The online multiplayer playtest has been going on for a week now, and we’ve received a lot of feedback, suggestions, and even some criticism (which is good)!

HOWEVER!
We need more feedback and more testers!

We’re excited to announce that after the first round of feedback, the online multiplayer playtest is now available to everyone! We took a lot of comments we received into account, and we’re also updating the playtest with some new sweet features!





Who (or what) do you want to be today – a samurai? How about fruit? Depending on your mood, choose different hats and colors for your spiders!

Spiders colors are available by default, but hats are unlocked by getting achievements (to make it more interesting, we suggest you try to find them yourself 😉)

To customize your spider, jump to the island on the left side of the main lobby.



[h3]Double Particle Blade[/h3]
This weapon features two blades on each side. Throw, spin, deflect attacks and crush your friends (or foes) with twice the power!



[h3]Hecksaw[/h3]
A weapon that shoots a disc that deals damage. The disc does not disappear immediately, it is active for a while and moves by bouncing off surfaces. Try it on the new Ant Domain map! 😉





[h3]Swings[/h3]
You will have to fight on platforms that resemble swings on this map. Pushing your friends into lava is now easier than ever.

[h3]Ant Domain[/h3]
A closed map in the form of a labyrinth. With its many branching tunnels, there’s plenty of room for strategy, but limited space will make it harder for you to dodge your enemy’s attacks. Plan your battle accordingly!



As a reminder, this online multiplayer playtest is available until June 9th, 23:59 GMT, so you still have plenty of time to share your feedback with us!

The Online Multiplayer for SpiderHeck is in active development and our team will need your help! Starting today, you can apply for playtesting the current version of it and share your feedback with us. We’re going to select a number of applicants and they will get access to the game shortly, so keep an eye out on your email and Steam notifications!

We also ask the selected playtesters to complete a simple feedback form upon finishing the game session. This information will help us improve the mode and the overall gaming experience, so we ask that you take this part seriously.


[h2]Online multiplayer[/h2]
That’s right. No more remote play struggle. Play online with other playtesters using the new online play functionality. Just jump on the Quick Game island and wait for a few seconds to join random players online. It just works. Magic.

You can also invite your friends who have access to the playtest version of the game via Steam friend list. Or add someone from the playtesters to your friend list and play together when you have time. Feel free to join our Discord community to find new friends easily.



[h2]Game modes[/h2]
Face your opponents in the Versus Mode or join forces in the multiplayer PvE Wave Survival and show those pesky insects who are the real heck masters here! Just don’t swing your blades too close to each other.



[h2]Playtest duration[/h2]
We’re planning to have this playtest from May 26th until June 9th, so you’ll have plenty of time to test all the features, game mode combinations, and share your feedback with us.

Hey everyone!

In the beginning of 2022 we announced our newest community activity called “Heck of the Week” and since then we’ve received a few hundred of your exhilarating clips on both social media and Discord!

Last month in particular, we received so many incredible clips that we just couldn't pick only one. Instead, we decided to celebrate the SpiderHeck community by sharing a number of those clips with everyone, instead of just one!

So without further ado, let’s jump into our Heck of the Week community spotlight!

Fastbanana demonstrates some incredible fencing (and hot potato) skills on this one, good job!



You don’t necessarily need to actually hold your weapon to defeat those enemies! This is greatly illustrated by Lukelcc.



Calculation and adrenaline! That’s a nice combo to use if you want to survive in SpiderHeck! Good job, Cubic!



Plazzey says it’s good to have that spidey sense in you when playing SpiderHeck!

Did you know that you can play golf while playing SpiderHeck? Well, thanks to Lukelcc we now know that!
