Cult of the Lamb announces massive free update amid "biggest" sale yet

Cult of the Lamb is a beautifully dark simulation roguelike from the stellar indie minds over at Massive Monster and Devolver Digital. You play as a newly resurrected lamb and form a dedicated cult all while taking on powerful gods. While the chaotic loop provides countless hours of fun on its own, the developer has just revealed that even more content is underway in the form of an entirely free major update.

Cult of the Lamb has been in active development for around 5 years now, and grew from the seedlings of some of our initial concepts - Girl Scouts that grow magical weapons, a "make your own hell" afterlife simulator... until we landed on our weird little woodland creature cult game! 🦊

We've worked so hard on expanding the game with more characters, new game modes, events, and so much more - and there's still lots to come!

Here's a look back at the last year:

Celebrated Cult of the Lamb with you all in real life with an orchestra, IRL ritual, and more during Melbourne International Game Week!
Had some incredible collaborations, like our Don't Starve update!
Speaking of updates, we dropped 'em! Lots and lots of new content (Relics of the Old Faith), music, and crushed mountains of pesky bugs
Ran events like the pumpkin contest and Discord Follower Faction Wars
Celebrated our little Lamb's first birthday, and grew our wonderful team!
We're still going strong, and are polishing off the next major content update as we speak!

And all of this has only been possible because of all the support and love we have received from you over the past few years!

We have made so many wonderful memories with you, and we can't wait to make even more. This little Lamb has so much planned for the future, and we just can't wait to share everything with you!

Collect and use resources to build new structures, perform dark rituals to appease the gods, and give sermons to reinforce the faith of your flock!

DESTROY THE NON-BELIEVERS, AND SPREAD YOUR WORD 🛐 No one shall stand in your way. Explore a randomly generated world, fight off hordes of enemies and defeat rival cult leaders in order to absorb their power and assert your cult's dominance!

Cult Of The Lamb and Monster Prom devs announce a surprise Halloween crossover

Halloween is almost upon us, and even if you're too old for trick-or-treating, there's still one underappreciated tradition kids of all ages get to enjoy. I refer to the special time of year when indie devs — especially those whose works have spooky themes — get together to plan elaborate cameos in one another's games.

The latest left-field collaboration in this vein is between roguelike cult management simulator Cult Of The Lamb and multiplayer survival game slash dating sim Monster Prom 3: Monster Roadtrip:

Both games were originally released in 2022 and are no strangers to collaborations: the Monster Prom franchise has previously featured crossover content from Among Us and Helltaker, while making its own cameo in Max Gentlemen: Sexy Business; while Cult Of The Lamb mutually crossed over with Don't Starve Together for a recent collaboration. Truly there's something for just about everyone on that list, although clearly being massively horny and/or fighting for your life are popular themes in fantasy-flavoured indies.
