Devlog #5 The locations

Open world stealing game of course needs some interesting locations.
But before you get inside huge mansions you got to start with something easier.

Those trailers look easy enough. But they usually don’t have much inside.

Small houses like that are a great way to learn more about stealing. For sure they have a TV or two.

On the other hand, a gas station should have some cash in the storage room in the back.

A friendly neighborhood can have some pricey jewelry just waiting to get stolen.

And of course don’t forget about banks and city apartments, while not easy they will provide you with enough cash to buy a car, maybe even a house if you get lucky.

Of course we have more in the making. What would you like to steal from?

Devlog #4 The cars

Cars in American Theft 80s are important in many ways. Not only will they get you from point A to B but are also essential in theft.

You start with an old car. It’s slow but it will help you to transport TVs and other big items to the pawn shop.

After you earn some more cash you can buy other cars. Some of them are fast and will help you to get away from the cops.

Other cars can be great transport vehicles if you plan to take a lot of loot in one trip.

But you’re a thief after all so buying cars isn’t the only option to get them. Be careful though, police will look for them and sometimes it’s just better to get rid of them as fast as possible. That doesn’t stop you from getting some cash out of it, of course.

Let us know what classic cars would you like to see in the game?

Devlog #3 The items

What would a game about stealing be without nice loot.

On your way to become rich you’re going to have to start with something less valuable - like vhs tapes or cassettes.

But those aren’t all 80s flavored items that you can “obtain”. Look out for classic consoles, VCRs or a cool looking electric guitar. It’s all out there.

But all that wouldn’t be worth the effort if it wasn’t for a friendly businessman that will gladly buy those artifacts. Maybe the price is not great but it’s better than nothing, I guess.

As the game progresses you will also find jewelry, art and a lot more actually valuable items.
Let us know what items you would like to steal (not in real life, of course, that would be illegal).

DEVLOG #2 - The heists

In American Theft 80s it’s not always about invading homes.
Sometimes our hero needs to do a bigger job.

We’re talking about heists. Sneaky ones, of course. You can’t go in all guns blazing - you need a good plan.

Breaking in is not as simple as it seems, so look out for openings. Now, if someone would leave a window open, that might be your chance to get in...

Ok, now you’re in but we’re not there yet! Avoid the guards, they will not only call the police but also try to stop you by using brute force.

Other things to watch out for are cameras. Always look around and peek around the corner, you never know where they installed those.

We’re almost there, but banks don’t keep money under the pillow. The vaults are hard to open but well worth the effort. Don’t worry, you’ve got a friend in drill!

That’s all for today folks, stay tuned for more!

DEVLOG #1 - The movies

In American Theft 80s we are all about giving you the feel of those times.
As we all know, the 80s had some of the most iconic movies ever.
We needed to include them in our game.

Yes, we do have the famous Toiletnator, Dambo and even Fat Max.
Ahh the classics, just thinking of them takes me back to my childhood.

Simply having those posters wouldn’t be fun would it?
Steal one of each to get an Achievement.

You can also buy a home and place the posters on the wall, show everyone you’ve got great taste in movies.

Let us know what 80s movies do you love, maybe we will add them to the game.
