over the last few weeks, the discord server has been helping me test this map + some other 'last minute' changes to the game.

The Brickadia map supports all game modes, and comes with a new ORIGINAL music track by Strider/Tempxa (one of our composers!)

Balance Changes:
    Ticket-to-Die
  • hurt-box duration decreased from 1.18 seconds to 1.05 seconds
  • Self damage when over charged changed from 5 damage to 10% max health damage per tick
  • Self damage occurs sooner

    Others
  • Detonator cooldown adjusted (0.15 seconds shaved)
  • Charlie 1+4 exploit fixed

Voice Chat! New Brickadia music! and more! 0.99.01

Second to last content patch, last one being 16th

I decided to squeeze in a bit more bug fixes + an ancient promise of Voice Chat!
Default voice chat key is C, its global, and only works if you're alive (for now)

Let me know how this goes! We did some testing, and most sound setups seem to work fine.

0.95.01 - Brickadia map added



Brickadia Crossover Map!

My buddies on the Brickadia team gave me permission to do a small crossover map!
This map is a neighborhood that embodies that kind of TDM games you might see in Brickadia. An online multiplayer brick building game.

This map is nearly complete, and is available for early testing in this patch 0.95.01.
The final patch (1.0) will include a new music track for this map.

Look out for the map's unique Mega Weapon! The Giga Mouse

Features Changes
  • Capture Point rework, capture points now operate on a circular counter. (Similar to other games like TF2) Requiring a teammate to stand on the point for a couple second before capping.
  • Brickadia map!


Balance
  • Detonator Buff: Throwing Cooldown = 0.35 -> 0.25
  • Wrench buff: 60 -> 80 dmg
  • Abby Shotgun(Baby) NERF: 8 to 6 dmg per pellet
  • Hemlock Melee buff: 60 to 80 dmg
  • Charlie's Melee exploit has been fixed (for now...)


Random
  • Camille's hardhat stopped glowing (fixed)
  • Spectator camera movement speed increased from 1200 to 1800
  • Button cooldowns reduced from 4 to 0.5 seconds (all maps)

    Projectile Speed changed from 5500 to 4000
    Throw angle narrowed
  • Hemlock Nerfs:
    Melee CD: 0.1 to 0.8 seconds
    Animation speed 0.5 to 0.42
    Knockback added: 0.0 to 600
  • Removed flamethrower from Battlefield, swapped with Shotgun
  • Changed health pack respawn times on Fortress (to avoid death pit fights lasting too long)
