Most Wanted presents a thrilling open world experience where a team of cops is tasked with hunting down one player marked as Most Wanted. The hunted’s allies, on the other hand, must do everything they can to slow the cops down and help the Most Wanted to escape.





Both modes highlight the unique promise of Criterion’s action-racer classic: to empower players to push the world’s most desirable supercars to their limits on both sides of the law – with weapons! UNDER THE HOOD: GAMEPLAY UPDATES

Last week, we welcomed you back to Seacrest County and compared the visual enhancements of Need for Speed™ Hot Pursuit Remastered with the 2010 original side-by-side. Today, it’s time to put the spotlight on all the extra gameplay content and updates, including a wide selection of exciting cars and events plus two unique multiplayer modes.




Five DLC packs – the SCPD Rebel Racer Pack, Super Sports Pack, Armed & Dangerous Pack, Lamborghini Untamed Pack, and the Porsche Unleashed Pack – are included from the get-go in NFS Hot Pursuit Remastered. Six hours of extra gameplay and more than 30 challenges have been integrated throughout the single-player career, giving more content to discover right out of the box.

Race in manufacturer specific events with an array of mouth-watering supercars. These are available for the first time on PC, and unlockable both offline and by beating your friends in online Autolog events.

Two exciting ways to race and chase in multiplayer have been added from the DLC packs as well: Arms Race and Most Wanted.

Arms Race is a chaos-on-four-wheels race mode where everyone is armed to the teeth. Use gadgets, equipment, and dirty tricks against your opponents, and stop at nothing to be the first one crossing the finish line.

Most Wanted presents a thrilling open world experience where a team of cops is tasked with hunting down one player marked as Most Wanted. The hunted’s allies, on the other hand, must do everything they can to slow the cops down and help the Most Wanted to escape.

In addition, the original game’s achievements and trophies have been updated and combined with the DLC equivalents. A brand new car color picker allows players to choose from a broad range of different colors and paint types. Every single shortcut and alternate route in the game world have been reviewed, too, with added props and improved visibility for any hard stop, entrance, and exit.

And that’s not all:

  • The looks and readability of the HUD have been improved
  • There is an all new Racer Garage
  • All the menu screens and loading screens have been updated with more useful information available for the player across all events on the career map screen
  • The original CG intro video has been AI upressed
  • Every video in the game has been remade and updated
  • The online multiplayer menus have been updated and improved
  • The ability to skip video and reward sequences has been added, for players who just want to cut straight to the action.
  • Next week’s Under the Hood will detail the multiplayer, Autolog, and cross-play, as well as the unique and action-packed dynamic between the racers and cops in Seacrest County.

Inspired by the west coast states and their variety of biomes, Seacrest County consists of mountains, forests, deserts, and coastal roads. A scenic detour from the hustle and bustle of the big cities, if you like. So stop for just a bit, take a moment, and breathe the wild countryside air.

Then, floor it between the giant redwood trees of Big Timber Forest, the scorching sands of the Boulder Desert national park, and bolt headfirst down the slithering roads of the snow-capped Eagle Crest.

During the original game’s creation, Criterion and DICE pushed the graphics to its limits to create an amazing-looking world. Until very late in the project, a lot of the people involved thought some of the implemented tech just wouldn’t be possible. But they pulled it off.

There’s even a weather system, where you’ll see snow falling in the mountains, rain sweeping in on the coast, and where a heat haze blurs your vision in the desert. A fully dynamic time of day contributes to the visual spectacle of a living world. While the original went almost full dark at night, the remaster utilizes a “bright night” for better visibility.

Now, Stellar Entertainment has brought an already beautiful game up to par with modern racing experiences. Depending on your system, you’ll get up to 4K/60 FPS, higher-resolution models, more objects and props, improved models, longer draw distance, higher resolution shadows and reflections, improved videos, upressed UI, boosted textures, more particles, and improved AA/SSAO.

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered confirmed for Steam, cheaper than on consoles

Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered is a real thing - please act surprised after all of EA's extremely subtle hints. This is indeed a remaster of Criterion's 2010 version of Hot Pursuit, which is quite good, but perhaps not the late-90s classic you're nostalgic for. It's coming to PC and consoles in November, and it'll be a bit cheaper for those of us playing on home computers.


You'll be able to pick up Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit Remastered on Steam (and Origin) for $29.99 / £24.99 / €29.99 on November 6. That's a full 25% cheaper than any of the console versions, whether on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, where the game also launches on November 6, or on Switch, where the game launches after a slight delay on November 13.


All versions will have cross-play and cross-progression with each other, and include all the major DLC packs originally offered for Hot Pursuit, as well as "new achievements, car colors, wraps, reduced hard stops, an updated photo mode and gallery, and multiple quality of life updates", according to the official site.
