Hunt In Town News

Message from the developer

Good day everyone

It's been four years since I gave any news about Hunt In Town. I'm sure you have questions about what happened to the game, so I will try to explain most of it and what's coming for the game.
Why hasn't the game been released?
Hunt In Town was the first game project I planned to finish and fully release on Steam. Back in 2020, I rushed myself to make the game because another Werewolf game that uses the same 3D assets became popular very quickly, which really scared me. I wasn't experienced, and it led to a project with unorganized code. I couldn't test much of what I was working on by myself, so I had to plan test times with a few friends, whom I still thank a lot for their help. However, with this limited testing and the fact that I was working on almost all different roles for the game at the same time, it became a nightmare to manage, leading to more bugs every time I changed something. This really affected my mood, so in November 2020, I decided to stop the project.
What has changed for the project 4 years later?
As you can guess, a lot has changed since I stopped working on Hunt In Town. I haven't stopped making games and learning new things to improve; they just weren't public work. For Hunt In Town itself, nothing has changed from what was planned 4 years ago. The game will still be Free To Play at its release.
Are you working on the game again?
Yes, Hunt In Town is back on my project list. I've remade the project from scratch, learning from my past mistakes and applying new skills I’ve acquired along the way. The game is much more stable than before, and I want to keep it that way before the release. You can now request access to playtest the game. Public playtests haven't started yet because I want to ensure everything works properly first, and I also need to know how many people are interested in playing my game so that I can pay for the server hosts.
Why have a Steam Playtest if the game will release in Early Access?
The reason for this is that the game is not yet in a state that I would feel comfortable releasing to everyone. Think of it like an open beta; it will most likely have a lot of bugs and issues, but I will be more open in terms of communication compared to before.
The new screenshots look different from before, is that normal?
This is totally normal. As I mentioned above, I fully remade the project from scratch and decided to go with brighter and more colorful visuals. I love how the game looks currently, and I hope you do as well!
TL;DR

Hunt In Town is back. Wishlist for news and register for a chance to playtest! A public Discord server will open soon for all your questions.
